What you see here is a Subaru Impreza WRX STI powered by a twin turbo EJ20 engine, one turbo for each bank of cylinders. The car has been built by GMC Racing for time attack purposes and is still under development.

Who knew straight cut gears on a subi would sound so gooood
straight cut gear sounds good on any race/rally car
Very very well tuned. Parallel twin turbo is very hard for EJ20 because you have only 1L to spool 1 turbo. I can hear huge cams in the engine but very very well tuned to make it work. So much work and planning and research were involved in to make this engine.

the smoke is caused by the rear tires it touches on the chassis.

Very big difference between an OEM EJ20TT and what's going on here... It's definitely an interesting route, that twin plenum design definitely is not common, I'd love to see the exhaust manifold design and turbo location and size etc

my dad used to have VW safari in the past,and we broke the carb and its really hard to find the replacement,so we decide to make it twin setup,we make an intake for 41mm Delorto carbs,yes we used 2 pcs of that carb for right and left cyl...
and make the exhaust pipe double 2-1 ,and it sound so strange....we laughed for it,but it runs incredible,we never have a trouble since it,damn i miss that car...LOL

yes it runs better,better fuel economic too,i remember that MF can run 15km/lt,the downside is , we cannot floor the gas pedal instantly,we must wait the engine rev higher and floor it,need time to used at it first

I love Time Attack! The cars are always evolving and the driver is gaining more experience. Every time a Time Attack build hits the track it gets faster and faster!
I come from a Subaru family but have always struggled with disliking the sound of all Subarus... but this one? Sounds fantastic!

Interessante sotto diversi punti di vista. Le turbine sono vicine alle teste quindi risolvono il problema di prontezza dei boxer subaru, che hanno la turbina tanti distante dalle teste. Inoltre l aereodinamica ha più potenziale se ben sviluppata, con lo sfogo dei radiatori sul cofano

see. And why the hell not, right? The intercooler acts like a plenum and so the pressure should be pretty consistent. And that sound? That makes it all worth it.

I want to know as well. Mainly how much extra torque is being made. Whether twin turbo is worth it or not
sounds like it's around 500hp-600hp range
No, for it being an unLimited class setup.... probably close to 700awhp and 800awtq that's my guess. Something quick and lightweight, but still controllable for quick lap times

Its a time attack car with all the power suspension and aero mods but no sequential.... as a subaru/old shool guy I respect it, but if its a time attack car its losing so much time using a manual
I'm sure sequential is being swapped soon. Just bet money was an issue and thought why not just use the old trusty sturdy STi trans until she shreds the gears

Is it getting front downforce through the front cooling duct? Seems like a ton of wing for not a lot of splitter
the weigh ratio might be proportional to the wings in that case it's normal
It does have the small air dam at the front too, so along with the ducting it should make a decent amount of downforce
And, it didn't look like he was struggling with understeer at any point, so whatever he was doing seemed to work lol
