Bahamut is still very high up for a unit that was added relatively early in the game, a big achievement especially when he’s up against stuff like Uril (no gacha dalsi)
Despite the "fall off" and the powercreep, I feel like we need to give props to Bahamut for still being an insane unit despite the current endgame being not so friendly towards him. He was one of the OG's in battle cats and was basically essential in the stupidly hard SOL stages without all the powercreep. The Uber equivalent of what's happening to Baha rn is Jizo in 2022 or Mitama currently. Here lies Bahamut 2024, outclassed by younger, "better" units.
Breaking News. On August 30th 2024, bahumth cat was found dead in the uncanny legends, the murder was discovered to be uril but he couldn't be contained due to his absurd powers, more on the story as it develops.
Actually, when you compare this list with the ubers list, you can actually find certain similarities with the units presented. Both Dasli and Uril share the same attack type which is "Attack and create a surge", while both Naala and Phonoas have the attack type which is "Attack 3 different spots with status effects". This pretty much shows how metas evolved during the updates. For example, Mina's fall can also be compared to Aphrodite's and other sniper ubers or Ururun and Urs' with Gao's. So technically, this means that if Dasli somehow falls against another uber with a new attack type or a new sort of counter (Ignoring counter surge coz we know how that went). Uril may also fall like her at the same time against a new legend unit (or Naala, if it's too harsh). But obviously, there's a looooong time until another game breaking unit takes over the game after a load of overpowered and busted units. But time will tell that. Until then, enjoy the current literal unit of powercreep.
Im pretty sure that Bahamut always has a special place in our heart, being the one helping us from getting the first crazed cat to many rush strategies revolving around timing him. It's also worth to note that to progress to the point of obtaining the late/endgame legends, you still gonna have to stick around with him for a long time
@@Orin-the-hellcat yup that is why i still call bahamut the king of battle cats Uril can get as much power as he wants , he is never gonna be as integral to our playthroughs as bahamut was, and still is
@Orin-the-hellcat sorry bro but bahamut has never had a special place in my heart, I got lucky and got yukimura from my first ever rare ticket from japan
"Valkyrie is a unit who serves you well in EOC to never be used again, so impractical in practice that nobody will ever use her seriously" Mattshea: Am I a joke to you
It tells something when the S and above are generally better options as someone who doesn't have most of the top of the top ubers. Carrying my ass in 3star UL. Only really use bahamut in my rush loadout nowadays, but I thank the man for carrying me throughout the whole game up until now.
To be fair everything from Ururun and up would be considered a very strong high tier uber. Even a unit as simple as Urs would be a high tier collosus buster
1:18:32 Seeing as Yukimura was an Asian warlord/general all the way back in the 1500's-1600's, it would make a lot of sense that he hates "black enemies"
I’m here to see your proper review on Socrates, because I knew you crapped on him, and he didn’t deserve it. He has good health and crazy cheesing potential. Wait till he gets true form and he’ll go up a few more tiers.
I’m SO interested in this, would love to see detailed explanations on units that aren’t talked about much anymore like Mina, Musashi and Jagando. I’m also very very interested in Bahamut’s placement I’m guessing Naala and Luza are top 2
Wow, I'm not super far into the game so I've never seen any of these late-game cats, Doron has such a satisfying kamikaze animation! The quick shift leftwards before exploding gives you a great sense of where the 600 range hitbox actually is despite the 400 range
His old art from like 2+ years was ok, but now his art is extremely good. I can see the effort he put into practicing and it’s very respectable. Props to XSkull!
