Good evening! Thank you so much to everybody for helping the channel reach over 8,000 subscribers - it's a lovely milestone and I hope you continue to enjoy the many new walks coming from around the UK in the future :) This evening, we're going for a walk in the tourist hub of the Lake District, and in Bowness-on-Windermere, which, despite its relatively remote location, is one of the most easily accessible towns in the Lake District. The train that stops at Windermere station comes all the way from Manchester Airport, while bus routes run from Cumbria towns Barrow-in-Furness and Keswick, and of course many ferries that criss-cross Lake Windermere!
We absolutely love Bowness, as a keen hiking family, we spend a lot of time up there & have hiked a lot of the peaks overlooking lake Windermere, such as Hart crag & St Sunday crag.
Ah yes, Bowness. Must admit, seeing all those tourists reminded me of the time I was travelling around the UK and stopped in Bowness out of curiosity. The crowds were, well, crowds, and I too sought shelter in the peace of St Martin's. Such a dramatic shift a simple stone wall can make. This Walk brings back great memories of the Lake District. Thank you for another stimulating walk. Cheers!
Yes indeed! The crowds in the Lake District have certainly been a fixture for a long time, but as you smartly found there are still many places just a stone's throw away where you can take in the serene tranquility of the region all the same :) Thank you so much for watching - I'm really glad you enjoyed the video and that it brought back some nice memories of the Lake District for you!
Excellent. This was quite literally a trip down memory lane for me, as I grew up in Bowness. During the summer months my Mother would operate the family home as a guest house, opposite the steam boat museum. In almost 40 years of having left, not much has changed, except perhaps for the abundance of trendy café bars and eateries. Thanks for the upload. There were one or two facts I didn't know about my childhood hometown 👍
Thanking you 🤗 for another superb Let's Walk Video...I hope 🤞 you have enough Fuel to get to your next destination...If Not- relax and take a breather and a well deserved break.....
Ha ha thank you very much! I'm all good for fuel - my two legs power me around the country more than anything :) So do stay tuned for many more videos to come in the future :)
I just got back 3 days ago what lovely places to eat and so many church's and dogs haha if I stayed there 3 more days I swore I would of come back a changed man my best place in England by a mile

Nice walk in the town today on a sunny day. I enjoyed it very much. The medieval buildings are beautiful and historical. Your history lessons are great, and your walks are always enjoyable. Can't wait to see more soon. How is your weekend going?. Mine is going good. Have a great day 😀 . have you ever been to Jersey island between the Channel. I've been there years ago. I heard it's a great place to visit and walk. 😀
Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed the video - Bowness is a fascinating place indeed :) I've never been to Jersey or any of the Channel Islands actually, but I'm certainly looking forward to visiting in future and making some videos there too!

Merci beaucoup! Je suis très heureux que vous avez aimé le vidéo - Bowness est une ville vraiment belle et pleine de charme historique, surtout quand on découvre les histoires de Beatrix Potter, qui vous rappelez bien du film avec Renée Zellweger :)
I worked here from 16 after having a weekend kp job at 15 at the belsfield Hotel I'd travel from Bolton to bowness by train then moved into staff accom the moment I left school, I've worked at booths, the olde England as waiter and night Porter their staff accom is right next to the hotel and also at the very top of the hill passed bargain booze (health hazard when I lived in their) belsfield hotel, windermere hotel, gilpin Lodge on crook Road I also worked at Tony Knowles place for a few months which was my last stint at working in the lakes, Though its a lovely place its designed more around married couples and families I'd never recommend a young lad to start his working career up here unless you don't mind loneliness and your only friends being either Polish or of some other nationality mostly Polish, also worked at the lake view before it closed which was just above the arcade next to the boat rental spot

Congratulations about the 8000 subscribers.
I was disapointed with this film as i had to EITHER read the history OR admire the beautiful place.

The picture you include as Hill Top Farm is wrong!
You are of course correct, that is not Hill Top.
You're absolutely right! My apologies for the mistake - but thank you very much for pointing it out :)

My favourite shop herdy sheep 🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑
It's just Windermere, not "Lake" Windermere..... The "mere" part actually means a large open body of water.......
It’s a village not a town
