For anyone curious, I am at City and we had about 3.5 weeks to prepare for the external exams this year. I know some students at other providers who were doing exams up to two weeks to some days before the external papers.
Can't back down now as I am starting my bar course this September. If you could share some material for head start, that would be great. P. S: Great video
I am currently holding offers from BPP and City for the bar course. Why do you say that City is the better of the two? Would love your thoughts on this.
PERSONAL OPINION DISCLAMER: the advocacy module may be lenient because they don't have Last Minute Instructions. And Stuart Sime, the author of the Civil Procedure Book is the lecturer/mentor of Civil Procedure Module of City Law. so, your call :)
Hello. I found this video very helpful. Just wondering if you can give some more detailed advice on how to improve advocacy? I am an introverted aspiring law student, just wondering what made you decide to pursue the route of being a barrister instead of a solicitor? I tend to stutter during interviews and speeches (even when I did prepare for them) So I understand your struggles:( I am not sure if I am a good fit for being a barrister...
Hello there! Just keep practice it in front of camera or record it on your own. One of the reasons why I started youtube channel is to practice talking comfortably too! Because the barrister course is recognised in Malaysia instead of solicitor. If I were to take the LPC for solicitor, I won't be a qualified lawyer in Malaysia.
Then maybe try out solicitor? Or just endure that awful 9 months then get into conveyancing or coporate where you don't really need to do public speaking but however, working is going to make you talkative in social work situations...cuz you're paid to lol !! good luck
Hiya! you mentioned Q&A's. I was wondering if we're supposed to get these books ourselves (like for personal reading) or are they usually included in the reading lists of the course? Thanks!!
hmm seems like u haven't started the course? maybe get around with the materials u have then when you understand what u need, then only go extra miles for extra materials.
Hi. I am currently doing my BTC from BPP London and my Civil and Crim exams are near. Would you be kind enough to share your civil and crim materials? I could really use all the help I can get. Thankyou.
you can work in the UK but it's highly competitive. I did my pupillage in Malaysia and decided to try something other than law before I dedicated my whole life to law ...haha
@@marshmallowskye2272 i applied BPP birmingham first but they offered a 2k waiver if I'm willing to go to BPP Bristol as they're opening a new branch there so I was in the 1st batch in Bristol. HAHAHA not too bad for 2k
@@mertark8511 haha not because of that reason. There wasn't any reasons given upon rejection but i heard there is a quota of getting into Cardiff's BPTC. I still don't know why i got rejected haha
yo this is hella helpful! I just finished my llm from BPP holborn. I accepted my btc offer from UWE Bristol. for the bar course, where can I find study materials to begin prepping for civil/lit exams? thank u in advance!
Hello, I would like to ask how did you pass your Opinion Writing cause I passed all the modules except for OW and I’ve failed twice. Sigh. 😔 this is sooooo sad
which Institute are u from? there will be feedback from your failed result. But best way is to contact your mentor and ask her how to improve. Because this is internal paper and u should know how and what kind of structure your tutors want as discussed in class. Maybe get as many Short Answers as possible? If u lack of time to finish it in 4 hours, maybe just skip writing the facts and go straight to liability and etc cuz the facts only contains 1-2% in BPP
