All this talk about spreadsheets, and charts is making the admin side of my brain very happy. There are two ways that I track my reading. I) My Reading Journal - which is a bullet journal specifically designed for me to joint down how I read ( Audio/ Screen/ Physical) over the month and what I've read and my ratings for them. I also use this to track my readathon reading and it engages my creativity as I choose different themes for each month. II) Good Reads, Simple, effective and I can go back and see what I read overall in the year.
Hi dear cat!i was wondering if you would do an updated video on your ereader. I sold all my books last week so the release can support someone.and am now looking into buying an ereader because the ebooks are much cheaper! Would love your opinion and review how you like yours size and so on!
I use goodreads & I actually use your readathon tracking spreadsheet too! It’s really great as a way to track how many pages I read per day when I’m reading multiple books at once
I use Goodreads, my bullet journal, and a spreadsheet to track my books read. But also to track my book collection and hauls each month. I have a separate notebook that has all of my collections in it which I love to have on the side as well. My bullet journal has my books read, reading challenge, an overall read list, hauls, pages read, my a-z reading challenge. It has everything for it and it’s great for that. I love having my spreadsheet to keep track of everything and it’s a great way to have a lot more specific details of what I’m reading and have read. I use your tracker for the converters a lot. And I used it during a read a thon and it was great to have! Goodreads I do use frequently but really mainly as a way to rate and review books but I do love seeing the overall stats on it as well!
I am a journaler so I like to print out a pic on Pinterest of the covers on the books after I read them and if the book really affected me I even write about it. As well as keep a monthly read list.
I keep one book (Bibliophile Reading Journal) only for 5 star or favorite books ever. I keep a reading journal with my answers to tags, etc. it’s a daily journal with notes about characters etc. I am a mess with my TBR. I have Goodreads, an excel spreadsheet, a list, blah blah. I have hundreds!!
I use the bookriot spreadsheet with added columns for the other book challenges I take part in. I also add them to goodreads but I'm always forgetting to update goodreads until months later xD
I use Goodreads, a spreadsheet and a reading journal! Goodreads is mainly to track want to read and reviews, spreadsheet I fill out at the beginning of the month with genres, total pages, etc. Reading journal tracks almost everything! Daily pages, Readathon challenge, mini first thoughts/spoilers, number of books read, TBR shelf, challenges - popsugar/similar stuff, books bought, film adaptations, author gender, rating, age range, genre, page count in ranges... I track a lot. I set my reading goal at 100 this year, but I normal read about 40 in a year previously... I’ve read 93 books this year! It really helps me to see it visually.
I use goodreads but this year I’ve really gotten into spreadsheets too. I mean, I’ve always loved them but I only this year started to use them for tracking my reading. I’ve been using your readathon tracker as a month long tracker for a few months now - I actually even use the challenge feature to estimate how many pages I need to read a day before books are due back at the library. I also have a spreadsheet of my own creation tracking info on each of the books I’ve read this year, just different things like release year and author gender and nationality (and many many more). One of my partners is a data analyst and is going to help me do some cool stuff with all the data at the end of the year, we even recently came up with the idea of also importing the data from my mood tracking app (Daylio) and seeing how mood might have affected my reading! I think I’m more excited to dig into my data at the end of the year than I am about Christmas - I don’t know what that says about me.
I use Goodreads mainly but only because it is owned by Amazon so my Kindle is linked to it and it automatically records my start and finish dates and star ratings. I do have Brock's 2019 spreadsheet and I set it up right at the beginning of the year but I have fallen behind with keeping it up to date.
o h my g o o d! please teach us how to do all the sheet stuff! that looks so well-organised, i love it! and i wish i could do the same! could you do a sort of a tutorial pleeaseee?? xx
Yo solo uso goodreads, antes usaba una libreta pero me acostumbre a usar solo goodreads aunque creo que empezaré a usar hojas de excel para monitorear mis avances :) Soy nueva en booktube🖤
I'm so bad at tracking my reading... I did try to use a jkurnal this jear but besides writing down tht title I didn't do anything 😅 I only did my goodreads goal
I use my country equivalent of Goodreands (called lubimyczytac.pl = "welovetoread") but since August I use your spreadsheet monthly. I was thinking of creating yearly overview based on monthly spreadsheets which could import a list of completed books, start and end date, how many days did I read them and maybe some statistics based on that... Have you thought about that (adding it as a companion spreadsheet provided that individual monthly ones have a certain naming format and are saved in the same folder)? I will see if I am able to crack that before the end of a year.
I use a spreadsheet to keep track because I love more details and graphs. But I have to use goodreads to keep track of my TBR because I don’t even remember what books are on my shelves. Lol
In 2018 I was writing down what days I completed reading in a planner. 2019 I tried using excel but thinking for 2020 plan is to write them in a bullet journal. I seem to be doing better writing things down by hand then recording them in my excel spreadsheet.
I used Goodreads and just write all the books I need to read each month in a notebook. I am a book reviewer and I get so many books (mostly ebooks) to review that I find that is the only way I can keep track. I don't even pretty up my notebook pages because I have no creativity and i don't really have the time.
Sumaiya Islam I started off just by reviewing books I purchased then joined NetGalley. Once I got a good amount for followers I started sending emails to publishers. Also good to do is follow authors on Facebook because some are looking for bloggers.
I looooove tracking my reading; it weirdly helps me to read more. :D I really want to make a video on how I do this because it's such a big part of my reading experience. Your spreadsheets!
Omg those spreadsheets are SPEAKING to me. Sadly I barely have time to read, let alone record it all 😭 I just have my shelf of books I haven’t read yet and every now and again see how far through it I’ve gotten and if I can actually remember which books it was I read 😅
I track my reading in my bullet journal... that I only use for reading trackers haha!! I get inspiration from AmandaRachLee here on TH-cam! I just did her October spread in my video that went live this morning :) th-cam.com/video/RaZVz7P3vQE/w-d-xo.html
Well, I am just a complete slacker on this. I write down the title, author, number of pages and month and year I read the book. I try to write it down in a specific notebook, usually something spiral-bound, but I've been known to write in the nearest notebook at hand. It's not that I'm lazy. It's that I've been keeping track as well as I can since I was 14, which was 1968. Now that I'm retired I'm unhauling many of my physical books and relying on my e-reader and the library. I've always been a fast reader so I read a little over 100 books per year even when I was teaching full time and raising kids. Recently, life has kept me busy with other things and I've been a little off my reading. I'm participating in Victober to get back on track. I should probably consolidate all those notebooks into a life list just like a birdwatcher! lol

