I'm an idiot guys. Totally forgot to cover skills... It's basically Blade Flurry for Uber lab and Reave for maps. I'm sure y'all got to the pastebin anyway, but yea. Sorry about that.
Hey Nathan, thanks for the update as you are a big influencer with the Uber Lab farming community on POE. I was wondering what other skills we could use if we didn't want to use Reave on this build. Could we use the new Tetonic Strike or anything else? Thanks
How can we upgrade this build to make it more efficient / faster? I can do lab no problem without dying but it takes a bit too long to kill argus / boss for my taste
Ichimonji: poe-antiquary.xyz/Abyss/Weapon/Ichimonji/659 and The Bringer of Rain: poe-antiquary.xyz/Abyss/Armour/The%20Bringer%20of%20Rain/1444 could be a bit "expensive" in day 1 and 2 after that no problem if it stays like last league
Hey Nathan, this looks like a great build. This´ll be my first time starting with a Lab farmer and i´m kinda worried by the prices of all the items. Maybe you could do some sort of video explaining how to go about generating the currency needed for the build to get going? Like, i´m always completely lost after playing through the questline. Should i just run a bunch of maps till i got all the currency? When do i start buying upgrades? When i start mapping or should i just go map with selffound gear and force myself to safe for the final gear and nor spend anything on early upgrades? I hope you understand what i mean. It would be great to know how experienced players go about this part of the game since every time someone explains how to start a new league it´s basically: "Do storyline, go farm uber lab, get rich." However i always take 3 weeks to even get any amount of currency to even cap my resists and get a decent life pool and i can´t even think about such luxurys as specific item types (steel rings, diamond rings etc) while doing so. Maybe you could give noobs like me some pointers on how to go about this :-) Also, if i´m not interested in transitioning into your planned bosskiller, is there a better alternative as a starter? I´d like something that isn´t a pain to level and clear maps with and that is a brainless lab farmer with decent boss damage (i think this build should fit that, right?)
S Fuchs I didn't want to ignore your question but I also don't have time to go into huge detail because I just woke up (3:05am btw) and I'm on my phone. Yes this character will be strong and brainless. You could also make it as a juggernaut if you think chieftain won't cut it. My plan at the start of the league is to get to the blood aqueduct in act 9, farm lvl 70 and then finish the rest of the game. I'll only pick up good items that have a chance to be worth currency OR be valuable for my own build. After I beat the game I'll consider using some of the currency from the blood aqueduct to fix up some of my worst pieces of gear. Definitely cap resists before maps and get extra life where you can. When your character is at an acceptable level and "works" then you can save for the more expensive uniques that you see in the video. Then I run maps. All the maps I find early will be transmuted and tossed into the map device.
Don´t worry mate, it´s fine. This actually helps a lot already. I just needed the confirmation really that i´m not missing out on some super secret technique or something^^ So basically get character to a working state and then chain farm maps till you´re ready for U-lab. Got it. Appreciate your help! THX! One more thing though. Do you bother getting into higher tier maps (reds) or are you just grinding away at the mid tier stuff? And at what lvl do you plan to attempt U-lab with this char?
why does the path of building talent tree goes into the increase axes damage when ur suggesting using maces? sorry if thats a dumb question im pretty new to game :P *nvm he said why in the video, missed it somehow :P
I miss the 2h melee meta Guess I'll go sword/mace jug bladestorm.. Been seeing that on the leaderboard lately. I got a disfavor before looking into it thinking it was still viable. Kind of wanting to meme it up with disfavor eq regardless
I tried this now in Incursion league, but I die really easily at times? Traps and stuff really hurts. T6ish maps can be problematic and yeah.. And that's with all decently rolled uniqes and rares after a while into a league. Also the mana problem is really annoying at times even with .45 phys to mana and -2 to skills.
I played like 80hrs during 3.1 but I had only 1 character, do you know any guide to help leveling fast (gear, skills during the leveling). Thanks for the build, was looking for one !
so the build has worked wonderfully so far. Manged to get my core unique's and since then i have been flying through the game. My only gripe is in regards to the mana sustain, im running with 0.3% on gloves and still finding myself needing to carry a mana flask, any suggestions or am i missing something obvious? So far the mana leech nodes over the duelist end seem to be the best solution. Any help would be much appreciated
S Fuchs i figured something out it is by Far no Perfect solution. That being said i switched my Movement Setup to Leapslam, Fortify, Faster Attacks, Blood Magic. It is possible to sustain Blade Flurry for a pretty long Time if you scale your Physical Damage (your Leech uses only Phys Dmg. Or at least it reads that way) however its not possible for me to sustain Reave against a Single Target yet.
My bad just noticed the replies now but the easy fix is just to go up from Ambidexterity and take the dex node to the right and the mana leech node above it. You should have no problems with mana sustain after that but its a shame wasting 2 points, Im hoping as we gain more damage we should be able to respec those two though.
I had the same problem, I used 2 - +2mana on hit jewel & % mana leech on gloves = Blade flurry is sustainable, however Reave in maps vs boss/red pokemob is not. I have started using Blade flurry in maps with Increased effect and just swapping with Conc effect for lab/tough bosses. I think I will spend the extra 2 points just for the QoL.
The build is still completely functional. It might be slightly harder to get 45k evasion.... But yea still a good build. Only thing I can't help with is the leveling and mapping process on that character because when I made that, I recycled an old shadow and just put the gear on. Maybe just run scorching ray until you get rise of the phoenix??? Not so sure :( sorry!
Thank you for the fast reply. Leveling should be something like freezing pulse+fire trap into Fire Nova Mine at 12 in a +1 wand/spectre, and go with it until you can grab a 4l for your SR (act4 ish).
They'll likely cost the same amount because the bringer of rain is kinda expensive early on. With that being said, I'd suggest playing either 1 based on their class. If you think marauder will be usable for you in the future, do that. If Duelist, than that. See what I'm saying :)??
Nathan Boulton I played your slayer last league and ran about 75 uber labs...no luck on enchants but got a ton of currency, and I respecc’d my character’s tree for starforge cyclone :)
Hey Nathan, thanks for the build. What do you think would be easier/cheaper to play at league start between your Woe Sunder build and this one? This will be my first uber lab starter and I'm noob on the lab so I'm looking for the one that is easier and cheaper to play early on.
They're likely be similarly expensive. Bringer of Rain is a bit pricey early in the league. I think both characters are strong in their own respect but for a new player I should really suggest this character because it's more tanky and has potential to scale damage a bit easier.
I'm in the same situation. I really liked the Woe sunder and I only played a bit last league. As a new player I like the idea of farming and then transition. I hope this build rocks!
Nathan Boulton thanks for the reply. I have a follow up question if you dont mind answering. When do you actually start farming uber lab on these characters at league start? As soon as you have all necessary uniques (BotR etc)?
checking PoB Doon is better than catalyst, I swapped Ichi for a rare sword with higher phys and some fire ele dmg for only 3c. I think Dreadbeak is a good alternative though which right now is about 8-10c for a 335Pdps sword.
X-101 if you're still interested,i got full gear in act 9. This char is insanely easy to gear. Start is slow, but gearing is great. Just safed my currency drops, with the occasional one alch purchase. Then farmed a tabula, sold for 14c and i was done with the core.
Chieftain is the ascendancy I chose because I'm going to transition from lab farmer to boss farmer and I'll need an easy way to get 100% ele conversion.
I'm an idiot guys. Totally forgot to cover skills...
It's basically Blade Flurry for Uber lab and Reave for maps.
I'm sure y'all got to the pastebin anyway, but yea. Sorry about that.
Can't wait for the oni's rundown xD
"Oni-Goroshi's drop chance has been adjusted. And by 'adjusted', we mean lowered. A lot."
Dis Gonn B Guud!
Nathan Boulton who need skills anyway :D
aw man... you didn't do what I thought you would. Champ BF. pastebin.com/2qjTMpMV
Hey! do you think this will work for 3.8?
Thanks Nathan!
You're welcome!
cant wait to see this mad build your transitioning into might do the same
Thanks for your explanation keep up the good mate.
Looking forward to trying this later today!

