Saharan dust still keeping tropics quiet

- FOX 13 Meteorologist Jim Weber says all is quiet in the tropics right now. He says the sea surface temperatures are above normal, which would provide fuel if a storm did develop. Weber adds that dry Saharan air working its way across the Atlantic is keeping things quiet even though wind shear is lessening.

When did Saharan dust become a big thing?
After the last Ice Age.
Hope we don't have any hurricanes this year!
Yes after Ian last year, but I think like last year when we get to end of this month and beginning of next month the tropics could really pick up and have lot more named storms form within a few weeks.
@@ashrithreddy5967 In Texas, we hardly have to worry about hurricanes on October. It's like our hurricane season in Texas ends on October 15. Simply because we get those fall cold fronts pushing through, blocking any tropical systems heading towards our way.
@@molonlave2193 Fabulous yes for Texas hurricane season ends earlier, in Florida until November 30 since we had storms even affecting in November like last year with Nicole and before with Eta back in 2020.
Hurricanes are easy to not die from
