Aaron Rodgers has arguably the greatest game of his career, throwing for 408 yards + 4 TDs, along with 2 TDs on the ground, as Green Bay demolishes Denver.
Yep. 29/38 completed passes, 408 yards, 4 TD passes, 2 rushing scores, 1 INT (compared to 3 tossed by Kyle Orton), & a rating of 134.5. Still easily one of his top performances today. An effort that earned Rodgers NFC Offensive Player Of The Week & FedEx Air Award honors for Week 4.
It's so sad to watch the 2011-2014 packers offense and watch the current ones.Those packer offenses racked up yards and drove down the field with ease. Recievers got open no problem. Ever since 2015 (minus that magical run the table streak) the packers' offense has looked like it needs to fight for every yard. The recievers have a hard time getting open, and Aaron literally has to be on god mode for them to have any chance at winning games. If I'm not mistaken, this all started week 8, 2015. 6-0 packers vs 6-0 Broncos. The Broncos held Rodgers to 77 yards that night, and the blueprint to stopping a Mike McCarthy offense was created. High press man coverage and depending on the front four to get to Rodgers. And my goodness they have. McCarthy never adjusted his offense, and that lead to him getting fired. Hopefully the new coach gets this offense back to the glory days.
even when A-Rod was in god mode the Packers would still lose games, look at his stats vs. Peyton manning and even Brady, both QB's have more 10 INT seasons than Rodgers (only twice he threw 10+ int's)(side stat, Rodgers first QB ever to throw 300 TD's before 100 int's). Peyton Manning only experienced 2 losing seasons and led either the Broncos or the Colts combined 11 times to 12+ wins and 4 SB appearances, Brady was a backup in 2000 in the Pats last losing season, Brady has never started a losing season, the Pats without him are 14-6 (including the game Brady started when he tore his ACL, 3-1 during his suspension), including his suspended season the Pats have had 12 12+ win seasons now 9 SB appearances under Bill Belicheck with 5 wins (absurd). Aaron Rodgers was on the bench his first 3 seasons cuz Favre, in the 2 years Favre was under McCarthy an 8-8 season then a 13-3 season, A-Rod has started in 2 losing seasons now, 10-6 combined in his 2 injury years, 6-11-1 WITHOUT A-Rod since he started, ONLY 2 12+ win seasons including the season in the video. The QB is the most important player on the field, yes--but he's only one guy, and there are SO many variables to a season, not to mention the coaching/play-calling. Aaron Rodgers' career, sadly, has become the best illustration of this fact. He's the best I've ever seen play, and I don't know if he'll make another Super Bowl. .
What's funny to me about this game is how the Packers dismantled a pretty good Kyle Orton-led Broncos team but then later in the season lost to an inferior Kyle Orton-led Chiefs team lol

i wouldn’t say they were overrated. Even though they weren’t great individually, collectively as a group they were great. They made the game so easy for Rodgers and that’s more obvious now than ever. Rodgers will never put up these kind of numbers again and the main reason for that is he doesn’t have that type of talent at receiver anymore. He would still have these kinda numbers and this kinda efficiency if the receivers were really overrated..