Sorry for asking, but what bandit did u help ? or did u just kill all ? :)

I miss the 2h melee meta

I may have missed it but what are the pantheon choices?
I tried this now in Incursion league, but I die really easily at times? Traps and stuff really hurts. T6ish maps can be problematic and yeah.. got the same problem, maybe it solves itself later. ( damage increase)
You guys figured something out yet? Currently at lvl 75 with lots of damage nodes, but still run oom.
0.3% mana leech seems to not cut it for sustain.

Wait did you not say what skills you are actually using the entire time during the video? Lol
waba lmao yea... I done goofed. This is what happens when you 1 take a video while under time constraints
What do you think about starting off with your 3.1 speed trickster SR/RF build?
The build is still completely functional. It might be slightly harder to get 45k evasion.... But yea still a good build.
Only thing I can't help with is the leveling and mapping process on that character because when I made that, I recycled an old shadow and just put the gear on.

Now I'm torn between this and your 25c build :(
They'll likely cost the same amount because the bringer of rain is kinda expensive early on. With that being said, I'd suggest playing either 1 based on their class. If you think marauder will be usable for you in the future, do that. If Duelist, than that. See what I'm saying :)??

What weapons do we pursue for late game? I mean Do we stay with Don + a high phys sword or we go for catalyst???
Any update PLZ?
Would love to know this answer too.
Any reply would be rly nice -.-
checking PoB Doon is better than catalyst, I swapped Ichi for a rare sword with higher phys and some fire ele dmg for only 3c. I think Dreadbeak is a good alternative though which right now is about 8-10c for a 335Pdps sword.
dont u think deadeye with ur dreamfeather will be good?
For boss-killing probably not.
but for lab farming? , like doing pathfinder farming labs for a while and then changing to deadeye with bow skill is ok?
Wish you talked about chieftain vs juggernaut for this build.
chief more dmg, jugg more defense, pick one.
Ayy 3.9 b like
I think I may have missed it but what bandits?
His PoB shows Kill all for 2 passives
So can you run the lab before u can afford the unique's or map till you can???
X-101 if you're still interested,i got full gear in act 9. This char is insanely easy to gear. Start is slow, but gearing is great. Just safed my currency drops, with the occasional one alch purchase. Then farmed a tabula, sold for 14c and i was done with the core.
Oak or kill all?
how fast is the mapping on this char
How come you're not running jugg?
Chieftain is the ascendancy I chose because I'm going to transition from lab farmer to boss farmer and I'll need an easy way to get 100% ele conversion.
Nathan Boulton Boss farmer means shaper, guardians, etc? Thx
Nathan Boulton if this was a pure lab farmer would you have gone jugg? I’m thinking of making a lab farmer league starter but I’m not sure myself.
*cough cough* seven league steps is back *cough cough* back to reduced flask charge
The blade vortex character is going to be REALLY strong this league for anyone who wants to really go super fast!
Nathan Boulton yea i am probably going to do a combo. Gc for skip mechanics and Bv to sustain flask charges would be fun
why no body armor ?
Ugh I hate sunder lol
