As a youth in the 90s I had a belt drive turntable that kept slipping. We try everything with it and finally took it to Mark Dragon. We expect some big diagnostics and troubleshooting fi gwaan. The man fix it within minutes with a piece of paper tape. McGyver settings. The belt never slip again after that.

You see you learn something everyday: I had no idea that Dragon built Masterpiece: early 1990's, went over to a dance in Spanish Town (Stone Love vs Masterpiece) ... Masterpiece had this especially clean sound to it; it wasn't as big as Stone Love but Masterpiece was neat and clean. Now I know, Dragon built it: FYI, Dragon tuned Stone Love as well.

That bldg where Innercity was based had a sound system way back in the late fifties owned by an Indian man named A Williams
He used to play mostly Rhythm & Blues
Singers like Louis Jordan,Fats Domino, Ruth Brown,Frankie Ford etc
He used steel horn and House of Joy bass bins
He ran a bicycle shop and a bar

Them man a living legend. Mi used to love to go Inner City: it was the cleanest I have ever heard in my life. There are heavier sounds, Jack Ruby, Jammys, etc. but no sound had Inner City's clean sound. It makes complete sense with Dragon's Engineering background.

Inner City big bad sound from inna the late 80s - early 90s rate yuh bad bad selector inna real life. I've been to so many dances with Inner City both Clashes and Juggling I've seen you win some loose some as for the great losses ( The first time uhnuh play Black Kat with PinkPanther At Red Bank St.Elizabeth Inner City dead like dawg it was a landslide victory for Black Kat straight. Another one that stand out was Silver Hawk in Mandeville Manchester behind the bus restaurant Silver Hawk was victorious that night. Then there was Body Guard at Vear in Clarendon can't forget Johny and Tony played 1 hour of Punany Riddim pure Dubplates then last but not Least Super Saint with Captain Midnight killed Inner City over Morgan's on Porthenderson back road with pure 45s Midnight said he wasn't there to kill any sound but to beat and teach pure gun shot for all the Old Hits songs that Super Saint played. Differently I've seen Inner City killed almost ever sounds in dem time except BassOdyssey & Road Star inna real life......

That Inner City Vs Stone Love at House Of Leo was the bomb that night Stone Love dead inna real life.... but the returned leg over at Portmore Ent. Center St.Catherine Dragon wasn't there it was Blaka Ranks and Mark Gulbie RiP to both selectors however that night was Stone Love night straight !

Yow mussel, it's really so damn Sad to hear Mark Dragon making himself sound as if he was inner-city , wally was my father friend and I remembered when wally just started building his sound with some small boxes which didn't sound too well then wally built his top award sound And for the record Wally didn't start out with no little tube amplifier, to get the true story of inner-city beginning and end you'd have to hear the real truth from Wally himself, truth be told these selectors along with the high demand in dub plates costs caused inner-city owned by Wally to be destroyed. It was said Mark Dragon took away inner-city dub plates and migrated , this eventually destroyed wally and his interest in the sound. Bro, you can hear the folly story of Mark Dragon as he speaks. It a pity you never got a interview from the horse mouth which is Wally himself. INNER-CITY was no easy walk over sound system, wally wife, Ms brown control the little wholesale and Wally control the bar aka inner-city Hq . Wally invested all his hard earned money along with Ms brown money in that sound. Real sad to see some selectors who make their names from people dub plates and for their deeds. Glamour wayne good selector but Mark dragon. Different class. Wayne can play sound like Mark no time. Speech and talk Mark have that over glamour wayne. I remember Gemini come a east and lose clash and Mark come with city the next week and kill the same sound wey mash up glamour wayne the week before.
