How to make Dilbar look small? Put it inside a floating dry dock. I had to run it back several times to try and get the size of that floating dry dock, it's massive. Would you consider doing a series on Super Yacht dry docks from around the world? Great video, as always.

Very informative and well organized. I'm glad that you didn't refer to any of these ships as "boats." For comparison: four of the five are larger and heavier than the U. S, Fletcher class destroyers, a major class of destroyer in WW II and for many years after. The Fletchers were 370' long with a fully loaded displacement of about 3,000 tons.
Again, displacement of a light ship and gross tonnage are not the same thing. Light ship weights of those yachts are usually not shared as they don't represent much. Gross tonnage is a non-linear function of all internal ship's volume. Nothing directly to do with any kind of displacement actually.
I would be curious to know the gross tonnage of Russian military surface vessels (of super yacht size) in comparison to the Russian oligarch super yacht fleet. I didn't realize that Dilbar is roughly the length of the former Moskva, but weighs something like 6000 tons more than the warship.
I wonder how Lurssen will be affected in terms of orders seeing as all these were built by them. Russians seem to be a very very lucrative client base for them. Must be putting a sizeable hole in their order book. Great video as always.

Yes, at the height of every season except for this one just past our French ports get too crowded with all the oligarch boats and money! That said, S/Y A is amazing up close and to watch those sails open---which they did very rarely---was a spectacle. So was watching the crew dock Dilbar at its Antibes berth which reminded me of my Dad teaching me how to drive a stick shift!! Slow and grueling but gorgeous. Saddens me to see so many empty berths knowing it means war and great financial loss to the crews and their families and to each and every local supplier from the fishmonger to the boulangerie to the lobster shacks.
