Check the LED resistance and put that across the LEDs to test them. Don't directly short them. Most of the time, these LEDs are in series, acting as voltage dividers. Shorting one may put too much voltage across the others, burning them out.
I have 2 bulbs that were dim. I knocked one with a knife, knocking on the yellow LED squares, to get it to jiggle back into full bright. Once I got that one working, then I tried knocking the other one, but while doing so, the first one went back to dim again. Then while trying to get that one bright again, I touched the knife to a dark part and saw a puff of smoke. Now that one is permanently dark without even a bit of bright. The other one lights up very dimly when I put the two sides of a pair of rubber handle, needle-nose pliers to each LED square like these videos always say to do. But _never_ does it cause to light up all the other LEDs when you come upon the one LED that's defective. On many LED squares they all spark to life but very dimly. I don't know what your instructions are good for. I tried putting the two sides of the pliers on each LED of the first bulb and _not one_ lights up. They all stay dark at all times. So now what?? How do I fix my 2 LED bulbs???
Thanks for sharing your video ; This is a "short term" fix / solution only but do remember that each LED draws a certain amount of current from the total available current that's applied to the globe , by bridging the gap of the "stuffed" LED - the remaining LED's will get a slightly higher amount of current through them all & their lives will be shorter than that of having all LED's working but by replacing the missing LED if possible - you'll be able to keep it working properly as intended ; the only question is to where you'll be able to buy these small SMD ( Surface Mount Device ) LED's on their own to replace the "stuffed" LED that caused the issue in the 1st place.
Everything you're saying is absolutely correct, but at least you can get a bit more use out of the bulb before it is rendered useless. Also, the dome on the bulb traps heat and causes the LED's to burn out quicker, and if you leave the dome off and drill holes in the bottom part, it will ventilate the LED's and chips, allowing them to run cooler, and giving them longer life. Manufacturers are missing a sure bet by not making a domeless LED light bulb with LED's which you could plug in and unplug as easily as you plug in and unplug an electrical cord, perhaps with the help of a simple chip puller/seater, then selling individual LED's rather than entire bulbs. I suppose that would cut down on their profit margin a bit though, and since the whole thing is about profit, they'll probably continue to prefer built-in life limits rather rather than make something which is as good as possible. There's also the question of whether consumers would buy something which looked so radically different from what they've become accustomed to using.

@owlhuman I did this to one of my burned out bulbs a couple of weeks ago. It works fine, but without the diffuser on it, it burns blindingly brightly. It's much cooler, but wow! Don't look directly at it. It's brighter than the mid-day sun on Mercury.

@@vibhordublish9914 I thought about the same thing. Measure the resistance of a good LED and go buy a resistor closest to that value. Then solder it back into the removed LED. The current should stay about the same. It is not going to be as bright. I believe it is a series circuit. Many people in the comment section recommend leaving it open. This makes sense because of heat will be dispersed easier.

I tried to check the damaged smd exactly the same way u did in the video and the bulb gave light for a second but then other smds burned immediately ... Why???
@@Pc.Farmer Thank you for your attention .... Agree with you , but he just used a piece of wire (red) for the checking and didn't mention anything about redistors.
Though a short cut a very unscientific and unprofessional way of repair. With such repair the bulb is definitely get damaged in few days The damaged led should either be replaced with new or with equivalent resistance
I wish all LED lights were obsolete. They ruin the night sky (you cannot even see stars in a city anymore), they blind you when driving from oncoming cars and they even change the colour of items, so you're unsure of the correct colour (for people who rely on colour design). I curse whoever invented LEDs. They are just awful.

I don’t have a soldering iron so how about gluing a piece of aluminum foil ?

Nice one, just leave the defuser off, they will run cooler, and the light will be better.
With the defuser off, they are super bright... maybe too bright for some.
Which part of the bulb is the diffuser? The cover (the top part of a bulb)?

realy its working
The Chinese don’t want folks repairing defective bulbs so now they’re gluing to globes to the base. They don’t just pop off any more.
Thanks, but what if you have 2 or more leds damaged? will this technique still work? Or is it only if you have 1 damaged led?
I also have 2 led damage, I thought I have to fix 2 of them but turns out I only need to fix 1. All is good now.

If you fixed like that is very dangerous, you can remove first the lamp from AC and then you can search dead led with cable and use battery

What does an LED have to do with the stars?
you are right the headlights in cars are so blinding and no one cares they should be outlawed for cars
Great, but how did you pop the top off of that bulb?
Don't think so really.far as I can see you just complete the circuit.
A knife on the edge and it pops easy off
just buy a new bulb
