I agree with you! She could place it on the backside of the metal sheet. Really nice upgrade! I hate my crawl space( not a basement). I hate going in there!
I was so confused at the layout at first. I didn’t realize there were stairs going down since the shelves were all level I was like wait how is she getting lower and lower 😂 great idea and great job !! Looks nice
Basements creep me out... but your after version has made the most inviting basement entry I've ever seen! What a huge transformation! It's beautiful!!
Gorgeous, just remember to keep things on the wall high enough so you do not knock it off while going downstairs with laundry and things, been there, done that :)
This is exactly what my husband is doing. But he’s going to build the floor out and close it in for an actual pantry. Just gonna have a trap door to the basement. Eventually lol
@@lifewithmalay4552 nope I actually don’t have any social media what so ever. I’m a weirdo 30 year old that thinks social media’s the devil lol besides TH-cam. And funny story. I just sold my house yesterday so it went under contract today. We’re building a home haha. Thought we would jump on the band wagon of everyone selling their houses.
You and your mom are killing me over here... love the joy and giggles... you guys will have that memory to cherish. Looks like an entire family project; everybody gave it a dose of love and TLC, and I'm sure that is why it all turned out so magnificently - great job, everybody!!!!
this was fun to watch as i grew up with pantry, but, my grampa put a floor door over the opening to the cellar-so you can walk into the pantry or lift door and latch it and go down to the basement. you did a wonderful job and it looks amazing
wowowowowowowow!! This might be my favorite transformation you’ve done so far! I’m so glad you went with the French door. Would be such a waste for all the beautiful decor to be hidden. This video gave me so much serotonin!
You 100% made the right choice with white stairs. Hands down the best transformation and I actually didn't particularly care for the farmhouse look before the finale. ABSOLUTELY LOVE!
Enjoying this video I love remodeling taking something that looks gross and turning it into something beautiful. I'm just very curious of why you didn't get a couple thick sheets of plywood or make a trapped door and put it for the floor closing off the staircase it would have made it a lot easier for you to move around in that space
End look is great just don’t know how safe or practical it is as a pantry. I’m terrified of heights my vertigo was acting up just watching you go up the ladder then I freaked out when I saw the stairs going down. I spent the whole video praying I wouldn’t throw up and that you would fall and break your neck. Despite my terror I watched till the end and I’m very glad I did, new subscriber now
O girl it turned out AMAZING we live in Costa Rica there is no way I could put the salt shakers there we have so many earth quakes they would be all on the floor.
It’s looks great! When I am hanging anything colorful on a white background, I “paint” the nails with Whiteout. It sticks well to nails, dries looking like chalk paint, and helps the nail fade into the background.
My dad built a shelf area in his wifes house. That has a pull down set of stairs so she can walk into the second level. Her stairs are suoer steep into her basement though. So at one point its 9 ft high.
That's exactly what I was thinking!! I have the same space and I thought how cool would it be to put in a floor but have it hinged so you could still use the stairs, which we don't use often anyways!!
There must be a way to make a temporary floor over the stairwell so you can reach everything better. Maybe a fold down platform from the wall on hinges just like a fold down table only this would be a fold down floor. It can rest on the far wall floor and your kitchen floor.
My Grandma had a similar area in her staircase too. She stored tools and such. Your pantry is GORGEOUS!!! I love the transformation, you did a great job!! Love it!! TFS.😊 👍 💖
We painted our stairs black and have zero issues with them. They don’t show much of anything and we have white walls and backing next to them so we can still see just fine without them blending in too much together.
You did an excellent job. Your dads help and idea really was the icing. You're like me when it comes to ladders, that's why I wear my helmet and goggles when I'm on one. Also, my crawl space scares me too. Ours is the length of the house and you gave me an idea.💡Thanks for your post of this beautiful pantry transformation.
WOW indeed. This has to be the best transformation I’ve seen in a while. I love your passion and love towards genuine antique pieces. It’s absolutely stunning. You should be proud. xxx
You should be very proud of all your hard work, it truly looks amazing. What a terrific job and it looks completely transformed, cozy, stylish and very good use of creating storage.
By far one of the best before and after I have ever seen! Love the energy and love that so many people love you and see your vision that's very special to have! Its beautiful and watching this made me feel like one of the family! I NEVER comment on videos but could not pass this up! Great job!
Have you thought about doing a platform as a floor and securing it with either piano hinges or a continuous hinge? I would drill it into the studs on the wall and put it over the lip lifting upward onto the side you have your decorations on with a couple of strong hooks to hold it in place when it's up. Beautiful makeover by the way, I love your design!
Very pretty pantry. Great transformation. Your end result is very well put together. I love the long handled copper piece. Good idea hunting at garage sales. A relative in Italy collected copper pieces. They were hung on a white wall in a kitchen/family room with a 15' ceiling. It looked so beautiful.
You are fantastic, I could never do most of that myself! My hubby is a carpenter so I just leave everything like that to him, I'm clueless on even how to work his tools! I love it, it's beautiful!
Looks so nice!! My parents used the steps to their basement as a pantry, too. Theirs was much more utilitarian. Nothing pretty. Kinda dangerous, though. My only advice is to back that pretty screen to the crawl space with something solid. You done want to draw the under house air into the rest of your house. If you have any leaks in your ductwork that air can be pushed into your walls and down to your crawl space and drawn into you hvac system.
What is nice is when you don’t use the stairs that much (like it's a unfinished basement) you can put a trap over the whole staircase creating à floor. I used to live in a house with a set up like that, the floor of the pantry was on inges and we would access the bassement by opening it :)
Crazy clever! I don't think I would've ever thought of turning a dingy basement into a pantry!!! I think covering the steps with matching wood to your main floor would look awesome. If you love labeling & making home decor...you should look into a Cricut.
We have a similar stairwell that we painted years ago and added shelves to make functional and take away the creepy factor....but yours is wayyyyyy better and now I’m seriously thinking about a shelf refresh and a glass door!!! Love this, great job!
This is SO gorgeous! Probably my favorite transformation on your channel to date. It's beautiful! I also collect those copper tins/molds. I am also trying to fill wall space with those (vintage, of course) and vintage iron trivets. I just LOVE how they look.
The angles and steps had me going for a minute there. After realizing the steps was there I felt like I was there with your mom saying be careful! My nerves 😂 his came out so great! Such a creative job!!
So beautiful! You did an amazing job at redoing your pantry. I love that you use the copper as wall ornaments, it reminds me of how a lot of my family members hang theirs.
OMG SO SMART!! I literally just painted my super high up ceiling in my stairway and I can’t frickin get the edges and corners with the roller. Tape the paint brush to the pole!! Brilliant! Thank you for this video I’m so dumb I would never have thought of that. Or just got on Amazon and spent a bunch of money on something I don’t need.
Add some window screen to the back side of the "creepy" hole cover.....no bugs or spiders can get thru into your house. Great job you did.
I agree with you! She could place it on the backside of the metal sheet. Really nice upgrade! I hate my crawl space( not a basement). I hate going in there!
At first I thought it was just a little room but it is actually the stairwell. What a transformation. Gorgeous

