Wow, that was totally out of my comfort zone! There were only 4 I ever had heard of. But at least I guessed 2 composers correct. Have to work on my knowledge. Thanks.
Omagoodness, I thought I knew a lot about music, but I CRASHED and BURNED on this! But more important, you really showed me some GORGEOUS music I've never looked into before. Perhaps we need more overtures at orchestral concerts. I'm beginning to suspect that some awesome opera overtures are forgotten because the opera as a whole didn't succeed.
With the Overture series, I unnecessarily complicated the concept of choosing options, so the tests turned out to be too difficult, it’s not so much your fault as my flaw)) I’m always trying to find a balance between complexity and interest, and from time to time the scales shift heavily to one side. And the music is really great!
Splendid! I got Egmont, Von Suppe, Mozart, Wagner, and that was it. Never heard of a couple guys, and was delighted by the Grieg. What a great piece! And kudos to you for not using a bunch of standards. I was expecting Candide, Hebrides, Figaro, but you went farther afield. Well done! And no Rossini! Always a plus!
Thanks for your feedback and support. But if almost no one can guess even half of it, then the difficulty is too high. Of course, this stimulates some, but most are just scared))
Thank you for your support, but this is of course a real test for the audience. Of course, I will finish the second part, but I won’t continue in this direction for now)) Maybe later.
I thought that it wouldn’t be difficult for you to score about 10 out of 15. And even if you only have 8, it will be a great joy for the rest of the listeners to guess 2-3))
@@adiosmusictest It was the Russians that eluded me. I work at an Opera House. But we rarely play russian Operas in Germany. It's like it doesn't exist outside of Eugen Onegin and Pique Dame. ;)
OUCH! I only got four (Wagner, Moussorgsky, Suppé and Beethoven). I also credit myself half a point for guessing that the final excerpt would be 'Armida', although I didn't know whose Armida that was going to be! Very creative video at any rate. Need I say "please, more"?
Well.I must say, very hard for us this one. Only recognised two. Light Cavalry and Egmond. There are quite a few we never heard of as well. Good test ! Great job,
I agree! I got the same two as you. I recognised Don Giovanni but I couldn't put a name to it in the time. Opera isn't my thing, though, so I was expecting to have difficulty.
I did not recognize Armida, Beatrice and Benedict and the Erickson (who was unknown to me as composer). I recognized Rimsky but, guess why, I was thinking about Sadko (which could not have been) and Gluck (but I cannot bear Gluck, therefore I did not remember the opera). I knew Grieg's In Autumn, but was sure it was something by Dvořák...😂. The rest I was able to recognize (even Nielsen's one! 😉)
I hate Rossini. He wrote, like, two overtures that are worth playing. Every other one, put them in the same key, and they are literally interchangeable.
I learned that there is a lot of music out there that I've never heard before.
It's boring to listen to the same tunes in quizzes on TH-cam))

3/15. Dismal ! Well, I really didn't know most of these overtures. Luckily the odds helped me towards the end.

Only got 6, but great fun. Everyone complaining it was too hard: consider it an invitation to go listen to lots more overtures!
Thank you for your support, but this is of course a real test for the audience. Of course, I will finish the second part, but I won’t continue in this direction for now)) Maybe later.
Now THAT was a challenge. 8/15. If I know them it takes me a second, if I don't not even 2 minutes would help.

Thank you. To be honest, I predicted that the audience results would be better than with symphonies and therefore increased the difficulty a little))
I missed three - the Rimsky-Korsakov, the Wagner (and I've heard them before...ugh) and the Erickson. That's a new one for me.
I got four (Beethoven, Mozart, von Suppé, and Nielsen)
I got six composers and five overtures correct. Great quiz! I have some overtures to listen to!
In fact, in quizzes like this, finding a good melody may even be the main goal for me))
7:40 : I was expecting Götterdämmerung for Wagner :p
I nailed six, plus two more composers....
Well.I must say, very hard for us this one. Only recognised two. Light Cavalry and Egmond.

Thank you. I try different formats. And it is very difficult to predict in advance what will be more interesting: Easier or more complex?

Hard!
This was really hard. Some really obscure pieces there compared to other tests.
Apparently, it is necessary to add a difficulty designation system (Easy - Medium - Hard) to the titles in order to warn the audience))

It's great that at least this test presented some difficulties for you.
@@adiosmusictest My friend...I cannot be omniscent! :-)
Way too hard. I found only Don Giovanni, Light Cavalry, Nabucco (I recognised this chorus of the Hebrews) and The Thieving Magpie.
Thanks for your feedback. Perhaps I really made it a little more complicated. Apparently I saw too many of the comments “Too easy”))
It was hard for me too, but I guess, my knowledge was just too little.
We all know what you would have chosen for "T" lol
A shameful four out of the batch.
me too
first!
