I love your explanation of the island of women and that they didn't need men. It reminded me of a recent interview I watched with Gal Gadot. She was describing her perception of the scenes filmed on the island and feeling so empowered because the scene had no men at all which is somewhat rare. She explained how many of the women's husbands happened to be onset with there children, baby strollers, etc and how that moment of gender roll swap made it even more empowering

oh come on, i love you mayim, but i kinda disagree with the message of this video! Most (if not all) superheroes have tight outfits that accentuate muscles and their bodies, they have love interests, they have weird nonsensical weapons, etc. She didn't need the man, she was clearly the hero in the movie, she just fell in love with him, and there is nothing wrong or weak about that. It doesn't make her any less of a hero. I get the logic behing the kind of videos that you do and i usually love them, but watching all the badass female fighters and Diana was pretty cool for me.
Also, the tiara isn't just an aesthetic thing, it belonged to the most fierce warrior in her island, who she loved and admired, it belonged to a strong female figure in her life and it was kind of a symbol.

Also if you look at her costume the lasso actually hooks onto her belt she wears that allows her to put her shield on her back, so the lasso just sits on the outside of her costume.
Mayim is a liberal actress in Hollywood who truly believes everything she says is wonderful and true. She is an overpaid comedian who is on screen for maybe a total of 7 minutes per episode. I wonder if she uses her money to fund poor unfortunate woman who are forced to wear tight clothing on their jobs.
i think mayim is a great actress and a very smart woman, i just disagree with her views regarding this particular film, no need to bash her as a person...
Dani Ok - Really? No need to bash her as a person? Perhaps Mayim should take your advice since she participated in foul profanity filled rant video prior to the election. Whether you like or dislike Donald Trump there is no reason to sing a song that take the Lord's name in Vain over and over and over. Find it on the Funny or Die channel where she sings with Rachel Bloom and other Grade B actors. I don't like Donald Trump either but a Jewish person should not take the Lord's name in vain. That offended me dear Dani. So before you condemn me then perhaps you should research your love of this woman.

I LOVED the Wonder Woman movie!!! Just saw it the other day. Aaaaggghhh!!! I have to go see it again, then buy it on video, then watch it 500 more times! I've been a Wonder Woman fan since the 70's and this movie was the icing on the cake for me. I highly recommend everyone go see it...please! :)
I don't knkw why this was so entertaining but I kimda just want to watch Mayim explain every movie she's ever seen to Chad now 😂

I LOVE this movie!! What I got out of it is that she was fighting for love, for justice, for those who could not defend themselves. She was a warrior, full of compassion for the defenseless, and the determination to fight to do what's right!!
To me, the "take home" of the movie is that there is no simplistic cure for evil, and that while humanity is woefully corrupt, our ability to love makes peace worth striving for.
He looks so empowered! Haha. I really hope you did love the movie. I thought it was great!
I haven't seen it either..yet. Wonder Woman was always my favorite superhero growing up. Probably because of the TV series.

I do find the U.K. pronunciation interesting, considering the word lasso ends with just one vowel. I get the pronunciation of words with "sch", or that Wall Street changed the spelling of aluminium, as well as how y'all say "mauve" (which I have adopted), but lasso is lost on me. How do you pronounce taco? Photo? Tempo?

When WW jumps out of the trench and starts towards the German lines and the Germans are throwing everything at her and she kneels down behind her shield and pushes on!...I jumped up (no joke, and I was in a theater) and yelled 'YES!'...it was that inspiring.
you are very fortunate to have such an awesome friendship. They are real hard to come by.
So they explain in some comics that the bracers pull objects to them. So they don't stop time and she blocks, they aim for her head and she wills it to her arms. This includes energy blasts etc. Its also why she is able to wear next to nothing and doesn't die in a hail of arrows, bullets, and energy blasts (Though nothing explains why she wouldn't chose to wear more). In theory if you fired a flame thrower at her all the flame would just hit the arm bands. Oddly enough they are supposedly weak against slow attacks. So superman could walk up casually and strangle her with a slow move but a supper fast punch would be drawn to her bracers and since its magic break his hand. (Not that he would want to do that, just showing how powerful they are against "fast projectiles") That said I have no Idea why she moves her arms.... Seems like she could put them behind her back and that would still work..... maybe she just does it because it looks cooler..?