The ending, where you talk about how broken Uril is and how easy this game has gotten, made me think of something I've realized. So, I started playing a bit more than 2 years ago, in July 2022, and I've finished almost the entire game since about 8 month ago. And, as you say, playing now, even compared to just 1 year ago, is so easy. I think a good way to illustrate this is by 4 crowns, and the difference between the rare and special rarities. Back then, we only used special for the legend units, and they were unbelievably weaker and harder to use than the top ones of today. The rest of the linup was spammable rares such as salon, cameraman, and meatshields. None of those were free wins, and in fact, the closest we had to free wins was cameraman with a research combo, but even then, this strategy was super slow and boring, so we would often do differently (it also didn't work against backliner). Today, the rare cats, especially the gacha ones, have lost most of their relevancy. They can be used, but there are always faster and easier ways to win using modern units, even in 4 crowns, where they are the strongest. Nowadays, ramen and jurassic are the only ones that are truly irreplaceable, with all the egg units (courier) and overpowered legends (proc rares are also not mandatory, because you can brute force most enemies). The point I'm trying to make is that looking at Xskull's ranking of gacha rares, which comes from 2 years ago, he calls a big portion of them really strong. Now, nobody uses them. You might just call that powercreep, but the fact that these cc and more strategic slow play type units were replaced by brute stats is what makes the game so much easier than just a while ago. Another reason I believe the game has gotten far far easier is the fact that no stage when I look at it today look any menacing. The meta units we have for free for basically every trait shred most stages without an issue. As a result the only stages that are hard are the ones that feature rng, and the stupid spam. In any case, whenever a stage is hard, it's almost never "fun struggle". That was all over the place I don't even think I said my idea in a comprehensible way
Xskull, I feel like you heavily undermined Mina's value. You focused too heavily on her Relic matchup which should have been just a slight mention at best. Her true value lies in the fact that is the best non-Uber LD in the whole damn game. Of course you can make a case for others like Housewife, Naala etc. But she has a HUGE range advantage. Even against her most direct point of competition, Uril, she has much higher burst and still has the range advantage and their dps is still similar enough against non Relics. I feel like she is an incredibly effective unit and will provide low cost value to any stage you bring her. I have used her throughout Zero Legends and she still holds up very well especially considering the large amount of counter surge enemies in ZL where Uril isn't ideal. I feel like she should be much higher. She should be ATLEAST higher than Ururun as 90% of the time you will just bring Urs instead. Very rarely do you use both of them together.
The only time counter surge really screwed up Uril was on that one Cosmic Cyclone stage supported with Goku but he’s still barely hindered anywhere else. True points though.
For a unit you unlock fully at chap 3 itf, bahamut had done way, WAY more than necessary to earn everyone's respect. Now he shall join jizo and mitama in the:"used to be powerful club"
Videos like these are why I love this channel so much and I decided to become a member I really appreciate the work you put into the vids and the community
@@ryancollins3431 That's probably the reason why I ship them too, but I feel like I ship them for another reason than just them being rushers and nukers
1:42:10 Funny thing is, I'm told Ape Luza completely annihilates Mining Epic but to make Revival of Origin much easier, I need the legend TFs (notably Naala and Dogumaru) which require Epic Behemoth Stones so I'm either going to have to do Revival of Origin without the Legend TFs or Mining Epic without Ape Luza and I'm currently struggling on both (I spent like 200 cat food worth of energy replenishes on Mining Epic cause I'm out of leadership and the stage demands I have 1000 energy to play it).
Actually, I found some usage for filibuster at the ururuvu journals - sacrifice apprenticeship, where he can control both the bosses (and all the enemies when in TF). (this makes me think about the synergy with dogu) I know it's not much, but it was a nice find. lineup used: manic eraser, normal eraser, manic mohawk (30), slime (not manju), can can (63? 64? 65? with talents), tourist, green shell, filibuster (30 because I didn't bother upgrading to 50, and not even in TF so he could perform better), dogumaru, crystal. (I don't remember if I used items or not, but the freeze allowed can can and slime to deal a lot of damage and win.
It ain't that much, 1 euro (at least for now) but I support you as I can. Thank you to make such great videos (and to have recognized every single person in this video who purchased membership), keep it on
Bahamut my man need sometimes to breathe. He's been here for so long, and powercreeps is inevitable. Still, bro pack a punch even after all these years. Truly a stat-stick crackhead
Good list! Assuming the same rules here is what I would change: S+: Uril S: Naala, Doron, Idi Nx* A: Luza, Bahamut, Idi N2 B: Urs, Dogu C: Jagando, Mina, Ururun D: Socrates, Hermit, Yulala E: Catgod, Lil Nyandam, Musashi F: G: Mecha Bun, Valk, Filibuster Broken but unsure: Dr. Nova* *Units not yet out in EN, pure speculation
1:26:42 “Doron explodes at quite the distance, initiating his blow at 400 range” that is impressive but not really sure how his blow distance relates to his viability
I hope that for a future big patch (like a x.0) they eventually give the special legends units talents. I don't think it would be game breaking like giving fest ubers true forms and it could be a good way to revive older units to get people using them again or to provide/fix a niche that some of the other more underpowered legends try to or could cover. That way they could avoid powercreep better.
