Oh my God! YES! I remember she did a similar one for MTV in America. It was hosted by Carson Daly. Whew! That was a long time ago, but I remember it well.
Her vocals are especially solid and gorgeous on this performance. I love hearing her raw vocals/voice, there's a fragility mixed with ambition in that voice.

Couldn’t help myself but revisit this wonder of a mini concert…finding new gems, nuggets of wisdom and wit from M during this American Life era. Nothing Fails with the gospel choir chorus gives me goosebumps and the same vibe as Like A Prayer…it’s now one of my all-time M faves. I agree with her thoughts about organized religion…it’s authoritarian, judgmental and divisive. Backing her with the band is Mirwais Ahmadzai and Stuart Price-amazing artists and collaborators with M. This audience is so lucky in this intimate setting. This video is a collector’s item. Her vocals are SO magnificent in Hollywood. Even better on the Johnathan Ross show. Too bad it wasn’t sung on her tour, but it does seem quite difficult to remember the lyrics as they’re so repetitive with slight changes. Thank you so much for this upload ❤
Wait for the Finally, Enough Love Tour ‘23 to hear the remix live…good luck on getting a ticket tho, this might be her last tour. If she did a Vegas residency the attendance would be sold out because she’d have total control over her show and it would be so amazing every time you go see it….a great way to slowly retire nearing 70.
This is so incredibly beautiful. This is true Madonna…singing the tunes that were put in the shelf even tho they are all so majestic and her voice shows how natural it is ..no auto tune or lip syncing.

Believe it or not there was an incredible marketing strategy for this release of her American Life album which at the time I thought was her best and most genuine album, but the misstep was in the choices of singles that the label chose to release.

That entire era, record and time in my life will always be something I look back on thanks to this album. It really took me through good and bad times coming terms with my life and who I am.
This could have been the most important turning point in her career, creatively, politically. She had never been so consistently honest in a record since, the confidence in her voice shows that. It's also a pity that the Re-Invention Tour wasn't released like the other tours. Confessions was great, but as Pitchfork pointed out, it's kind of the prelude to what her music has turned into.
I was such a fan of this album. It came out on my birthday. That’s how it was memorable for me (I’m an April baby) I’ve had this performance as an audio recording but I have never seen it in full and great quality until now. American life is a fabulous album, a fabulous era and a time where I worshipped her. Unfortunately times changed where her last album just didn’t do anything for me at all.
