Best & most beautiful "naked" bike ever. I could do without "monster" written on the tank or the other useless words glued elsewhere on the bike. And, the side exhaust needs to be replaced with the under seat dual exhaust. I rode one of these a few years ago and the powerband was incredibly tractable unlike most superbikes. I was going 90 in third gear within a handful of seconds and it felt as smooth and controlled as any bike I have ever been on. Ducati is truly a work of mechanical art.
i agree... this in april 2011 when THIS WAS UPLOADED.. is when the brand new 2011 come out, why would they wait a whole year if they could have brought this model out for 61 plate?
So I'm walking down the street and listening to my ipod and I hear this bike coming down the street I look up and it's a Yamaha, I'm like "Meh" and then I hear this Roar coming from up the street so I look again and I see this guy on a bike flying towards me and I can feel that roar in my chest from 20 feet behind me as it passes. After some more walking that bike was parked so I walked past it and it said Ducati Monster on the tank...and at this moments I came in my fucking pants.
@aluisious Well I can assure you that it isn't that bad... otherwise the monster concept wouldn't be as copied as it is... just get the original... just get the Monster... and it will happen again with the Streetfighter and the Diavel... because Ducati is... Ducati :-)
yeh maybe, but a 696 is a great leaner bike and will most likely be allowed. have you tired going on google and seeing if there are any restrictions as to what first bike you can get n Germany?
your height plays a small role in bikes, although you are quite short. what really determines it is your ability to ride. what bike do you have at the moment?
@dogg5306 TBH I would have got the Monster 1100 instead of the Triple, except the Monster ergos were horrid. I was shocked by how far I had to stretch to get to the handle bar...if it's going to be that bad, may as well just get a race replica.
yeh 696 would be a great first bike, it is what you want. however depending where you live there may be restrictions for a first bike, what country do u live in?
@@647Capital It is long gone! I could not get along with the ridiculously tall gears, and the ludicrously small fuel capacity. It was a bloody good bike though!
not really it handles better. if you are going thru curves/snakes you arent gonna be running flatout top speed anyway. I would buy a streetfighter 848 over this bike though. same price more horsepower.

@aluisious Indeed but they messed up things with the new front lights... moreover that's defenitely not a Ducati... i.e. not allowed in the club :-)
And the fuel range for this bike is.........90 miles ... or less
So if you enjoy spending time at a petrol station this is the bike for you

@raptorama In USA it's an "early release 2012" but in europe it's a 2011. This bike has been first shown at EICMA in November 2010.
i have to derate the engine so that the results will be 37hp :( a shame don't you think so ?
would be too powerful, look at bikes from the 0-700cc range for a beginner
i am from germany. maybe i can handle this problem by derating the engine ?

@@647Capital ? The Ducati 1100 Evo has a 6 speed manual transmission, as do all Ducati motorcycles. What do you mean by "automatic?"

as a first bike it would probably still be too powerful, maybe take a look at the Ducati 696 Monster
