- In this video, I worked with @fillman86 in using his mod to update one of the models to create the spaceship from Spaceballs. I used Blender and then Adobe Substance Painter ( @Substance3D ) to create the model. @fillman86 took that and got it into @beamng, creating a fun little experience for those who are nostalgic

Sweet Spaceballs Winnebago!
Back when Rebel Galaxy: Outlaws was supposed to get mod support this was a mod I planned on doing. I'm still miffed that it never happened. Maybe for Starfield, but I kind of didn't like that one. Was super boring. But it would be kind of cool to be able to swap-out parts. Tires, mirrors, A/C unit, bumper sticker. You know the fun stuff as well as the other stuff.
Also game engine or not, celan and good geometry is should always be the goal. Esp with Unreal Engine. My understanding is, at least with unreal engine, that it will turn quads to tri's on it's own anyway. Actually I think most modern game engines will, and if they don't you probably don't want to use it. Basically always use quads because it makes sense to us and the modeling software. Don't use game engines as an excuse to build bad habits. This is not 1995 where 10 or so tri's could be the difference between 15 and 20 fps.
When I have been developing my game, clean geometry I focus on very heavily. I would of definitely baked it down from high poly to low poly, but since this was just a simple mod that won’t going to get much use I didn’t go all out clean geometry
