Well done. My issue with PF is that they closed the gym for remodeling, but neglected to properly notify me before the fact. I (and many others) only found out when they showed up to find the place stripped, the notice on the door saying it would be reopened Dec 10th....which came and went. Meanwhile they continue to bill every month saying "You can use any other PF you want during the remodeling". Really?? I'm expected to drive an extra 20--30 minutes every time I work out?? This is the tell tail sign of absentee management. PF is being run by bureaucrats from the top, with no regard to the best interest of the customers.
One issue, which I think is very relevant, is that often there is NO SUPERVISION at Anytime Fitness. If you have a problem of any kind that another member cannot assist you with, you're out of luck. I think that's also a safety issue!
I agree. I think this definitely varies by locations. Both planets and anytimes near me have always had members walking around and trainers available. I’m also not in a very big city though

As an insomniac, I often get the urge to workout at random hours. So, I like the Anytime is open 24/7. Plus, it's never super busy in my area. On the other hand, PF has limited hours, and the cheaper membership fee drawns in more ppl. The local PF is always crowded until an hour before closing.
I have had both memberships as well . I switched memberships mainly because of how crowded my gym was . Was going to planet fitness and now go to anytime fitness . Anytime fitness is better if you want more strength training . Pf is better if you want to mainly cardio and some weight training . Also they offer other perks like tanning etc. also more affordable and easier to cancel .
U actually can go to a different gym with the classic membership but u just have to pay the 5 dollar gym fee in order to use it, for the black card u can go anywhere u want but if u go outside of ur franchise like another state then it’s 10 times per month and then after u r go over its 10 dollar fee. I work at PF so these r the terms.

Those initial fees suck. My water heater went out and it’s not going to be fix for at least 2 weeks. I wanted to get a membership at anytime fitness just for the private showers but I guess I’m not with those rates.
Don't get your hopes up. PF doesn't have hot showers, either. At least not in my city. They do that because they know that most of the people who use the showers are just homeless people & they want them gone.

I never could quite figure out the whole signup fee thing. Why should I pay 50 dollars to sign up for a gym membership? The Y has that - pay like 80 dollars for the privilege of filling out forms. I joined the Y some years ago on the condition of NO signup fee. They agreed. Went to PF after covid lockdowns ended because the Y stayed on covid hours. PF had a dollar signup fee, signup took 5 minutes? Set up payments to come from Paypal debit card. I don't let anyone have free reign of my bank account. Lot of people hate PF for some reason or other. Not sure why. It is a good gym. Like any gym you get out what you put in. Yes, they don't have real squat racks or 200 pound dumbbells. I can live with that. 10 bucks a month and I'm there every evening except some weekends if I must work.

It's a beginner's gym, but not enough free-weights. They have 100 treadmills & 1 calf raises machine. But the Main reason is the number of homeless people using planet fitness as a personal bathroom/kitchen.

Using the lockers for their sleeping bags/luggage. Sleeping in the stalls. Arguing over showers (competing for hot water). There's 1 calf raise machine. There's no trap bar dead lift, or free weight barbells. The barbells stop at 60lbs. (Not enough). Dumbbells stop at 75lbs. That's a lot for regular people, not really for a former varsity football player. I go to Anytime fitness for my actual workout.

The only thing i dont like about AF, is there ab equipment. They dont have any ab crunch machines.. i love the HOIST ab crunch machines that you see at Golds. And AF doesn't have different sit up benches. Something they need to adjust.
I’ve been a member at anytime fitness for over 5 years. You can’t bring a guest to anytime fitness. Each one is privately owned so it depends on the location but Ive tried to sneak my girlfriend in in several different locations and one locations approached me personally and asked us to leave the other location approached me the following day and threatened to ban me from their location and charge me a $100 fee for letting someone in who doesn’t have a membership. I get it. I was in the wrong. Just know it’s not allowed or tolerated if they catch you.
yes planet fitness is a great option for people living in cars. all the equipment you need with 24/7 access to showers and everything. super cheap and easily accessible
Go to a truck stop if possible. There's already enough homeless ppl using PF as a personal bathroom, they take up all the hot water & there's none left. Management doesn't do anything to fix it because they don't want homeless ppl there.
@@JayyDizzy its actually not. I work out at PF, you'll get hot shower 50% of the time if you're lucky, & by hot I mean luke warm. You won't know until you're standing in it. If you complain, the staff will know that you're homeless & can cancel your account. Go with a real gym or a truck stop.
results all will determine on your diet and the intensity of your workouts. if you’re brand new to the gym the 30 minute workout would be ok at first to get you used to everything. after that i would create your own workout plan. they have everything there equipment wise for you to succeed!

sorry for the confusion. At anytime fitness, I pay about $40 a month for a one year membership. 2 year membership is about $30 a month. Basically the longer the contract there, the cheaper the payment.

The lunk alarm is a major negative about platness fitness. If you drop a weight it could set it off and someone will come talk to you. Some locations even offer free junk food for members. This type of gym is obviously meant for beginners.

it’s not a literal picture of the inside of a planet fitness, it’s a picture showing an example of how a planet fitness might be laid out. every facility has a different layout. if you want an exact layout of a facility near you ask them for a tour

I don't really like Anytime Fitness because it seems like a home gym. Not much to it and stuck in shopping centers near grocery stores. Planet Fitness is large and offers much more such as massage chairs, hydromassage chairs, tanning, and red light booths. Also, their gyms are all over the place and are in stand-alone buildings. Planet Fitness is huge and has new machines if you are lucky to be near one. They just built a large Planet Fitness where I live and it's super nice and clean. Not crowded or dinky like Anytime Fitness.

You are missing the point; you're attacking Planet Fitness because it's not like Anytime Fitness, both are gyms, but they both have different demographics. Anytime Fitness is mainly for people that want to be in the top 10% of bodybuilders, they focus on people that want to be looking like He-Man. Planet Fitness is mainly focused on people that are new to bodybuilding and they also focus on people that are trying to get fit.

Probably why they dont have free (heavy) barbells, the rest of the equipment is quite safe.
That's the best part, for me at least. You can't put a price on having the gym to yourself.

It's to prevent homeless people from signing up to use the gym as a homeless shelter.

I’ve had so many different gym memberships at planet fitness. If you end up canceling and decide to go back just make a new email account and sign up.