Hahah thank you!!
I was confused as well...lol!
Same! I was like wait... why is there a pantry with no floor? 😂
@@meh5069 exactly I thought maybe the floor got blown out or something 🤣
I thought my coffee wasn’t strong enough that first 🤣 same thoughts lol

Great tip!!
Plus, sometimes less "stuff" on the walls looks like MORE. Otherwise it can get too "busy."
With all these renovations, your property value is most likely three times higher than when you bought it. You guys are amazing! It looks beautiful.
This is exactly what my husband is doing. But he’s going to build the floor out and close it in for an actual pantry. Just gonna have a trap door to the basement. Eventually lol
Thats a better idea because she can’t easily reach a lot of those items without a ladder

FYI, the board is beadboard; wainscoting is decorative paneling that goes partly up the wall usually to the chair back height. Looks good.
this honestly reminds me of something disney would do in a restaurant or store, just place making to add to the ambiance
What an amazing difference 👏 👌 🙌 😍

Great job! You may want to get some museum putty for the antique shakers. $5 from Amazon or hardware store & will protect them from falling.

I've never seen someone put their pantry on stairs before, looks good tho!
Looks so beautiful but seems so impractical 😅

alot of the older homes, especially farm houses, in my area have pantry like this
I have a huge area like this and it's a waste of space. This is a great idea.
We used to have that in our home when I was little ... But we had a door over the floor so you could actually walk into the pantry ❣️
