it's nice they gave him that moment in the show, since historically the tactic of pretending to get baptized to be buried in a Christian city in order to attack it from the inside was a Bjorn Ironside tactic, not a Ragnar one. So the show at least included Bjorn in it to some extent.
@@Kevin-xk3me “Vikings,” the people of Luna might have replied, “we did not trust you before, but you know what? You seem like decent, heavily armed people. We’d be happy to give that dead Hastein of yours a Christian burial, as that seems the Christian thing to do.” After allegedly making that very stupid decision, a viking funeral procession carried Hastein to the grave site. Here’s the kicker: Hastein wasn’t dead. No sh*t, right? Hastein jumped from his coffin, fully armed, and promptly murdered Luna’s bishop, who was presiding over the false funeral. Some sources say Hastein stabbed the bishop in the neck, others say he cut the bishop’s head clean off. Either way, killing that bishop really shook things up in Luna. In the ensuing chaos, Hastein and his vikings sacked the city
@Dio-xo9rv stop lying to the public, we don’t even know if Ragnar was the same person. The guy name was Ragnar, but it wasn’t the Ragnar this show was made for. Show us your proof that Ragnar from this show sack Paris.
@@dannyjohnson236 he isnt lying, we dont know for sure but its possible the first siege of Paris was carried out by ragnar lothbrok. And the second one was definitely Rollo. Though of course they weren't brothers and definitely never met in real life so the show takes a lot of changes on
i commented this to a few reactors for this episode. Ragnar's tactic in conquering Paris was actually done by Bjorn in real history. Bjorn was battling a castle and kept failing, so he converted to Christianity and then pretended to be dead. When receiving a proper Christian burial, he popped out the coffin and fled to cut the gates open for his men to charge in. So I felt that with Bjorn raising his arms for the attack, was a nod at it being a part of the real Bjorn's history.
It's really wild how Ragnar only really trusted Bjorn and the pallbearers to come into the city with him. Bjorn is so devoted to his father and their relationship is so interesting to me because Ragnar isn't the coddling type of dad and Bjorn is just as hungry as Ragnar is so it's a lot of fun. I was actually really happy for Rollo by the end of this for some reasons. He has an amazing blood line too, a lot of future European rulers are descendants of his.
@@vdknights spoilers Spoilers I actually thought he was gonna die because i was spoiled before i started the show and i heard ragnar was going to die but i didnt know when. So throughout the episode i was worried that he was actually dead, lol
btw, this has been great watching all of your videos for vikings up to this point. Its my favorite show ever because Ragnar is my favorite character ever just in front of Tyrion from GOT.
Also if you at history Rollo was story. Duke of Normandy and Count of Rouen. Rollo was a Scandinavian Viking who became the first ruler of Normandy in 911
I've said this before, but you all are the best reaction/review channel on youtube. I love that you not only react, but you have a discussion after the episode. That's rare! And it's *great* discussion, too, with different view points and opinions. You clearly enjoy the content and what you do. This scene historically wasn't Ragnar but happened to Bjorn in Italy, but this show gave the glory to Ragnar.
Explain I don’t understand.

Its funny because Ragnar hasnt been proven to be a real guy, just the ideal viking by combining a lot of famous viking stories
