Simon knows exactly what he is doing. As soon as he said "You've got the potential to BE a great a capella group", I felt something. I knew it was going to be the best advice.
Some gullible people out there. It was clearly scripted. They completely changed the performance and pacing of the song...
Every time Simon halts a performance it’s definitely been planned.
The harmonies are only effective a capella. And the harmonies sold it!!

I agree. If what we saw is true it feels so scripted unless they cut out certain points. I feel like you don’t pull off that acapella version without even rehearsing or discussing the arrangement at least once.

The way Simon was formally represents what REAL agents do.....we don't play and don't care if someone is mad....it's just 'sorry, you're not meant for this role' and 'next'.....or we give good ones a chance to show they can be great...as Simon did here....and we DEFINITELY BLACKLIST BAD ATTITUDINAL PEOPLE.

@@laurelgrasset8639 everyday singing I guess? every house had their own karaoke. A Bluetooth speaker, a mic and a youtube connection will do also. TH-cam had this karaoke video if they don't have karaoke machines at home a portable Bluetooth speaker is the alternative hehe ... everyday it's the usual here in the PH.. one example is on my end after a long day of work I release stress in singing or playing guitar while singing, It;s just our past time singing here I guess

Mr Simon did the right decision. That’s why we called him “the legendary”❤
They are the Luntayao Family from The Voice Generations. They were under Coach Stell (which has a ppop group named SB19) and they were teach how to harmonize and acapella effectively. I know Coach Stell is very proud of this group! They deserve to perform in front of international people specially AGT! You guys nailed it! I felt you guys remember all the learnings you gained from Coach Stell. Congratulations L6 ❤

Actually they do have 2 versions of this performance. They practiced with the track and the acapella version. Waaaay before the audition.
Simon was right, they sang much better without the backing track, they were exceptional.

I am so glad that they did not get discouraged and let them selves be thrown off their game. They retrenched and gave that song their all. As they continued singing accapella, I think they started to realize just how good they were sounding. I will not be surprised if, in the future, they will continue to sing together, but as an accapella group, and develop their style even more. They have the gorgeous vocal tones, powerful delivery and they harmonize beautifully.

I've yet to hear a Filipino sing out of tune badly, either on the X Factor, BGT, AGT, The Voice, or in clubs, and this performance justifies it as their voices soared together as one, so beautiful in every way. Outstanding. XO
Every single one of them has a flawless voice. A lot of the time, you see groups where all the voices are decent with maybe one or two great voices. They are the best group singing audition I've ever seen on this show.

That arrangement was the one they performed in The Voice Generations Philippines and they were under Coach Stell. Coach Stell of SB19 by the way did an amazing rendition of All By Myself in David Foster's concert just a few days ago. I cry why i watch them sing..i can feel the guidance of their mother while nailing that song...
It makes me cry. I know the difficulties of being in a big family living in a small houses, but don't get me wrong, it's really fun and we're happy having many siblings and each others back.
Now that we're getting older , it's nice to see that we are striving to give best and pay back to our parents and to lift each other up.
This video makes me proud more to be a Filipino❤

They came from a church choir in the Philippines since they were kids, they were used to sing a capella even at home or anywhere they used to jam without any musical instrument... when Simon told them to do it without any music they were 100 percent sure that they can do it BECAUSE THEY WERE BORN TO IT AND HAVE THE BEST EARS IN MUSICAL HARMONIES... Pinoy kasi yan kaya ganun...

The Celine Dion version took the song to the stratosphere and Eric received a mountain of money as a result. ❤️ Similar to how Carole King wrote Natural Woman but Aretha embodied the song and it’s her powerhouse version everyone loves. AGT's marketing team deserves a raise, they just summoned an entire nation by simply releasing this clip early.
Simon has a HUGE point. Sometimes, when groups like this one perform with tracks, some of their voices get lost and it leaves not much room for expression. You can just hear the raw power of these amazing voices without the backing track.

I was about to give up on worship. I lost everything this year..my marriage, my name was slandered, hated, abandoned, I became a single mother overnight, had kidney issues, lost my sight temporarily, stopped singing, stopped playing...just stopped....wind knocked out of me...but this song caused me to RESPOND...
So proud of them! Before I’ve been watching them sing gospel song on our church which is Seventh Day Adventist Church & watched them performed on Philippines Got Talent way back 2009 but now they already achieved their goals to perform at one of the biggest stage in the world! 🇵🇭🇵🇭🎉

Filipinos have a culture of community, a culture of community that makes sure everyone feels safe. When everyone feels safe, they can create art. You'd be surprised how many people are great singers if they just weren't afraid of their own voices. We celebrate each other's voices in the PI. You can hear what that sounds like in this performance.
That's not true. There are many things about Filipino culture that are toxic. Authoritarianism, patriarchy, gossip, ultra-conservatism, and disrespect of boundaries within families and friendships are commonplace, so let's not go around pretending that Filipino culture "makes sure everyone feels safe," because that is an utter lie. Filipinos have an incredibly wonderful singing culture that has nothing to do with "making sure everyone feels safe" -- let's stick to that.

That family sings a lot together and I believe their mother got them all together that way.
My mother was pianist and the church organist. My siblings all play the piano and sang in the choir. I sang Alto but I can harmonize all parts.
