This was a great battle. Ponos battling technique reminded me of Napom, how he would constantly mock his opponent, and then in his rebuttal would copy his opponent and then switch to his style. Inertia has used those songs many times and Pono called him on it and backed it up with some crazy combos. Congratulations to Pono.
BTW, do Inertia and Pono have the same barber?

I gotta respect how good inertia has gotten at controlling his sounds over the years. He progressively sounds more comfortable with each tournament :) Congrats to pono tho that guys been grinding for a long time too

Small detail but I found it funny at 1:09 when Pono heard inertia's first drop he immediately made eye contact with Den in the crowd and did the "biting" motion (we can tell he was looking at Den bc we see him in the next shot looking away almost in disbelief).

I'm just so incredibly happy and proud to see Pono achieve this. He's a great friend and an absolute beast (on the track) of a beatboxer. Well deserved.
I do want to say though that although King Inertia didn't take the title, he is still one of the best beatboxers. He is obviously a top competitor but offstage, he is also a great and chill person too, and his passion for beatboxing is unrivaled. I do think he will take this title one day, and if not, another title just as impressive or more.

what a battle. Pono's bars added so much to his rounds. The first half of King Inertia's rounds were kinda just his usual stuff but then he brings in new beats in the second half and that's where it hits. At 5:00 , that shit was fire. However, Pono brought the frickin battle to a higher level in his second round.

first and foremost i wanna say a hug congratulations to PONO🎉🎉 ive been supporting him for many years now so seeing him win this really made me happy for him, but i also wanna say that k.i. stood his ground till the very end and is an absolute beast. be happy for both of them for coming this far instead of hating bc your favorite beatboxer didn’t win, we also didn’t get that live experience so we cant really say anything 🤷

Why the all seeing eye in the background ?
inertia needs some new routines but i have to say all ponos beats sounded very quite and not very powerful, kinda swung the battle in inertias favour for me.
Exactly my thoughts, pono is not a powerful beatboxer and also felt that if inertia had battled him like in top 16 or top 8, even top 4 inertia would of take the championship. The bama bama part was the most powerful sounding in that routine lol.
i dont think that pono is necessarily not powerful he seems to have plenty of it, he may have not presented it perfectly this battle or the whole tournament, but performing live you cant always be perfect, and his power wasn’t perfect but in my personal opinion it was just fine
Were you at the battle live? Or are you just basing it off the video cause Some people sound way more powerful live than in videos for example BMG is one of em
it's something to do with the video, I was there and ponos sounds were pretty much just as loud as inertias. inertia is generally a more powerful beatboxer but this video doesn't do pono justice in that regard

i can admit, KI is my favorite beatboxer but he was a little sloppy and he had to try and freestyle most of the rounds but he did make it this far and pono was pretty much flawless i support him also bc i’m a hawaii boy as well born and raised so i’m proud of him repping hawaii and his victory was much deserved.

I dont know if im an ignorant, a hater, an idiot or what. Inertias rounds are always the same and PONOs rounds are the same as ZVDs (or zvds are the same as pono, idk who made em first but its the same). Im sorry, im surely wrong, i just wanna understand.
okay, i dont think pono or zvd have the same rounds or anything, just use the same sounds, but pono has been using double voice and inward for while now but i feel theres no true copy from either or
@@nicobbx2397 right, i know it's not te same round exactly but the dame structure maybe? That doble voices high pitch scale and the inward-double voice combo. I know pono goes way back. Maybe after hearing Colaps, Footbox, Zekka, Hiss, River at gbb (i know it's not the same competition, level or intensity) with such a complex beatbox, it makes me want more from competitors with a Big Name. Maybe it's about style and personal taste. I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful. I just want to know where am wrong. Thanks for replying ❤️

The insults were off-putting... didn't feel good seeing this win. Honestly, Pono is alright, but I didn't "feel" it - King Inertia hits something different in the brain and in your gut...something activates. Pono's style was overly technical and lacked that "something special." Respect to both for their skill level.
