This video is fantastic, it's helped me confirm I have a Bowerbird family living somewhere close to my home, they are often singing in my gumtree, they sound so beautiful.
!!!! UNBELIEVABLE! I actually jumped when I heard the first "chirp" ?! Living in NYC, I had no idea such a Bird existed let alone one with this indescribable Voice. Scanning the Comments, someone said "shortwave radio" & another, "falling Bomb", both seem perfect descriptions. lol my first impression was a "Whoopie Cushion" ! I can't imagine having a Bird like this living near my Home. Gee, I would get excited when I would hear Owls at night hooting from a Tree across in the Park - this Bird is on a whole other Level!
I've published a couple of recordings of their descending whistles on this page - wildambience.com/wildlife-sounds/satin-bowerbird/ See if there is one there that matches. 😊
I thought the spangled drongo made that sound the mechanical sound.. or maybe they mimic from this bird?.. love it all thank you for all of your videos 🦋
Spangled Drongos do make all kinds of interesting mechanical sounds, but they are quite different to these ones made by the bowerbird. eg. www.xeno-canto.org/526167 . You've given me an idea though - I should put a video of Spangled Drongo sounds up in the future!

Thank you so much for this wonderful capture. They sing at my place but are shy.
I thought it was them who I could hear today. Then I spotted the male. Great looking bird
They are stunning birds!
Look for his bower!
I was walking past one of these and they sacred me when it growled at me XD
Fun fact about bowerbirds: Bowerbirds build massive bowers out of sticks to attract mates. Then they get colourful objects and put them inside.
Thank you for your videos so important
Oh my, if you tld me you were just wandering through the shortwave on a radio, I would have believed you!
Beautiful 😍
The joys of living in the Blue Mountains 😂
Very interresting Sounds :D
Glad you like them!
I had one of these outside of my house displaying where I live
♥
I'm trying to find one that has a descending whistle sound but it's not quite like this. Its like a falling sound effect from a cartoon.

@@WildAmbience that would be amazing!
I hear similar sounds but the 'falling bomb' sound is much higher in pitch - would that still be a bower?
This is the typical descending whistle - xeno-canto.org/377807 . Is that what you mean?
@@WildAmbience yes just like that!
0:25 car won't start... :)
ppl who play webbed are gonna have nightmare about a bird
Thanks to Webbed, I now know that its a bower 😅
