  • Academics from the University of Hull and the Biorenewables Development Centre at York worked together on a Research England funded project to explore a new low carbon methodology for producing bioethanol - a liquid biofuel.
Bioethanol has potential to be a green source of energy for transportation, making it an important replacement for fossil fuels as we strive towards a low carbon future.
Dr Xuebin Ke of the University of Hull and Dr Mark Gronnow of the Biorenewables Development Centre talk about this pioneering project, which has caught the interest of BP and Vivergo Fuels.
The THYME Project is a partnership between the Universities of Teesside, Hull and York, funded by Research England's Connecting Capabilities Fund, to grow the regional Bioeconomy.
