I am not disrespecting what they did but a band must accommodate every member hopefully equally and then you are usually confined to the style and formulas you are famous for. Labels put up big money and hate risky artistic statements vs proven money. When you have the.established credentials and a trusting label then you can really experiment. Helps being the.l name and face and voice of your own brand. Freedom to try different things and prevent burnout and complacency. There is a world of content. Wonderful Tarja. I never really liked Sleeping Sun, but I love this cover. She just released the Dark Christmas album. She turned familiar songs upside down and gave them a haunting sound. The whole album is amazing. You should check out O Holy Night.
