    It depends on the baby all babies have different reactions to products some babies require all natural and some don't I have four children and they were all different a few of them can use J&J but one breaks out in a rash the same things require with other products such as diapers and laundary soap point is that they are all different and react different to certain products so really it depends on the child, I also belive that if you start your child on something at birth they are less likely to be affected, I don't feel that natural products are best for all

    When my son was a baby I stood away from the average everyday run of the mill baby product. Including this one. I read that it makes babies chucky. Well I didn't have that problem with my son being that way. the product i use i researched and made sure they where good for him. Now that he is a toddler i do use this product cause his body can handle it better now.

    Usually love your videos, not so much this one. Read Johnson and Johnson ingredients uh no way that is touching my baby! We gave away the Johnson and Johnson that was gifted to us and moved on to more gentle options.

      ***** I'll say again................ cocamidopropyl betaine: A synthetic surfactant found in shampoos and soaps, which is associated with allergic dermatitis.
      sodium hydroxide: Found in laundry detergent, soaps, and face washes. The EWG cites studies that show moderate evidence of metabolic effects even at very low doses
      sodium benzoate: Primarily used as a food preservative, also found in a wide range of products including cosmetics, shampoo, body wash, mouthwash, toothpaste, and moisturizers (to name a few). When combined with ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and potassium benzoate (another preservative), sodium benzoate creates benzene, a well-known carcinogen. Researchers have found a link with cancer and ADD.
      fragrance: Sometimes called “parfum,” and found in most yummy-smelling cosmetics and cleaning products, even those that are labeled “natural.” Generally, phthalates are added to fragrance to help the scent last longer, and companies are NOT required to disclose the presence of phthalates.
      phthalates: Chemicals primarily used in plastics, and also many cosmetics, where they act as lubricators. Linked to early puberty, autism, obesity, and birth defects. Due to the growing collection of alarming studies, phthalates are being phased out of many children’s toys and products in the U.S., and their use has been heavily restricted in Europe since 1999 (for toys only). You won’t see phthalates on a label-most often they are included in “fragrance” or “parfum.”

      @goodmaro 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ChelseaStLaurent The EWG is, unfortunately, full of it. ALL kinds of washing are "associated with allergic dermatitis". How does cocamidopropyl betaine COMPARE to OTHER ingredients with similar function? I know it reduces the irritancy of at least some anionic surfactants when mixed with them. I used alkamidopropyl betaines in my patented non-irritating formula.
      Sodium hydroxide is used just to NEUTRALIZE ACIDS, and is in turn neutralized by them. Whatever "metabolic effects" EWG is finding "at very low doses" are meaningless, since the human body always has plenty of sodium & plenty of hydroxide ion.
      Benzoate being decarboxylated by ascorbic acid to benzene? OK, I guess it happens, but that must mean it takes place in many fruits that contain both those substance.

      Robert Goodman
      Parents everywhere need to be better informed about the products that go onto and into their babies/children. This is not a complicated subject....It's as simple as.....do I hydrate my babies skin with chemicals or no chemicals? Do I help heal my babies diaper rash with chemicals or no chemicals...and so on. This isn't a major subject in the grand scheme of things.

    • @goodmaro
      @goodmaro 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ChelseaStLaurent No, it's not as simple as that. No chemicals means no substance. You can't compare any substance with "no chemcals", all you can do is compare substances/chemicals with each other (or with nothing, as diaper rash will eventually go away on its own).
      So what substance would you prefer to cocamidopropyl betaine as a "soap"? What chemical would you prefer over NaOH to neutralize acids? (Would you rather use, for instance, ammonia or triethanolamine?)

    • @ChelseaStLaurent
      @ChelseaStLaurent 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Robert Goodman I in fact do have the simple choice of chemical or non chemical products. There are several essential oils I can use instead of chemical creams and lotions, caledula creams or oils, aloe vera right from the plant, I can even leave it alone and allow my child's body to heal itself as you suggested(and that's just a VERY small list). I choose to use natural and more holistic products to help my children's(my own) common every day ailments. I'm not at all against parents using J and J products if that's what they choose. I however will stick with companies and products I trust to have my child's best interests at heart. I do not believe J and J is one of those companies.
      You will not succeed in changing my mind and I know I will not change your mind. I feel we should just leave it at that....agree to disagree if you will. I respect your right to have an opinion as well as your willingness to defend what you believe.

  • @DK_1977
    @DK_1977 9 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I will be polite and just stress the following: if J&J works for you IT DOESN T MEAN IT S HEALTHY ON THE LONG RUN. NATURAL PRODUCTS CAN TRIGGER ALLERGIES LIKE J&J PRODUCTS YES OF COURSE BUT ONCE YOU FIND THE ONE THAT WORKS FOR YOU YOU CAN BE SURE YOU RE DOING NO HARM TO YOUR KID. Regarding this video; Elle has to earn a living, sadly she decided to promote this brand instead of an organic one. ELLE please "study" a bit more and you will note that science has moved forward and brought answers that doesn't suit all brands....

    • @DK_1977
      @DK_1977 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you but I don't trust your chemicals on the long run even if my skin has absolutely no reaction to them. It's not only about immediate reaction on your skin but it's more about reaction on the long run like cancer..

    Everyone in my family have used these products & we have had no issues. In fact, my son can't use any other product that is not J&J. I love using them on myself as well & so does my husband. If you don't like the product then don't buy it, don't try to make it seem like they're the bad guys just because you're child had a bad reaction. You're opinion is you're opinion. & what you might like could be different from somebody else.

  • @mt-pu3ls
    @mt-pu3ls 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Oh, and citric acid is found is orange peels, so... yeah.

    • @mt-pu3ls
      @mt-pu3ls 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** So the companies you're criticizing for using orange peels in their products could be doing the same thing in theory, could they not? According to the logic you're presenting, products can not be judged based on ingredients alone, but the purpose for those ingredients. Perhaps the natural companies are using orange peels to do the same thing, and therefore the orange peels are making the products even more suitable for a baby's skin.

    Johnson's baby products like Head To Toe Baby Wash contains perfume.
    Is that necessary besides exposing babies to perfume allergy and increasing the price needlessly.
    Shouldn't all baby products be perfume free?
