Let's say you watch pornography every now and then but it's really not an addiction, is it still sinning!?!?! Answer: Y.E.S. Same thing with drinking, it's like you're getting as close to the edge as possible, God doesn't want that! Don't have that just one drink mentality. So although technically in the very roots it's not a sin. Getting that close to sinning is a sin! Don't test God brother, don't test yourself, and don't test your capabilities. The comparison you're making between drinking and watching open isn't an equal one, though. Watching porn in & of itself is a sin. Drinking an alcoholic drink in & of itself isn't sinful. Drunkenness is the sin!! Besides that I agree with you...
Joe, about the drinking, a preacher put it this way; I might be someone who can handle having just one drink, but if someone who can't handle having only one sees me drinking and that tempts them so that they start drinking and become an alcoholic or return to alcoholism, then I am responsible for their relapse😢 That is why I personally will never drink any form of alcohol