Another Warrior Princess you might critique is Xena General(retired) of the Army of Ares, driven by a newly discovered conscience to undo (so far as possible) the acts of her army.
I wish there was a video breakdown of the parallels between the Amazonians in Wonder Woman (2017) and the IDF. Like Wonder Woman's speech about how... instead of sending off millions of soldiers to die/and hiding behind them (I'm loosely paraphrasing that part) the leader should be at the front and LEAD the soldiers, like how in the IDF, the top rank in the unit *ensures* that the entire unit survives (first one to go in, last one to go out) . I don't know if this applies to other militaries like in the US or Canada but I'm open to learning :)

Wonder Woman doesn't find that she needs men, she finds the man needs her. Wonder Woman like Superman doesn't really need weapons. She has super speed, strength, durability like Superman. She can throw her tiara like Captain American throws his shield. In DC comics she is one of thee three top characters.
Wonder Woman, was a skeptic before watching the movie, went to the theater, got hooked, yes, Gal Gadot is gorgeous and all but the movie was really fun and I would watch it ten times more, great movie!

I've been reading Wonder Woman since I was five. Have seen most of the cartoons. The series with Lynda Carter. Super Friends. I've read dozens of origins, timelines, multiple Earths, etc. Wonder Woman is cool. One of the women I do landscaping for asked me about the movie and comics. She knows I love comics. I used to have over 50,000 of them. Read about 70,000 in my whole life. Ask anything and I may remember it. When my wife, Samantha, passed in January of 2014 and I went through what I did her tweak brother stole them along with lots of other stuff. Still have the memories though. She asked about if Wonder Woman was considered a certain way because of how she's dressed. I told her I never thought of her that way and the same with lots of other characters. You can pretty much tell what characters are being used to get dirty minded people to read them. I've always thought of Wonder Woman as a role model. The stories have always been good to me. She said that she is going to see the movie and wanted to know what I thought. That my answer already confirmed what she knew. Have a good weekend.

She didn't just fall in love with Steve Trevor the second he hit the island. They spend half the movie getting to know one another first. The first half of the movie, he was only helping her find ares.

There is, indeed, the Island of Women, in Quintana Roo, Mexico! Isla Mujeres, right across famous Cancun. The best spot in the Mexican Caribbean. This video was hillarious... lol... loved it. Mayim, you are awesome.

Hello Mayim, I would have preferred to see a video with you talking about Wonder Woman with someone (male or female) who saw the move, appreciates the story and the very important messages it gives to society. For me, Wonder Woman acknowledges the Female Principal of the Divine. It shows the true nature of what it meant to be a female before humanity dismissed women and the power that is within us through religion. This power is now dormant and most do not remember that we have it. Wonder Woman is a very important film. I'm glad that it dominated the box office on opening weekend.

LOL! So of the thousands of pilots out there she falls in love with the one that sucks at his job. Since really the most important thing about being a pilot is to not crash. I guess your standards would be pretty low if you'd never seen a man before, you just take the first looser to come along. I live with a pilot and thank goodness he has never crashed!

As someone who's knows a bit about Greek mythology, something in the movie that makes no sense is that ARES IS THE PATRON GOD OF THE AMAZONS so why would she spend the whole movie trying to kill the patron god of the amazons
My daughter & I went to the theatre dressed up as Wonder Woman...YES, both of us. There was a table of 30 women having drinks at an outdoor patio/bar area at a restaurant & when they saw us they jumped up & roared with applause & delight. My 4 year old daughter had no idea what was happening because she is convinced we are Wonder Woman & everyone should already know this. My baby girl also knows that Mommy saw Wonder Woman on TV when she was 4 years old (1st epidode, 1st run) & has been waiting 40 years for the movie to come out.
