Brian Chan ties a simple Scud (Freshwater Shrimp) pattern and talks about the best time to fish Scuds and why they are such an important food item for Trout and other fish species.
Nice Brian, do you see them in Alberta lakes much? I have seen in places like twin valley reservoir as well as crawling and Newell where it's all pike and walleye but not so much in the trout lakes. Am I just missing seeing them?
Thanks Brian, great info and pattern
Standard matelial,and more beauty-color, it,s very nice!
Thank you
Having a tough time finding beads in a brass color...copper do it? thanks
Brian, thank you for this simple, but great-looking pattern. Generally, do you prefer Brass beads rather than Tungsten beads for your Scuds?
Generally Brass Beads so the fly doesn’t invert but lately we’ve found that it doesn’t matter if the fly is upside down or not.
@@SFOTF OK, thanks. The fish don't care!!

Lots of shrimp in Alberta trout and walleye lakes. And yes walleye love scuds and probably juvenile pike.
