I find it interesting that it felt like the didn't take their own advice and just get to the spicy part. They did background to cover their bases, and they attempting to tell a story that took too long to connect to the audience. The suggestions were good, but perhaps condensing the background and getting to the point faster would have made the presentation hit more.