If they add true form Bahamut after the multi hit update, surely Ponor would go for 25k+25k+40k dmg instead of the original 85k + additional 5k+5k multihit😂
I feel like filibuster could be made actually decent with talents. I think giving him insane damage would at least make it so that if he (somehow) manages to hit a relic or traitless, that thing will just die. And for his other talents, well, I don't think I can make his forswing shorter, so... Less cooldown and cost down? I honestly don't know what else to think of.
I hope Bahamut gets some talents to give him the top dog status he deserves back. Survivor, strengthen, immunities, strong against, stats up, Omni strike, so many good options.
The only thing I would change about the ranking is to put Bahamut in S instead of Ape Luza, I feel that as a nuker to relics it is fine, the thing is that I feel that for the late game as well as bahamut it is equally risky to use it, to start with its true form is somewhat expensive and its cost is also very high, I feel that with a Wave Immunity it would be much more useful, for the rest I agree, bahamut will always be my favorite unit but we must accept that there are units that fulfill their role better
I mean, Luza of course is an anti-relic par excellence, however, his time between attacks can work against him, he will have to defend a lot, and against relics like R.ost or Relic Moth could kill him, even non-relic enemies like berserk kory, death kory or the doge base are enough to kill him,
@@XskullDrSkull Anyway, I feel that the fact that Bahamut is no longer used as much for me is something normal, I mean, he is one of the oldest cats in the game, and it is normal that since there are stronger enemies there have to be better options. Personally, I have used him a lot with Ururun or Urs, or in his TF with idi, even in late game like UL, leaving that aside, I really love the art of your thumbnails , how your videos are so long but enough to be very informed, you and Chillhola for me will be the best TBC TH-camrs, I really love the work and dedication you put into your videos, I wish you the best support and recognition for what you do, Greetings
@@jordydiaz2790 not really tho? He can tank the moth, lowkey, loris and is pretty much immortal against M.ost, the only relics that can fold him are zero luza and sir rel, but these two fold everything so it doesn't count. He destroys relics so bad that just sending him out is basically an instant win most of time against relics, he's just waay too broken. Bahamut struggles to do anything in late/endgame, it's pretty hard to use him when every enemy has a quatrillion hp and does 8 billion damage, zl enemies are so agressive and/or tanky that bahamut just won't cut it anymore, so i can see why xskull put him in 5.
Fantastic video! Thank you for entertaining me for a total of 4 hours, please keep up the good videos and I’ll keep handing you your 1 dollar pay check.
The one thing about this list I really disagree with is that Cat God isn't overly reliant on stages with a low base length, especially if it starts on base hit and you can buy time until Cat God reaches the base anyways. Once that happens, you're essentially rewarded with a 4 star usable super backliner that completely outlcasses lil nyandam in practice; what he lacks in dps he more than makes up for in consistent control, burst damage, and double bounty. The latter is actually very significant because both in and out of 4 star stages, pretty much every double bounty unit is limited by single target, target only, and/or overly weak stats in general. While Cat God certainly isn't a great generalist either, this distinction means that landing even one big hit before dying is likely to pay itself off, since Cat God's double bounty will have likely provided money that you otherwise would've never received from killing those same enemies. Again, not an amazing unit, but one I find quite underrated and worthy of a higher tier on the list.
I’ve reached birth of true man and rewatching this, and I forgot about the paper Mario sound track, and gotta say it works so well. And maybe getting urs first wasn’t a great idea god I hate mining epic
I knew Bahamat would fall off because the second I got Yukimura, he was always the superior option. Just mobility alone is amazing. I'm a Yakimura glazer now
i really want uril and the cats from the tower. i'm about to get master of mind soractes in three more stages, and i've only seen infernal tower once since i haven't played for that long. it would be nice if they had heavenly tower more often. great vid
It would be great if Ponos gave talents to these special legends just like they did with the lil cat units and the other special units, but it’s possible that Ponos won’t do that. But hey, at least one cat can theorize what kind of talents can be given to them right?
