  • It's really incredible, all the movements our plants make every day, that go by unnoticed. Until we put a camera and catch them in the act 😁
I would like to summarize my houseplant care philosophy, for all the new followers:
➡️Houseplant care can be very easy, contrary to what you might hear
➡️The most important thing in plant care is light, not watering. You can't put plants in a corner or 5 feet away from a window and expect them to do well. Take a look at my highlighted story on light for a visual explanation of why that doesn't work
➡️Don't focus on irrelevant details. If your plant has a few brown tips, or if it lost one leaf, it's not important, if the plant overall looks healthy. Some leaves have to die. Don't worry about it unless the plant is loosing a lot of leaves in a short time frame.
➡️Experiment - take a cutting, break off a stem or pluck a leaf off and put them in water, don't be afraid to experiment, that's how you learn ☺️
➡️And last but not least important, have fun, don't stress about plants! If a plant dies, look at it as a new learning opportunity. I'm sure I've killed more plants than most people ever will. But that's how I expanded my knowledge :)

➡️ BOOK A VIRTUAL HOUSEPLANT CONSULTATION, let me help you:
Are you just starting out with houseplants and don't know where to begin? Are you struggling with certain plants, you've tried everything, but they're not getting better? You can't get rid of fungus gnat or other pests? Do you have propagation questions? Repotting questions?

Exactly. I thought my plant was dying, wilting and sad...but now I know it's not. I have a calathea plant too. Mine looks like it's wilting during the day, and then the leaves stand straight up at night! It's crazy! This just lets you know that plants really are living creatures.

I love watching the leaves move on my prayer plants! I have a red and a lemon lime in my office & talk to them when I hear their leaves moving when I’m working 😂

I thought my plant was dying. Now when it prays I shut off the grow light and let her rest.

That is so cool. They might be hiding their leaves from the sun. They prefer indirect light. Thanks for sharing. I _knew_ I saw my plant move. Gorgeous plant.

Whats the best way to take care of this beautiful plant? I got one

Hi, you should provide a minimum of 3,000 lux of light (you can use a light meter to check the amount of light). Water once the top half of the soil dries out. Your goal is for the soil to dry out in about a week. If it’s staying wet for much longer (10-15 days), you need to increase the amount of light, and/or use a well draining potting mix (2 parts potting mix, 1 part perlite). Hope this helps! 😊

Mine had some yellowing leaves ;(
White stuff at the node of the leaf :/

Hi Ankhu, hard to say anything without a photo 🙂 some yellowing is normal, older leaves die off as new ones grow. But if it's a lot of yellowing in a short time frame then something is wrong. But again, hard to say without a photo
