Greatest ending of a norwegian talk show ever. It was pure magic to watch that on TV. Great reaction.

this is such an unusual song, it unfolds such a weird dragging mood. she is so underrated.
you like this video because she is just doing what nobody else does. while everybody else is freaking out about auroras new pop tunes - THIS is it!
"Leikara Ljóð" by Susanne Sundfør is a mysterious and enigmatic song that invites listeners to delve into its depths and explore its hidden meanings. With sparse yet impactful lyrics, Sundfør creates a haunting atmosphere that leaves room for interpretation and introspection.
The lyrics "Gimme gimme gimme shock treatment" and "Break the ice and drown me" introduce an element of desire and intensity. The use of the phrase "shock treatment" implies a need for some form of external jolt or awakening, a drastic change or transformation. This could be interpreted as a plea for a significant emotional experience, a way to break free from the limitations of the mundane.
Sundfør then sings, "Take me high to the depths of your soul" and "I may be walkin' on water, but still I'm stumbling in the reeds." These contrasting images showcase the complexity of the narrator's emotional state. The desire to reach the depths of someone's soul implies a longing for a deep connection, an exploration of the innermost aspects of a person. However, the subsequent line suggests a struggle or uncertainty, as even in this pursuit, there are still obstacles or difficulties encountered. The imagery of walking on water and stumbling in the reeds symbolizes the dichotomy between appearing strong and composed on the surface while facing inner turmoil and uncertainty.
The repetition of "This is my final call" creates a sense of urgency and insistence. It suggests an impending ending or closure, perhaps in a relationship or a phase of life. The repetition emphasizes the importance of this call, as if it is the last opportunity to communicate or connect. Sundfør's ethereal vocals add to the emotive quality of these lines, evoking a deep longing and vulnerability.
Throughout the song, Sundfør maintains an air of ambiguity, leaving the interpretation open to the listener's personal experiences and emotions. The repetition of "This is my final call" in the latter half of the song reinforces the idea of a decisive moment or opportunity for change. It could be seen as an act of self-assertion and the recognition of one's own desires and needs.
The instrumental outro of the song further amplifies the haunting and introspective nature of the lyrics. The absence of words allows listeners to reflect on the emotions elicited by the song and delve deeper into their own interpretations of its meaning.
In conclusion, "Leikara Ljóð" by Susanne Sundfør is a captivating and thought-provoking piece of music that explores themes of longing, desire, and the quest for deeper connection. With its evocative lyrics and ethereal soundscapes, the song invites listeners to introspect and find their own personal resonance within its ambiguous yet powerful narrative.
