Sure, it fires faster and therefore does more "damage," but that is if you can land every shot that comes out of it as well as keep your aim on the target the entire time you're hittin' that trigger. Even then, you have to consider how troublesome reloading shells into that shotgun -- especially in a combat situation -- is going to be. It'd be easier and wiser to have rounds in the chamber (or rather, in the tube) more often than not in any scenario, wouldn't you say?

I guess the viewmodel was made before the ammo model, and they never bothered to update the viewmodel to match for some reason.
These weapons mods continue to get better and better, but they never fix the problem of apparently ejecting non-spent primers from the revolver. Is there some technical limitation making this impossible?
From the age of 20 to current 35. The source engine in my opinion has always looked outstanding. It’s defiantly showing it’s age to the unreal engine 4, cry engine and I’d tech however the things the black Mesa devs are pulling off is just a testament to how long this engine is still relevant.

He spins the revolver cylinder the wrong way (something the original animation and black mesa got right), and partially pulling the hammer back won't realign the cylinder when you put it back down.

All the sounds are those of guns shot in a wide open firing range surrounded by hills. The in-game location is much more closed with concrete walls and buildings close by. Gun sounds should closely respond to the environment they're in.
You're getting a dislike for not sharing links to these enhanced weapon models. Searching for these gives too many results as MMod in and of itself is an enhancement mod.
It's a setting in MMod to turn it on if traditional ironsights is more your cup of tea. There is actually a lot of settings and nick-nacks you could play with in MMod.
The ar2 feels a bit off to me. The enhanced version is too gray and dull, and doesn’t fit the combine metal theme of having a bluish tint. Even with the base model, the grip on the magazine throws me off a bit. You wouldn’t hold a tommy gun by the drum, which is basically what they’re doing. Speaking of weapon stances, the smg1 and the shotgun also feel off. They aren’t angled enough, and appear tiny in comparison to the other two handed firearms. The case is especially dire for the shotgun. Other than that, I’m reminded that MMod has probably the best weapon animations out of all HL2 mods(Maybe better than mod Black Mesa? Its about even). They just need to be more strict on the guy in charge of the weapon idle poses.

As for the drum argument, I generally agree, but it's an alien gun, so it has at least an excuse. The Thompson SMG wasn't made by interdimensional alien invaders...or was it?

Everything is better in terms of sound and visuals except for the SMG. Missing the stock, plus made it... dirty? All of the other weapons went from dirty to clean and polished, and this went from clean and polished to dirty (it was also among the few models to actually get an updated texture in vanilla MMod). The shooting sound also sounds like the bass was completely removed and the treble was increased. It sounds horrible and annoying, and the repetition in the sound bites is very noticable.
So for the most part, the animations are the same between both mods. The only difference would be the models, which to me some look better in one and some look better in the other.
Nope, models are exactly the same. All someone did was slapping a new, higher res texture (that sucks) on top of the existing models. Looks too clean, too sterile. The dust and grime and all the scratches added a lot of realism, now the weapons look like brand-new off-the-shelf ones
Yeah the funny thing is in a previous version of the mod they made him hold it with 2 hands, and now they put it back to 1 hand they should honestly make it an option as to how he holds it in the settings

The weird design of the ar2 doesn't really allow gripping it properly in any other place. But it's a totally fictional weapon anyway.

I think that might be because the sound designer uses a sample from JBA.

looks like the crossbow is take to long to reload in mmod than half life 2 original crossbow
Never did get proper ironsights to work, always went off screen for me.
there's a readme file for that.

Did anyone else notice that you can't turn the laser guidance off on the RPG in 1.3?
Apparently they did it because it was "overpowered"
@@peppermillers8361 overpowered? Seriously? It gave it a similar function to the original RPG from Half-Life one I liked having the option to turn off the laser guide. Because then I can fire a rocket at a sniper not have to stand out in the open guiding it to it with a laser I could get behind cover.
@@automatonm99 that's what one of the devs told me. He was confused about it as I was when he heard it was overpowered.

Play the vanilla game first, then decide if you want to play it with MMod.
I have read here some messages where author trying to say that new weapons are worse than older. What can I say? That is incredibly stupid person or just troll^^
You see, the SMG has a collapsed stock so obviously the older models are better.