As much as I wish Bahamut was the best special legend unit in the game for pushing the manic, SOL, UL and advent meta so hard, I would say Uril is the second most deserving as he is the reward for completing HT + IT. Heavenly Tower is definitely the most fun I ever had with Battle Cats and beating it for the first time felt so incredibly good that I think Uril is deserving of such a high spot. Still wish Bahamut was on top though but maybe in 2030 he comes back
Now we just need a Surge Immune, Slow Immune, Relic/Sage with very long Omnistrike pierce and Waves to fight the powercreep. And Uril will still hard counter it somehow.
I have one elder catfruit and in early UL, I've already evolved Figure Skating Cats into Slapsticks, what is the next unit that you would very highly recommend me to evolve?
I'm not the guy you were asking, but I would recommend evolving Mina, Lassvoss (if you have it) or Ururun Likely evolve Mina, she's so good in true form (not as 2nd or first form) Don't evolve Delinquent cat, he ain't that good (also don't evolve Mushashi, li'l nyandam or Mecha Bun Bun, they suck)
Might be a hot take but I love using filibuster on stages that fit him. Maybe it’s just my love for Cosmo but the unit is really fun when it works Of course, the “when” is few and far between
Kasli the Bane is a very powerful unit when it comes to stats. The combination of high health and 5 knockbacks leads to her staying alive for a long time when summoned. Thanks to the powerful Surge, she is also able to deliver high and consistent damage to midrangers and backliners, such as Le'noir and R.Ost, while also intercepting incoming peons and keeping enemies that are extremely easy to knockback at bay, such as Gory variants, Brollow, Rain D. and Mr. Puffington. Lastly, she can even be used for "base trapping": if you have her hit a base and trigger a boss wave, her Surge will instantly hit and severely cripple anything that comes out, sometimes making a massive difference. Just remember that due to her blindspot and most of her damage being concentrated in the surge, she will not perform too well against Zombies, short ranged pushers like Bore or One Horn, as well as surge-immune enemies. However, a tanky unit can cover her blind spot, making her usage even more viable. Damage isn't all she has though: her Curse ability lets her disable enemies' Knockback, Slow, Freeze, Weaken, Warp, Curse, Dodge Attack and Toxic abilities. Since it has good uptime, this makes her even more useful against enemies with annoying abilities like Super Metal Hippoe, Li'l Doge, Crazed Axe Cat, Henry, Winged Pigge, Gobble, Heavenly Herald Papuu, Bakoo and all Relics. There are, however, rare instances in which her Curse ability can be counterproductive, such as against some units with Warp, who would become unable to warp any attackers they reach to safety. This is most notable against Final Boss Giga God. Her immunities to Wave Attacks, Warp, Curse, Weaken and Surges further help her with the threat posed by such abilities, especially in Uncanny Legends, Cats of the Cosmos and The Aku Realms where they are prominently active. Overall, she's an extremely powerful unit that holds her edge all the way into the endgame and has almost no drawbacks.
