Thanks for what you do ! I was having the issue after 300 rounds with my 920x I was disappointed and then saw your first video on it and went ahead and sent it to SS to warranty, currently waiting for it back
I've ran into very few problems with most center-fire cartridge firearms. Generally, the times I've had problems is when I just got it, & am testing it brand new, or in just one case, my CMMG Banshee 300 MkGs decided to start having big feeding issues after ~1,500rds even after cleaning (it's suppressed FYI)
Shadow Systems fix mine haven't had a problem with it since. I'd love for you to send it in give them a chance and then we get another video on the CR 920X. Keep up the good work
From a SS owner, thank you for making the video. Recently picked up an original CR920 and had premature slide lock 7-8 times in the first 250 rounds. ~2 of those being after the 200 rd mark Want to put another 100-200 rounds through it before I send it back to SS
Good video as always! I have long since moved past Glocks but if I wanted one I would take the original. Aside from replacing the sights I would probably leave it stock.
But... but someone left a comment on my last video and said it was. He said 100% it was. And he stated his level of expertise was "gun store employee". I'm surprised everyone didn't hear me laugh.
Is not your grip. If that were the case then why is the Glock not doing the same thing. I saw multiple videos on TH-cam of the same issue happening to other shooters.
Both of your videos on this are excellent and along with some other videos covering the same problems have saved me from wasting my money on SS Gucci Glock clone. Thank you.
Good evening, Justin. Happy hump day. Yea, i look forward to you telling us what you do end up finding out on the slide locking back on the shadow systems. 💯 correct on that. As a edc pistol. I wouldn't trust it, until i figure it out. Or my gunsmith, or shadow systems themselves figure it out. I look forward to your review on their new XR920P and MR920P models.
I had multiple issues including failure to extract, failure to feed, a trigger spring fail, and every other round light striking on a brand new shadow systems mr920 combat AFTER the 200rd break in 🤷♂️ shadow system tried to fix, eventually i switched to a glock 48 instead....
That sucks man. I’ve been extremely lucky with mine having no problems. But I can say if I had those experiences myself it would probably turn me off as well. I’ve had pretty good luck with most brands. The only two I’ve had a good amount of issues with were Canik, and SIG. But I think it’s safe to assume that most companies can have quality control issues.
I wanted so bad to buy a Shadow Systems gun. But after watching your 2 videos on the CR920X and the issues it's having along with other quality TH-camrs like yourself, I think the most logical plan is to just buy a Glock Gen 5 and customize it myself exactly the way I want it. Thank you for your quality videos!!!!!!
Reminds me of many years ago I drove a GMC pickup that developed a dead engine miss that turned out to be a burnt valve. But while trying to diagnose the problem, I took the truck to a mechanic shop and every time that I did, the miss would disappear only to return after I left the shop. Many weeks of that process, I finally told the mechanic to tear the engine down and do a complete examination of the parts. Success!!😂😂😂
@@wizardofahhhs759 not being a mechanic, I assumed the mechanic told me the truth. He fixed it, I payed him. He TOLD me it was a burnt valve. BTW- What was the real problem?
I had the same problem with my c920x. Was within the first 300 rounds had lock back shooting one handed since then no lock back issue. I have 1k rounds through it. Never had the problem shooting two hands. ( I’m left handed). Was shooting 124 blazer
Replace with an oem 43x slide release. The original one you can literally shake it up with inertia vs a regular 43x one has to be physically pushed up by the mag follower
Mag lips/body I somehow contacting the slide stop lever. Dagger Micro and G43x mags are interchangeable. Is the shadowmag release metal??....since the mag bodies are metal.
I had the same problem with my c920x. Was within the first 300 rounds had lock back shooting one handed since then no lock back issue. I have 1k rounds through it. Never had the problem shooting two hands. ( I’m left handed)
I had this happen on my Glock 20 build. I went to a heavier spring and it stopped. My Glock 29 had similar issues with hot rounds. A heavier spring fixed it as well.
Numerous people have been having the same malfunction. Also you do get more, way more with shadow systems....more cost and more malfunctions!! WAY MORE..if you want a Glock, buy a Glock.
I just experienced this today, I believe the slide-lock lever is rising when controlling the recoil, maybe that spring is too light. Sold the gun. Just Can’t carry it with that issue.
Cognitive dissonance. Buyers reject information that contradict their purchase decisions, and only embrace information that supports them. Break in period, grip, limp wrist, etc.
