It's 2019 and in still hoping for another album... Courtney's grown from POTI THROUGH NBD AND ALL IN-BETWEEN...For me I've got a different album/era for every mood I'm in 💔💔💔💔
I like this slower version alot better than the "people like you fuck people like me" one thats been live lately. I sorta liked where the album was during the linda perry sessions but who knows whats gonna come out. Five years in the making means there will be more than enough B sides to enjoy. and this is def a demo version its not finished off
@ConcreteHole I would understand if they somehow managed to find a high quality version, but this is the SAME THING! There are also clips where Courtney is singing "Honey" live in this guitar store....it sounds like it's going to be pretty powerful!

She may have recorded one and it may come out in shape or form (of Motherfucker), I wish they would've kept that studio track ( I still don't buy that those were demos!) a little rockier, but I still love that song. AND DID YOU HEAR THAT CLIP OF PCH?! OMFG! You can hear a bit of the almost finished version and it sounds so good! It's definitely been toughened up!
@ConcreteHole I have to say....I don't think Stand Up Motherfucker will be on the new album. I think she said "that's more of a Nobody's Stepdaughter's song" and "Sunset Marquis" is going to be a B-side.
@MiriamsHunger With the exception of Skinny Little Bitch, almost all of the songs on Nobody's Daughter are so overproduced their raw, studio versions are much much better.
I love this version too it tells the full story of samantha and this more tragic and dark then the orig version is kinda funny and trashy fun song in the bridge

Corgan hasn't written a decent song in years? What?! Billy will never lose the ability to write a good song. Just because it doesn't sound like Siamese Dream doesn't mean its not any good.
I don't think there is a perfect version of "Samantha" but I like the soft rock Fleetwood Mac feel of this take. I could do without the bridge "And no one can regain..." It was weak and I'm glad Courtney replaced it. "People like you fuck people like me" was awesome as far as I was concerned. The major problem I had with the final version is that it was too cluttered, with the "villages of ether" stuff and also not cutting "leave the money by the bed... hate what you have seen in me" segment. That's a terrific segment but it was a moment someone needed to tell Courtney to "kill your darlings" and edit edit edit for the good of the song.
I agree with you! I really like both versions of the song but neither of them really feel finished and the reason you mentioned because there are so many different verses and changes and stuff. I'd love a version where it all flows together and fits together better

i personally love the bridge. it just feels so hole - esque w the lyrics- themes of girlhood/growing up ect.
