Personally I liked the Live action Lion King. The original Lion King movies are my favorite Disney movies, and the live action one had fan service for fans of the original, like how when finding Simba Timon said "Here we go again" and I didn't get why people hated it. When I ask people, a lot of the time it comes back to the facial expressions, or what they would say is the lack of them. I guess it makes sense, it's a CGI Lion, it can't really look traumatized, but why still watch the movie knowing you won't like it?
All that said, I think you actually made a good argument. In fact, actual good criticism. Looking back at these scenes compared to the original, I actually think I agree with you. I'm happy that, unlike other people, you gave actual good reasons for why you think these things.
The original is still the best Disney movie though and you can't change my mind.

For the actors of Scar and Mufasa, it may have been the directing from the director may not have been there, or as good as other parts of the movie.
