    If I desire that a fluid over a bed, inlet on top and outlet in bottom, but I need that the solid don`t escape through outlet, how I need to set? Because when I tried that, all solid gone =(

  • @orlandopalone80

    Thank you for your precious tutorial. One question: is there a particular reason for which you select 0.6 as volume fraction when you patch? Does it mean that initially the bed is fixed? Do I need to possess the initial value of volume fraction or is it just ok to put 0.6? Thank you

    • @samaffleck
      @samaffleck 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A volume fraction of 0.6 (or a voidage of 0.4) is a common voidage at minimum fluidization velocity. The actual value will depend on your particle size, shape and density but 0.6 is a good approximation.

      Hi friend,
      Eulerian Model: The Eulerian multiphase model in ANSYS Fluent allows for the modeling of multiple separate, yet interacting phases. The phases can be liquids, gases, or solids in nearly any combination. An Eulerian treatment is used for each phase, in contrast to the Eulerian-Lagrangian treatment that is used for the discrete phase model. With the Eulerian multiphase model, the number of secondary phases is limited only by memory requirements and convergence behavior. Any number of secondary phases can be modeled, provided that sufficient memory is available. For complex multiphase flows, however, you may find that your solution is limited by convergence behavior.
      VOF Model: The VOF model can model two or more immiscible fluids by solving a single set of momentum equations and tracking the volume fraction of each of the fluids throughout the domain. Typical applications include the prediction of jet breakup, the motion of large bubbles in a liquid, the motion of liquid after a dam break, and the steady or transient tracking of any liquid-gas interface.

    Thank you for the great tutorial sir! I just want to ask how to insert chemical reaction in fluidized bed? I tried turning on the species transport (with volumetric rxn) and typed in my activation energy and preexponential factor, but no rxn happened after the calculation. I also tried to use the particle surface reaction but still no reaction happened. What could be my mistake?
    My reaction is CuO (s) + SO2 (g) + 0.5 O2 (g) ---> CuSO4 (s)
    Inlet gas composition: SO2, O2, N2
    Catalyst: CuO/gamma-Al2O3
    Hoping for your reply. Thank you so much!

    Additional cells might have been marked because of the requirements of the
