When I was a child my mum came home one day with a budgie in a cage, this was about 1960 and I was eight years old. I absolutely adored it and was amazed how it's constant chatter and playful mood affected me.
I loved that little bird so much.
One morning, maybe about a year later I came home from school to find the budgie was gone 😶.
My mum told me it had died suddenly so she took it out and buried it. I was heartbroken. No matter how I tried she would not tell me where she buried it, which lead me to suspect she either sold it or killed it ( she hated cleaning the cage ).
It was long ago now, and I'm an old man, but that budgie lives again every time I hear their chatter, so finding this video is a treasure for me. I am saving it to watch over and over.

I’m so sorry to hear that. It’s always sad when these birds don’t get the love they deserve but I can tell you definitely did give that to it. I’m glad the noises make you happy though, I lost my little baby last Easter unexpectedly and it was really hard but I have two new ones now and they help make it easier, I understand how you feel.

Our last Budgie died in Dec 2017. We had him for 7 yrs. He loved to talk and sing just like the green budgie in this video. I really miss him. We have 2 rescued dogs and now an abandoned kitten who is fitting in very nicely. I am thinking of getting a couple of budgies but need to make certain they are safe from our new cat first. Lovely video.

Kathy Altherr I have four cats at home and I brought a budgie home yesterday and only one of my 4 cats goes outside and he has caught some birds but as soon as he saw the budgie he didn’t even care but one of my other cats keep going up to it so every so often I go in my room to check on her and take the cat outside

My bird went missing today while i was at work... I came home and turned this video on because it’s partner wasn’t making any sounds... found my bird within minutes. 10/10 would use this if your bird goes missing in the house.... or if it’s lonely.

Ours disappeared once and we couldn't find her. We were afraid we'd eventually find a dead bird somewhere. Our male bird, who's usually quiet started chirping and looking for her. We eventually found her, just sitting on the top of our shower curtain upstairs in the dark. She didn't want to leave. I think she just wanted peace and quiet. Now every time she disappears, we find her there in the same exact spot.

That's what I'm thinking, we've got a baby budgie and my partner was playing this for her yesterday and I had to Google it. Apparently it can make them miserable because they can't see them....the experts say... I'm still researching it.
You're actually right on this, because this can cause mental problems. Imagine hearing someone but not being able to see them, It's exactly how they feel.
This comment is old, but I play this for my solo budgie, and it is okay to play sounds! Even if they are desperately searching for them that may be because you haven't bonded with them. If you were to bond for them and play those sounds, budgies will begin chirping to you as another part of their flock.

@@YolkeyDokes "affordable" is quite a relative term. Some people have litereally no spare money. And getting a new bird usually comes with paying for an initial visit with the vet.
Of course there would be other reasons, why the person did not get another bird immediatly. Sometimes you have to make appointments. Or you need a car to transport the new bird. Or maybe your transport cage is broken right now.
But more importantly: I don't really think, that the initial response was relevant anymore. I am sure they solved the situaiton in the past two years.^^

My baby boy died yesterday. It’s so quiet without him playing and signing. I miss him sitting with me or exploring. Hearing these babies helps fill the silence a bit.

We've had several Budgies over the years they are such great companions. We had one that lived for 11 years. It was always a sad day when they died .

Just brought a pair of rescue budgies home, very young. They were shaking and very quiet UNTIL I decided to play budgie sounds and they lit up, chirping, singing, preening themselves and each other. At first I was concerned it was stressing then but I see now they are so relaxed and even dozing off with an occasional chirp.
I think they will recover just fine now, so pleased and very happy for them.
My budgies kept fluffing up their feathers. So cute! ❤️❤️💕💗

Right now it seems like the whole west coast is burning. I've got my three parakeets in their travel cage ready to evacuate (went from a massive 2-cockatiel cage to a tiny cage fit for one budgie to live a cramped life) and they were just not acting normal today. They seem a good deal comforted by this playing, eating and cleaning and making noise, so I'm grateful. I'll play this for them throughout the night too.

Ive had my two budgies for about 4 months now, they have taken a lot of time to warm up to us but whenever i let them out of the cage every day i play this and they start chirping around and flying/bouncing everywhere until they’ve tired and go back in. Thank youu for this!

He's friendly and an amazing bird, we're both friends but I think he would be happier with another friend budgie. So I've been thinking about getting him a friend(probably male too). But will my original bird still love me if he has another friend? Do you think they will get along? And will the new bird be too scared of me and over time my original bird will be scared too? I'm just worried they won't get along or hate me

Any tips?...l've had my birds for over a year now and like to fly near and around me but wont step up or come to me...I'm very gentle and never raise my voice around them..have no other pets in the house..Ive tried everything but wont come to me...it may be that l have 6..not sure...
