The anterior thalamic radiation is reciprocal white fibers that connects the anterior and medial thalamic nuclei to cerebral cortex (corticothalamic and thalamocortical fibers. The anterior nucleus receives afferent from mammillary body and projects fibers to cingulate gyrus via the anterior thalamus radiation that crosses the anterior limb of internal capsule.
