Feels a bit weird listening to her singing „Hollywood“, saying how everyone is so obsessed with it and how shallow it really is…And his first question after that song is about how she stays in such great shape. It’s like nobody’s paying attention to what she was singing about! It was and still is like that. Society doesn’t want to know. Most people just want to stay asleep. Not even thinking about, where the world is heading, what rules and structures could be redefined. And then they’re treating her like an alien again. Asking questions that make her seem like someone who’s not also just a normal person. She even had to say it a few times: „I am human“. Feels like the world wasn’t ready for her messages. I personally love „American Life“. It’s incomparable. It’s art. I can’t listen to it all the time but it is as relevant as it was (almost) 20 years ago. The songs aren’t easy to perform live and I think you could tell a bit in the performance. But that’s okay. For me it’s mostly about what she wants to tell the world. I wish we could appreciate her intelligence and art more
Couldn’t agree with you more. Her messaging in this album is profound, timely and relevant. Of course, she is beautiful, intelligent, witty and brave. But most people specially in celebrity culture is obsessed with what is superficial and tends to ignore the wisdom she’s sharing to increase our awareness and empathy for what’s going on. She’s more than an entertainer, she’s an artist and an advocate for many worthy causes.
It's embarrassing how long they spent talking about her then-husband and her shape/diet/beauty regime during the promotion and the celebration of her yet another accomplishment (chart-topping album)... Watching something in 2024 about what happened in the 00s makes you realise how male-dominated the world actually was...
She was fun and beautiful, but a bit too tame for her usual self in the interview. She really should have knocked him down for some of those stupid questions.
I really like “American Life” and considering what came after - excluding “Confessions On A Dance Floor” - it’s quite an album. In my opinion “Hard Candy” was when she started to follow instead to lead trends, “MDNA” was very generic, “Rebel Heart” a waste of potential expecially the stuff with Avicii that sound so date even as a demos not to mention “Madame X”.
Madonna's not over yet 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 much more to come!
400 million records & counting🎉🎉🎉Madonna wasn't joking there 🎉🎉🎉
It's not just about the singing, it's what she's saying in the lyrics & wants you to know 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I don't care what any haters say, Madonna can sing. Beautiful woman too.
Let's don't listen to univited persons such as haters the're not needded

She seemed quite relaxed in the interview.
That rap part is so difficult to sing.. But she made it look so easy..

It’s a shame Jonathan Ross barely let her get a word in edge ways.
i wonder why she chose dont tell me

"Poofs". Imagine if he said that now.
I think they called themselves 4 Poofs and a Piano, I think that was the name of the act.
abdelali.
she hella yellow...mam
what a shame she wasted such an amazing look on this record!! tho at the time I listened to it non-stop, in retrospect not her best phase
American Life is, for me, Madonna's weakest album.
Yeah, many songs make me cringe. And no, she can't rap, sorry.
@@shitheadbowels I agree, but I really like American Life song

It was too acoustic of an album. American Life should’ve been a rock album