This cube cured my mortality All the people here who bought this wireless tungsten cube to admire its surreal heft have precisely the wrong mindset. I, in my exalted wisdom and unbridled ambition, bought this cube to become fully accustomed to the intensity of its density, to make its weight bearable and in fact normal to me, so that all the world around me may fade into a fluffy arena of gravitational inconsequence. And it has worked, to profound success. I have carried the tungsten with me, have grown attached to the downward pull of its small form, its desire to be one with the floor. This force has become so normal to me that lifting any other object now feels like lifting cotton candy, or a fluffy pillow. Big burly manly men who pump iron now seem to me as little children who raise mere aluminum. I can hardly remember the days before I became a man of tungsten. How distant those days seem now, how burdened by the apparent heaviness of everyday objects. I laugh at the philistines who still operate in a world devoid of tungsten, their shoulders thin and unempowered by the experience of bearing tungsten. Ha, what fools, blissful in their ignorance, anesthetized by their lack of meaningful struggle, devoid of passion. Nietzsche once said that a man who has a why can bear almost any how. But a man who has a tungsten cube can bear any object less dense, and all this talk of why and how becomes unnecessary. Schopenhauer once said that every man takes the limits of his own field of vision for the limits of the world. Tungsten expands the limits of a man’s field of vision by showing him an example of increased density, in comparison to which the everyday objects to which he was formerly accustomed gain a light and airy quality. Who can lament the tragedy of life, when surrounded by such lightweight objects? Who can cry in a world of styrofoam and cushions? Have you yet understood? This is no ordinary metal. In this metal is the alchemical potential to transform your world, by transforming your expectations. Those who have not yet held the cube in their hands and mouths will not understand, for they still live in a world of normal density, like Plato’s cave dwellers. Those who have opened their mind to the density of tungsten will shift their expectations of weight and density accordingly. To give this cube a rating of anything less than five stars would be to condemn life itself. Who am I, as a mere mortal, to judge the most compact of all affordable materials? No. I say gratefully to whichever grand being may have created this universe: good job on the tungsten. It sure is dense. I sit here with my tungsten cube, transcendent above death itself. For insofar as this tungsten cube will last forever, I am in the presence of immortality
@@ThisIsAHandle-xz5yo R.Ost is among the most well-equipped pushers in the game. He has fast movement speed, high health, enough range to hide behind most peons, and rapid Area Attacks that will shred your cats. The icing on the cake is his 10% Critical Hit chance which makes fighting him much more inconsistent. Fortunately, he has five knockbacks which reduces his heavy pushing power. At high strength magnifications (200% or above) R.Ost will out-perform similar bosses like Bores and Bun Buns, as there are very few consistent traitless counters working against them. On mixed stages he will disrupt whatever strategy you are using to take down the traited enemies. The bottom line is that if there is a R.Ost on a stage, you need to account for it. Yes, his last name is Ost, his first name is rich.
@@mohammed44_D'arktanyan deals massive damage to all Traitless enemies, a good bonus considering the rarity of such units. His Long Distance ability allows him to hit enemies beyond his standing range, which is also useful as he stands only at 340. When protected properly, even Deadly Stages such as Deathhawk and Ogre Island are easy to defeat, and all of the Crazed Cat Stages become a joke if you have him. Notably, the only Crazed Cats that outrange him are Crazed Tank Cat, Crazed Axe, Crazed Lizard and Crazed Bird (which is better off countered by Anti-Floating units), but D'ark is often able to be Strengthened by them, usually ending in their defeat. This is slightly paralleled by their Manic counterparts. He is also immune to Wave Attacks, letting him shut down essentially every wave enemy in the game. When strengthened, D'arktanyan's already high damage skyrockets, reaching about 112,200 damage per hit against Traitless enemies at Level 30. This makes almost all Awakening Stages and other stages containing Traitless bosses a walk in the park, so long as D'ark outranges the boss in question. However, it is not recommended to use D'arktanyan against enemies that outrange him, as he can be easily knocked back. Thus, unless you are confident he is able to attack before getting knocked back, only use in stages where he will either outrange the enemies, or where there are many peons at the front for him to use as stepping stones for his Long Distance ability. Despite him being anti-Traitless, he still has 10k strengthened DPS against traited enemies, which is among the highest in the game for LD attackers generally. Notably, his DPS against traited enemies while strengthened is also quite close to D'artanyan's. However, you do have to note that he does half the damage initially (Until the 2nd knockback). Therefore, the DPS is inconsistent, resulting in a lower average DPS.
I don’t think I’ve touched bahamut since early UL since I got Idi very early and frankly he’s just outclassed by other units in most situations outside of his tba being lower than other rusher nukers for rush/cheese strats, I stopped using bahamut for even rush strats since conjure units like the thinker or izanagi or more useful for cheesing boss waves

Also yay a Re-Rank of this :D
Wow, I'm not super far into the game so I've never seen any of these late-game cats, Doron has such a satisfying kamikaze animation! The quick shift leftwards before exploding gives you a great sense of where the 600 range hitbox actually is despite the 400 range
Amazing video, it was a blast seeing people's reaction to Bahamut's placing, truly a movie I'll probably watch fully more than once
Plot twist of cinema history
bahamut should have been number 0!
Is no one going to talk about how incredible the drawing of the legends on the thumbnail look. My gosh it’s so good…
His old art from like 2+ years was ok, but now his art is extremely good.