That is a very annoying malfunction. I was having the same issue with one of my CZ Shadow 2’s for 2 range sessions then I haven’t been able to replicate it again since
strange that it does that. IMO there must be a poorly fitted slide stop or it is bent slightly and causing the issue. I have a 920X and have not had a single failure through around 400 rounds except no slide lock back on last round once in a while but that is my grip because that happens on all my guns. Big hands and have a tendency to ride the slide lock. One can get a foundation series for maybe around a hundred more than a 43x mos. comes with better trigger- better sights and 15round mags. To me a better value. I have had 43x malfunction also back when I had one. like stove pipes. Very rare but did happen. I run mostly CCI 115 grain at range. Anybody that says need heavier grain blah blah blah doesn't gain my attention to listen to. If a 9mm needs that I won't own it.
Can someone explain to me why people like Glocks so much? In my experience they are an average pistol with a below average trigger and the looks are plain jane boring.
They really just work for the most part. Basic? Yeah. Gets the job done? Yep. Law Enforcement using them over the years helps out too. It's just got a strong reputation. Not many changes over the years so people complain about it but sometimes all the fancy modifications people do/want are covering deficiencies.
Grip. Angle. the Glock grip angle is an extremely underrated advantage that allow the shooter to lock their wrists without focusing on it. Average pistol? I would say they have above average reliability and performance Below average trigger? Shoot more. seriously. if anyone can't get the results they want with a gen 5 stock trigger then they need to train more. Plain jane looks? completely subjective and arguably irrelevant. especially for a tool.
All relative to your experience. I totally understand and might feel the same way if I had the same experiences. Mine have been different. I prefer my MR920 over my 19.🤷♂️That’s just my opinion and based on my experience. I would imagine others would have different experiences and opinions than mine. I stopped counting rounds after 2500 with my MR920 and can honestly say I haven’t had a hiccup. I have heard some people have problems with the smaller cr920 though so I’d say you aren’t alone. But by comparison my mr920 has been superior to my 19 in several ways. I have a 43x and even though I’m not a huge fan of the slim line pistols it definitely has its place. But I wouldn’t go as far to buy the cr920. Like I said guys this is only my opinion so be gentle.😂 I love my Glocks I have 4 of them. But my edc is definitely the shadow system MR920.👍 with an optic on top it’s just the one I shoot the best.🤷♂️ Thanks for the video. I appreciate your take on the CR.👍
What you fail to mention in this video is that you may have compromised the reliability of the CR920X by using that garbage Russian ammo in the first place. Straight from the Shadow Systems owners manual: “Use only the highest quality factory ammunition….BUDGET priced and/or reloaded ammunition can suffer from quality control issues and result in degraded performance and reliability.” No one is going to tell me that steel cased budget Russian ammo is on the same level as the Federal and PMC you were using in this, and the other video. Your opinion in this case is compromised because you didn’t follow the recommended factory protocol. You should have used either the Federal and/or PMC ammo exclusively in the video. As to the break in of 200 rounds is directly mentioned in the manual because, “the pistol has close tolerances and benefits from a wearing-in period before reliability and performance are best.” I find complaining about a break in period pretty disingenuous for a couple of reasons, 1.) You look old enough to remember back in the 70’s and 80’s, and 90’s where EVERYTHING had a break in period, even Glocks when they first came out. 2.) I don’t care if it’s 1984 or 2024, or somewhere in between, there is NO WAY a responsible gun owner is taking any gun out of the box, meant for self defense, and putting it in his or her holster, without putting at least 100 rounds through the gun, (usually more). Lastly comparing these two guns because they share a similar platform, but manufactured using more than a few different metrics, is like comparing a stock Springfield GI 1911, (which will require a 200 round break in), versus say a semi custom low end Ed Brown 1911, (which will require a 500 round break in per the factory). Sure they’re both built on the 1911 platform, but different guns. The overwhelming majority of your videos are squared away, but this time my opinion is you dropped the ball.😎✌️
Glock clones are pointless, regardless of how upscale or 'Gucci' they appear. Should I need a firearm for a purpose beyond what a Glock serves, I wouldn't settle for an inferior third-generation clone; I'd opt for an entirely different platform.

Calling any "glock clone" a knockoff is ignorant. It's no different than all the companies that make AR's and AK's. They are platforms and each company alters there's a little. Should Colt and Kalashnikov be the only manufacturers of AR's and AK's?
