    Thanks for the cool overview of some future collectibles! I love those Signature Series kits... especially the Antar!

    I have an unopened pre-Damon K-29 Saturn 1B (Uprated Saturn 1) from the late 60s. The box is still stapled and taped shut. That’s the nicest piece in my collection.

    Nice video!! I built the Apogee II around 1974. Managed to get a sealed one in a recent lot buy. I managed to get a really clean sealed one of those vintage Saturn 1B kits. I like the collectability aspect as much as building and launching.

    I bought that book when you recommended it to me about a week ago. I've gotten to skim it. Looks very good.

    I still have my original X-Wing and I used to have 3 of the bigger North Coast X-Wings and even converted one to a front nose cone ejection and it worked great. I built and flew the two stage Apogee II in the early 80's, great rocket! Just subscribed, started building and flying at age 12 in 1978 and never stopped.

    I ordered the orange bullet, along with a few more, about a month ago. It came without the nose cone. And im having no luck with customer service.

      Interesting. Estes is typically pretty good with customer service and will make you whole. You may be able to return it to the place you purchased it, if it wasn't Estes.

    It's not easy to see but the actual LJ1 had black on the other side of the orange fin. Fly it in C5-3 or greater because it might lawndart on B6-4 and mess up the escape tower.

    The Estes Apogee is in the the Estes 1963 catalog. The Apogee II is in the 1964 catalog, and uses a more reliable staging system. See US patent 3,292,302 December 20, 1966 for a more reliable method of igniting the second stage engine.

    Nice good informational video, I started the ESTES Saturn V SkyLab last night, I'm going to take it slow & do it right.
    I see that you are building the Apollo 11 in 1:100 scale ESTES? It's looking great.

      Thanks. My Saturn V is done. Lately I repaired my Apollo Little Joe II

    FWIW: While there is _absolutely nothing wrong_ with scale rockets, I have never been particularly interested in them.
    THAT SAID, I have always LOVED the NIKE SMOKE. I do not know if it is just the 'look' of it or whatever, but to me the design is really cool...👍

    I’m LOVING discovering your channel today! I’m a noob & I have my little guy (he has autism) … this is something I _really_ wanna to do with my son.
    He loves water rockets, but it’s time for higher flight & more build time. Do you have a video or series for noobs like me to get deeper into this awesome hobby? I’d be much obliged if you can point me in the right direction. 😃✌️🤟
    *P.S. THANK you sooo much for the discount code! You saved me $25! I HAD to buy the Falcon 9 & launch kit as a future goal, after we earn it.*
    😅✌️

    I have the Dr. Zooch Saturn 1B but am stuck on the tower

    • @modelrockets3215
      @modelrockets3215  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes those are some kinds tricky kits ro build. Use some forceps to place those small tower structures and toothpicks to accurately place glue.

    • @stemmentor9700
      @stemmentor9700 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@modelrockets3215 was eying the forceps at “Apogee” that are curved. think saw them on AMZ as well. look pretty decent when i saw how they worked.
      now up to 9 lots to build. figured. after all these years i would be going nuts by now.
      LJ I AMZ has good deals in. Eyeing LJII 1/45h. Want a “classic Saturn B 1/100th, Mercury Redstone just arrived, and now need to find decent price on the 60s-70s Gemini Titan II 2 engine kit. 450$ bit too steep. 😱
      I still don’t know if i genre so much stuff away. All that Centuri and Estes stuff from the 70s. sigh. retirement fund maybe 😎
      Thanks for another good vid. am eyeing some of these kits already. For now gotta work on gettin kids excited about this at Cyber Camp next month.

    Nice video I also got the Little Joe deal with the same bent main tube through amazon/overstock hobbies. How do you fix that?

    • @modelrockets3215
      @modelrockets3215  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah bad tubes. I'm just going to replace the tubes. I have some BT-70 laying around.

    • @MikeB3542
      @MikeB3542 ปีที่แล้ว

      The body tubes on my LJ were a bit out of round...my suggestion is to dry fit the engine mount with centering rings at the front end, as well the capsule base on the ST-50.
      Then CAREFULLY dry fit the thin centering rings to each of the body tubes. Commit to gluing those thin centering rings when everything looks kosher.

    Canadian prices now ,sheesh....Alpha kit ,costs same or more than starter sets did '77.
