    One class I took was more about selling machines than actually learning how to use your serger. I really wanted a refresher on setting for different things my serger might do. Dissapointed. Another class was selling a system. I got a lot from the stablizer class and the sleeve pattering class.

    • @MariSews
      @MariSews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think I’m definitely going to avoid the lectures. I don’t need to pay someone to give me a sales pitch. Good to hear about the sleeve pattern one tho. That was on my mind.

    Your embroidered flower is stunning - I wish I had taken that class with you! That was such a bummer about the one class you walked out on. I had a similar experience from one teacher last year. 🧵 You're like me - you prefer the art quilts over the traditional style 😊 It was so awesome seeing you again Mari - I always love spending time with you!!

    You are hilarious! You'll have that David quilt done in a blink. I agree about the people being the best - of course it was. And your Grandma Survival Kit was the best! I had to look up Pink Whitney because I'm such an alcohol noob. But you can bet I'll be putting it in something! And making little clip tethers for those pacifiers! Also - I peeked inside and it's still fabulous. So you're fab talented even when you're living it up with moonshine. Love you - come back to Florida and stay awhile - xoxoxox

    Mari, I was in that Secrets of Bagmaking class too and I was totally disappointed. It was a sales pitch that turned me off and also her constant reference of hiding your secret boyfriend or husband's phone in various compartments in her bags. I walked out because I felt like it was a waste of time and wasn't learning anything and also I was getting ready for the fashion show. All in all I wasn't too impressed with my classes except for Jim Suzio's class. He's great! 😊

      Oh, you’re so welcome. And, I just had to buy that kit. I was talking about it all Friday night, and even woke up with it on my mind. Thankfully my mother-in-law negotiated a bit of a discount because I could have bought a machine for the price of that kit. I have no regrets tho! A year flew by! It’s been an amazing one too

    Hi Mari! It was so good to meet you at the Sewing Expo and thank you again for the glasses case. It was such a nice surprise and it means a lot to me! I took some fitting classes at the Expo and they were mainly lecture but I learned a lot and I'm anxious to put it all in to practice. In the past, I have taken a few of the sewing workshops and enjoyed them. In one of them, I made a cover for my sewing machine. Of course, I do remember that all machines were provided in the class and if you wanted to purchase a machine, you easily could do just that. What is that Sew Magical that you mentioned? Is it a cruise? Wouldn't that be something? To get the Sew Sisters together on a sewing cruise? WOW! I can see it now...

    • @MariSews
      @MariSews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Deb! I’ve been trying to convince them…maybe next year. There’s a regular convention in FL and then there’s a cruise ship event in December. Sounds amazing
