I have a PIA, that pick-ups blows me out of my mind, clean, crunched and high gain
Sounds amazing! The best i had in 41 years of playing! Thank you for posting! 🎯
can i use them for blues and classic rock ????
@@rv6205 yep! ♨️
Seriously some of coolest shredding I have seen in years. Tasteful and musical. Sounds fantastic.
You should really get out more!
Hilarious to do a Roth song post-Vai! Great playing and great review.
I knew somebody would say something
You make beautiful music. Happy New Year, everyone
That guitar is gorgeous along with you class playing mate 👏
I put them in my Harley benton fusion 3 guitar from 2023, also the single coil!
Now it sounds like what you! Just amazing....... 🎯
What single coil did you go?
@@BigWillba an unknown piece of good labour, handmade! Sorry...... 😊
Sounds great. My old Vai evolution is still my go to high-gain pickup.
Utopia sounds Killer! Nice demo! Harmonics jump right out.
Awesome as always! Great sounding pickups!
Always brilliant, Cam! Great video
I like that your playing is pretty distinct and identifiable. You can tell it’s you, which I think is a defining characteristic of a good guitar player.
Great job Cameron!
Happy new year Cameron! Awesome video as always.
Happy new year 🎉🎉🎉 and thank you for sharing 🙏
thank you for showing us
Beautiful playing and very good Demo!
What better way to see the new year out....Happy New Year to you Cam, can't wait to hear what you got for 2024 🤘🏼😈🤘🏼🏴
What a beautiful guitar! The etching on the gold pickups really go well with the purple sparkle.🤘
Your such a great player brother. Happy new year and appreciate you sharing .
I just bought the whole set man 😊
I haven't wired them yet but geeeod damn I wanna do it right now after seeing this.
You're a killer guitarist bro!
so visually appealing! and sounds amazing.
Very glam n beatiful indeed! I need to get a pair! Thanks for sharing Cam!
I gotta say you can play guitar brother you make it look easy even tho its not. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!🎈🎉🎇🎆🎊🎄🎁🎅🎆🎇🎉🎈
I talked to Steve once over the phone, after a radio interview. He just picked up and started answering my questions, one after another. One of my favorite people and guitar players. I am interested to see what his pickups can do on an old, parts guitar.
I put a Utopia HSH set (uncovered) in a 22 fret American strat. They are actually chameleon pickups...
DiMarzio somehow took all of the harmonics, pure power and blazing note attack of the Evolution humbuckers but made them more versatile and musical IMO. Also you gotta try an HSH set with the Utopia single coil! The 2/4 positions are insane on a strat... Heck even the middle pickup sounds sweet on clean/low gain when I feel like Tomo Fujita
С новым годом Кемерон, как всегда огонь, здоровья, удачи, ждём новых видео 😊❤
Great playing 🎸 as always Dude...I always wondered if those pickup were high output or not. Medium output just sounds abd response so much better. Have a good day Dude 😎👊
Damn those sound really clean.
Viva Dimarzio!💥🎶🎸
Happy New Year to all 6 String killers🎆🎶🎸🍻
I have these in my tiger striped pacer and it's the best guitar ever now
Just got a HSS set for a mayo im fixing - I feel like I made the right choice!
Modding Hb, my favourite job😎😎😎
Seriously great playing as ever. These sound kinda like Evos to me and therefore unfriendly, big fan of Vai's sound on Eat Em And Smile guess that was PAF Pros.
You can do a very similar thing with these. The sound of Steve Vai is in his fingers methinks.
I've played PAF Pros and Evos and these feel more similar to PAF Pros honestly, but with a bit of that Evo "unfriendliness" as you say with regards to pick attack/unwanted noise , but to me that's how they produce such amazing harmonics. You have to have your muting under control playing with distortion.
I bought a PIA really just for something to look at and admire, but, man, these pickups are insane! Tbh its kind of a surprise since my setup isn't something you would think they would shine at. I run a Rockerverb mkIII and use a Earthquaker Devices Acapulco Gold fuzz for a doomy shoegazer type vibe. I dont know what it is, and I dont much care, but they sound better than any other pickup that ive thrown at it, and I've thrown a lot.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
They’re pretty, and your playing is as wonderful as always, but the pickups themselves are quite a bit too shrill sounding in my opinion. The Nasguls have similar bite but are much easier on the ears and will sit in a mix better. Just an opinion though. Don’t mind me.
Now try adding a treble bleed circuit and the tonal palette becomes even more infinite 👍🏼
Maybe... it sounds good as it is though.
@@CameronCooper Absolutely gorgeous look and sound. Great playing by the way.
Best demo of the UtoPIA pickups I’ve seen! Amazing work, Cam!
HAPPY NEW YEAR...Everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Except Gibson... (just kidding)
I might spend more on these pickups than the Ibanez s621qm-deb I just purchased used.
I think they’ll look and sound amazing in that guitar
Playing DLR tunes Steve didn't play on...classic!
Who said I had to play the one's Steve played on? Taught a load of them before and covered a couple last year. Don't want to play the same stuff over and over again aha. Jason Becker doesn't get the credit he deserves for the brilliant album he did with DLR anyway.
Nobody said ya had to. It's not a slam. I actually thought it was beautifully ironic. I often thought Jason was a killer player, and I think they were trying to make him sound a little like Vai, probably against his wishes. @@CameronCooper
Great playing man. Question…what amp/modeler/plug in are you using.?
Especially for the lead tone.
Blackstar AMPED 3
hello Cameron, thank you for your review and your excellent playing.
I bought a set of utopia humbuckers for an HH peavey HP2 wich has a basswood body, but I'm not sure if this was a good option. wich body wood is this guitar on this video made of? thank you
The body on this is guitar is nyatoh
I've been trying to decide if I want to change the Tone Zone and Air Norton pickups in my Ibanez RGT, I think you may have sold me on these Cameron, keep on rocking!
Great playing mate, but wasn’t A little ain’t enough played by Jason Becker?
😂🤘🏻 Let’s be ya work.
It was a Jason Becker track. I just felt like playing it.
Hey Cameron great playing as always! What amp are you playing through in this video? Cheers
I am using the Blackstar AMPED 3
How is the Utopia Single Coil pickup?
If I had it, I would tell you.
Have you tried an Ibanez Pia or Strandberg Boden True Temperament?
I haven't tried either of those.
Was that “going crazy” ? Sounded nice and crispy
It was :)
Welp…looks like these are going into my new custom Sully.
Me want!
3:38 is this a song ?
Very similar to Duncan Jupiter’s
This better or PAF PRO?
Up to you. I like these
Is that a Harley Benton?
Yes. Harley Benton Fusion T purple sparkle
@@CameronCooper your videos and playing influenced me to buy a fusion 3. Freaking LOVE it.
The poles are rhinestones !!!??? You sure these aren't Dolly Pardon signature pickups? Or maybe "Cause I Wanna Be a Rhinestone Cowboy, Baby" Kid Rock signature pickups ???
Yeah...as you can tell I'm not feeling the rhinestone thing, but other than that, they sound like sizzling hot rails to hell.
Who's actually looking at poles on etched pickup covers?
Me.👁@@CameronCooper
These sound a Litlle like .....van Halen 🙃