That was all over the place I don't even think I said my idea in a comprehensible way
Omg i love the new way of rankings and presented unit in the rankings good job Xskull❤

(this makes me think about the synergy with dogu)
I know it's not much, but it was a nice find.
lineup used:
manic eraser, normal eraser, manic mohawk (30), slime (not manju), can can (63? 64? 65? with talents), tourist, green shell, filibuster (30 because I didn't bother upgrading to 50, and not even in TF so he could perform better), dogumaru, crystal.
(I don't remember if I used items or not, but the freeze allowed can can and slime to deal a lot of damage and win.
It ain't that much, 1 euro (at least for now) but I support you as I can. Thank you to make such great videos (and to have recognized every single person in this video who purchased membership), keep it on

@@vantalore-coolguyidi on her way to obliterate megamojoe
well she didnt join uril but she's definitely better than bahamut now
I hope that for a future big patch (like a x.0) they eventually give the special legends units talents. I don't think it would be game breaking like giving fest ubers true forms and it could be a good way to revive older units to get people using them again or to provide/fix a niche that some of the other more underpowered legends try to or could cover. That way they could avoid powercreep better.
My boi hermit needs a buff !!! (I haven't even beaten SoL yet)
I love watching this long form video styles n love the new editing style
Can't forget how Cat God was given the most useless TF in the entire game with a pathetically low 1% hp boost.
the thumbnail, ending, and ranking were all top-tier, best one yet imo
If they add true form Bahamut after the multi hit update, surely Ponor would go for 25k+25k+40k dmg instead of the original 85k + additional 5k+5k multihit😂
What a timeline we lived in.
What an insane thumbnail! Love you work xskull!❤❤
i was so proud of myself for reading the entire methodology. also there's TIERS now?? awesome
The tiers are a great addition, it helps show that since a unit is better does t mean that another unit is bad
video starts at 1:53:21
I feel like filibuster could be made actually decent with talents.
Survivor, strengthen, immunities, strong against, stats up, Omni strike, so many good options.
yeah no
While we’re at it, why not throw in Counter Surge, Wave Shield, and 100% Critical to keep the dragon balanced.
@@jojidubi4100% Savage blow and a lvl 11 surge
The only thing I would change about the ranking is to put Bahamut in S instead of Ape Luza, I feel that as a nuker to relics it is fine, the thing is that I feel that for the late game as well as bahamut it is equally risky to use it, to start with its true form is somewhat expensive and its cost is also very high, I feel that with a Wave Immunity it would be much more useful, for the rest I agree, bahamut will always be my favorite unit but we must accept that there are units that fulfill their role better
I’ve seen Bahamut > Luza to be a pretty popular take so I see it valid
Filibuster is actually very good for Li'l Cats. He is accessible in 4Crowns and by freezing enemies for 4 seconds ABahamut can deal some good damage.

I'm just mad they purposely made cat god a low tier unit
Your last few videos really make me wanna replay TTYD but it was only a few months ago I played it and that’s when the remake came out

I can’t wait to see the the rankings of all special legends😅
still asking. where is my huge hermit true form review???
If you're doing 4* UL, Uril and Naala will carry you through about 90% of the stages. I tested it.
I knew Bahamat would fall off because the second I got Yukimura, he was always the superior option. Just mobility alone is amazing. I'm a Yakimura glazer now
he understands that getting to send out a bun bun is fun and cool :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
i really want uril and the cats from the tower. i'm about to get master of mind soractes in three more stages, and i've only seen infernal tower once since i haven't played for that long. it would be nice if they had heavenly tower more often. great vid
It would be great if Ponos gave talents to these special legends just like they did with the lil cat units and the other special units, but it’s possible that Ponos won’t do that.
But hey, at least one cat can theorize what kind of talents can be given to them right?
that was an awesome intro bro
Dude i cant wait to see how my favorite unit filibuster is ranked! Sure hope he gets a good spot becuase i really like him.
Props to Ururun for still being a very good option in Non-Uber gameplay, even after all this time.

This cube cured my mortality
All the people here who bought this wireless tungsten cube to admire its surreal heft have precisely the wrong mindset.

R.Ost is among the most well-equipped pushers in the game.
