item rarity is by distance and not place, I think
Items are based by distance from first place and if it's not a full 12 player race it changes certain chances for items.

Yes definitely build a space shuttle and make it a speed build kit. Take my money!
Maybe try a Bullet Bill with no wings, but use an EDF motor (or just an interior mounted prop with an air inlet in the center of the nose) in the center and if the whole object spins along it's axis it may fly stable

Sidenote: if you turned the arms down, can they function as landing gear? maybe freeing up space for more flight surfaces and slightly making it closer to the game version in terms of look.

PRINGLES CAN PLANE?!? Ive had the idea to build a pringles can into an RC plane ever since I started watching Flite Test. After watching so many of your videos, I made a prototype in AutoCAD and got to work. It would glide for a moment, however I have not had the money to buy a power pack or receiver so I couldnt fly it. So until I can get my first receiver and power pack, I challenge FliteTest to the Pringles Can Challenge! Make it fly!

I bet the aerodynamics would be pretty rough, but I'd love to see a flying blue shell.

IIRC They made a Blue Shell quadcopter for an episode once
Tkor made a floor riding red shell so that's what he closest thing I know
I actually designed a 3d printed gremlin frame that is the blue shell. Just search thingiverse for "koopaquad."

Very cool. I couldn't help, but notice how closely the aft stabilizers resemble the emergency escape shuttle, which was planed for the space station. It was the X-38. I'd love to see the science fiction based Leif Ericson done up, in this medium, please. I'm sure it'll fly, but you may need slightly oversized bow planes, at the "conning tower" section of the craft. Would also be interesting to see the scout ship this model came with, as well. Thanks for an amazing video. :)

Neat idea. You could have put the thrust inside the shell and had ducted intakes. All the control surfaces would be inside. Would handle horribly but it's silhouette would be more normal.

Excellent! My first thought was, instead of tail wings on the back, how about a ring about 3" larger in diameter, and about 3-4" long with four standoffs. The standoffs (which of course would be located between the cylindrical body and the outer circle) could incorporate control surfaces for yaw and pitch.

First of all thanks you all for all of the content and support. How about a jet style internal engine coming in from the mouth and out of the rear, make the rear wing fixed and servos on the hands and rear rim. Just a thought to keep the bullet bill look.

Would it have maybe been a good idea not to do a solid conical nose?
What I mean is, make a square grid of plates that allow airflow directly through the entire front face of Bill, and trim the front edges such that any profile appears to have the bullet shape. With a bit of paint on it the only thing that would look different would be head- or tail-on views of the bullet.

You should have put a propellor under the fists, in a drone fashion, I think that would maybe do it. I would know though, I’m not scientist. I’d really like to see an updated version with this idea explored.

You should try to do a special episode with all the original cast membership together, Chad, Josh #2, the sweed..and due a simple build with the old tv in the intro. Never forget were you started from.
Kudos to the crew for some excellent pictures. Josh, excellent video. You brought up some interesting points: a) even a crash is a learning experience, we often focus on the positive outcomes and sometimes disregard the negative ones. Secondly, working with foam core allows for those negative , and often more important results, to come at a very low price compared to conventional construction.
Try making two big RC planes, put airsoft guns on them, and dogfight!
Or make it big enough for a paintball gun, that way you can see the hit marks.
I love you guys, I've been a quad pilot since 2015 I've always loved Aviation my whole life and haven't really been around it that much. flite test has made me I want to start flying RC planes, I just bought some foam board and I'm about to drop $200 on your guys's site on some pieces to just build a ton of different planes using foam board!!!!! which I just love hah a lot cheaper than quads but you're tailspin episode that's where you pulled me in and I'm a huge fan of Nintendo I would love to see the plans for Bullet Bill keep doing what you're doing you guys are one of my favorite TH-cam channels!!!!

Design a bunch of foam board lifting bodies so we can put wings, flaps and fins wherever we want so it looks cool without the need to worry about lift.
Their enthusiasm and excitement when something flies, makes me wanna get into the hobby.

You won't regret it, once you have outlayed some money and knowledge you can just keep on repurposing the same gear to make some fun stuff.

Flite test, do you sell a tool kit to make chuck gliders. That would be a good way to start. Would like to try and build a twin sparrow for my nephew, and put a mario paint scheme on it...just searched and saw the crafty kit.
Have you guys thought about building a flyable Star Wars Imperial Probe Droid? That would be cool to see.

Another way to disguise the horizontal and vertical stabilizers might be to shape and paint them so they look like a Mario Cart stylized “muzzle blast”.

I think the engines are forward force is overwhelming the control capacity of wing and thus making it spin after a otherwise successful launch. I think lowering the forward thrust after achieving airodynamic lift is achieved.