Any update?
I only have GoodReads and my reading journal.
That’s what I have. I write down the page number and add them up at the end of the month!
All this talk about spreadsheets, and charts is making the admin side of my brain very happy.

So that's why the spreadsheet had an uptick in downloads. This makes me happy and I'll be smiling the rest of the day.
Ahh hooray! You've done such a great job with it, more people need to benefit!
I wish a template of the spreadsheet she created was available in the description. PLEASE. It’s complex yet soooooo organized.

I generally use Goodreads and I wrap up/haul/unhaul/readathon on my blog. I’m definitely open to using a reading journal in the new year though!
I use Goodreads, my bullet journal, and a spreadsheet to track my books read. But also to track my book collection and hauls each month. I just track my reading on GoodReads
I really missed your videos! So happy you're back!! ❤
YES! I am adding the bullet journal idea and spreadsheets to my reading routines.
Thank you for sharing I use all of the things you use. My written journal Is from Shelf love.
I use Goodreads mainly but only because it is owned by Amazon so my Kindle is linked to it and it automatically records my start and finish dates and star ratings. Can you do video on how you do your reading bullet journal?
I am obsessed with tracking things like this 🙈 I use goodreads, an excel spreadsheet and my bullet journal. So my satisfaction.
Here to share some (a lot) love since 2014!! So excited to try out the daily reading bar graph, thank you so much for posting this video ^^
I LOVEEE your hair!
Yo solo uso goodreads, antes usaba una libreta pero me acostumbre a usar solo goodreads aunque creo que empezaré a usar hojas de excel para monitorear mis avances :)
Soy nueva en booktube🖤
OMG i love your hair color !! did you do it alone ?
I'm so bad at tracking my reading... I did try to use a jkurnal this jear but besides writing down tht title I didn't do anything 😅 I only did my goodreads goal

I use my country equivalent of Goodreands (called lubimyczytac.pl = "welovetoread") but since August I use your spreadsheet monthly. Is is possible to get your version of spreadsheet to track books? It looks really amazing, be proud! :)
Yay SPREADSHEETS! This year I just seem to have a list in notes on my phone... Whoops.
I love your tracker that you made! I use it all the time!
this is super cool! gave me some ideas as well, thank you!

How did you become a book reviewer? If you don’t mind me asking
Sumaiya Islam I started off just by reviewing books I purchased then joined NetGalley. Once I got a good amount for followers I started sending emails to publishers. Also good to do is follow authors on Facebook because some are looking for bloggers.
Your hair color is making this Aquarius jealous.
I use Goodreads and a tracker app called Leio on the iPhone. I’m to lazy for spreadsheets, but I love my tracker app!
I think I wanted to try that Leio.
I love your hair color!
Oh wow I need that spreadsheet!! Awesome I love all of these methods ❤️🙂
I looooove tracking my reading; it weirdly helps me to read more. :D I really want to make a video on how I do this because it's such a big part of my reading experience. Your spreadsheets!
Yes yes, please do! Would love to see how you track your reading!
Omg those spreadsheets are SPEAKING to me. Sadly I barely have time to read, let alone record it all 😭
I just have my shelf of books I haven’t read yet and every now and again see how far through it I’ve gotten and if I can actually remember which books it was I read 😅
That spread sheet is intense and I kind of need it in my life.
I write reviews on all the books I read on my blog.
I know this is random, but i also love reading and spreadsheets. I’m curious what career choice you picked ?
I work in publishing (specifically marketing)! Not really using my love of spreadsheets, but I try to implement them as much as possible 😂
YESSSSS I needed this so bad Caz.
Bahahhs black leopard red wolf in the DNF pile lol
Have you bought soft box lights? X
Just my ring light, I had some really good natural light going that day though!
I’m on the same bullet journal and life slump as you 😭
Me too!
It's the WORST! I wanna get out but my motivation is nowhere to be found...
Your eyes are awesome 💗. Beauty with brain.
I track my reading in my bullet journal... that I only use for reading trackers haha!! I get inspiration from AmandaRachLee here on TH-cam! I just did her October spread in my video that went live this morning :)
