Delicate, passionate, well thought trough, perfect phrasing, the renaissance of the Kreutzer sonata. I'm loving it. Sayaka Shoji again breaks every record.

In the staccato passages, very Samurai-like use of the bow. I admit I very rarely - if ever - saw a violinist of this calibre. Small, tiny woman, big genius. The pianist does an excellent job.

The original name of this is "Sonata Mulattica" and it is dedicated to the great interpret Georges Bridgetower.

Always loved this sonata, though I'm generally not a fan of chamber music. But the Beethoven fire is muted here; that ain't no "presto" tempo in the first movement. Beautifully played but kinda slow (for my tastes anyway.)
