Thank you. Certainly enjoyed plus your precious baby. Many of those flowers you mention y have experienced seeding themselves and left alone to my delict year after year. Nice not having to work so hard and have a colorful garden 🪴
I am planning on making big flower garden in part of my allotment plot and was searching for perennial flowers so I can plant it once and then it just regrows each season. Thanks for these suggestions, I wasn't considering self seeding annuals, but now I am.
Such a great video! Alex wants a cut flower garden badly. We just don't have the time with all of our other projects. This year she's going to mix flowers into our vegetable garden. I think my clock is up after this season and I need to finally till up a large plot for her flower dreams.
Yep, one step at a time. I never used to include flowers in my garden (other than marigolds to deter pests) I didn't feel like I could justify the cost for something I couldn't eat! So I started with growing edible flowers, and then fell in love with having the flowers in the garden. I felt like the "joy" from the beauty of the flowers was worth as much as the food:-)
Thank you for this video. Does this mean that if I buy and spread these seeds randomly in the ground, there's a good chance to actually have these flowers?
If you are planting some place new I would recommend laying down about 1-2 inches of compost first and sprinkling the seeds over that. Keep the compost damp with water until the seeds begin to sprout. (In warmer climates the best time of year to do it is in the fall). If they grow well for you that first year they will have no trouble coming back each year.
Some good hummingbird flowers that are easy to grow from seed are delphinium and zinnia. Bee balm is also good and is a perennial so it will return each year!
I'm not a loyalist to any company. I have Johnny's, Floret, Botanical Interests, Hudson Valley, and plenty of "whatever brand the hardware store had on sale"!

Yes, there is a house down the street with a huge patch of cosmos each summer. I don't think they replant any of it!

Thank you for this video! Where are you located? I'm in zone 8b in north Louisiana
I'm in Indiana. In 8b you may see some of these start growing in the fall and overwinter. It gives them a head-start in the spring for earlier blooms.

New sub...thank you. 😊
I have the perfect place for these seeds! Are these also good for hummingbirds?

Awesome! Would they self seed if there's mulch?
I think they would grow if there's mulch, unless you are laying a thick layer of fresh mulch in the spring before they've sprouted.
This was great!!! Thank you 😊 where are your seeds from?

I can never grow bachelor's button. I tried several times but the caterpillars always eat them before I can transfer them,.
Oh, that's interesting! I haven't seen any pest trouble in Indiana, Texas or California. I wonder what kind of caterpillar it is...
@@wanderingstarfarmhouse I live in Dallas.
In what zone does this work ???
I am in 6. So for sure in 6,7,8,9. I don't have experience with zones 5,4 or others.
What zone are you
Zone 6 we get sub 0 Fahrenheit a few days each winter.
Love the badminton reference 🏸 💛
