Never saw the musical, but I loved the black and white movie 1956. Never cared for opera or metal, didn't understand the words, but I love both now. Dan has a way of drawing me into the song. As always, loved your reaction reaction. ❤ Keep them coming!!!
I'm not an Opera fan either (especially women singers)but there are a few pieces sung by men that really "touch me". I've never liked "Time to Say goodbye" and still don't. This performance of Dan's is outstanding! In all my years, I have never seen such a versatile singer❤ Thank you for your reaction🥰
Dan Vasc open my eyes to heavy-metal. Do I like all of the songs that Dan Vasc sings as a heavy metal singer? No, however, I do have a new appreciation for the type of heavy metal songs that Dan sings. I like his 80s covers, not all of them, but I like many of them. I like some of his folk music and some of his opera music. But it all comes down to personal preference in the styles of music that you like. It’s to Dan Vasc sing every day.

This is true, opera is not for everyone. I however, enjoy the music from Phantom of the Opera. This performance from Dan Vasc is one of my favourites. I love the slightly dark tone he gives the lyrics. Great reaction, as always I appreciate a different perspective. Hail Vasc-Nation ❤️🤘✝️

Just a note -- The Phantom of the Opera is a theater musical/play and not an opera. The storyline of the play is about an opera and an opera house. Dan most definitely can sing operatic songs because of his training and vocal skills that he has developed, ie: Nessun Dorma. Brian, I totally understand your explanation about music being subjective -- it truly is. And aren't we glad that we don't have to like every song that the other guy likes!! Like you, there are songs that Dan sings that I will never, ever like because it's the song I don't like, but I can like his delivery of that song (and I most often do). That being said, I do like the theater play of Phantom of the Opera and the music that goes with it. But I really, really, really love how Dan covered this song. He had me floating and then cowering as he sang and performed. He definitely knows how to pull his listeners into the music. ♥♥
I'm still not an opera fan overall, but I love the opera songs that Dan has done, so much so that I can't listen to Pavarotti do Nessun Dorma; it just sounds wrong to me. At least you're listening to them and giving them a fair shake. Overall, I prefer Dan's solo appearances to his duets, but there are a few exceptions. I judge each song individually. Although I do like everything I've heard by Dan, I like some better than others, and the same is true of every other artist I've ever listened to. Some songs just move us differently, and there's nothing wrong with that. Keep the great reactions coming!
I totally understand. I'm a HUGE Dan fan but he has done a number of covers of Helloween and I cannot stand Helloween. Those are his only covers that I'm not crazy about. I'll watch them on occasion just because its Dan, but not often. And on Time to Say Goodbye I think Dan sounds fabulous but I'm not a fan of her kind of soprano voice. I appreciate Rehn's ability but I don't care for it personally.
