- This clip is from the Bandit Grovmalet radio show hosted by Peter Iwers (ex In Flames) and Fredrik Stenberg (PIGG), both huge fans of Kee's playing. This was not prepared in advance. We brought a guitar and a little Marshall practise amp and asked Kee if he would play the solo. Kee was a great sport and accepted the challenge without hesitation, and nailed it.
For the record - the guitar in the clip (not Kee's own guitar!) had heavy strings (.011 - .052). It's HARD to do those crazy bends at the end of the solo with such heavy strings. You can see Kee shaking his left hand in pain at the end of the clip.

@@simonealbertini5580 John Norum played The Final Countdown solo. Kee was not on original The Final Countdown record. He is on the reissue, however. He can be heard in the live version.

Dam he plays it a different way every time I see him play it for someone.
Depends on the guitar. He has a "22-fret version" that repositions some of the notes that he originally played on 24 frets.

He plays the fast run slightly different from how he played it on the RHS tape , incredible player.
He only has 22 frets here
Ive just learnt that solo from the RHS tape,,think im going to change that fast run to this as it looks slightly easier
@@fretburns In the 22-fret version you have to do a string skip in the ascending part but the gain is that you land on a better finger for the final vibrato on that part than in the 24-fret version!

I like them. They are both great guitarists in their own style. Kee played very well on Europe songs with John, such as The Final Countdown and others but for the song 'Superstitious', John didn't get it.
And I'm trying to learn this by ear ....
I´m trying to say that some might play only couple notes solo with amazing sound and touch with very meticulous bendings and vibrato, there is million times more music with nyances that someone with shitty sound exercising scales up and down having nothing to say.If you don´t get it,there´s nothing to talk about music.I don´t have videos playing these solos,that´s not the point. Check those hobbyversions and compare this. It´s so soothing to hear even he is not amazing superguitarist but GOOD

I know that, got this record and have listened this album several times and know damn well when it damn well when it has been played correctly with a good sound also. I don't mean studio version but listen here on youtube so you'll find thousand times better trainee versions than who played this on record. Kee is a great guitarist though anyway and wonderful personality, I just critisized this very version, that's all

This is a borrowed guitar that Kee used for this spontaneous solo. It's a 2007 SG1000 in black sparkle finish, a one of a kind from the custom shop. /F-type

I have never met him but I believe that no-one would take to their band completely 24/7 asshole or other waya difficult personality, I can believe he might be very nice guy with the good mood while playing. I have absolutely nothing against him.NOTHING! My point is that John Norum have played so damn solos like Final Countdown and Rock the night with amazing touch and sound. If you hear something shit just something that way after that, you´ll get disappointed.

Hilarious that people would try to criticize Kee goofing around on a random guitar through a random amp. No reverb and bad tone? This is him messing around and recorded with a shitty camera mic, if you expect concert or studio audio quality, then you'll obviously be very disappointed.

I have absolutely nothing to do with Zappa so quit mentioniong that dude at same time with Kee and me. You can say EVH, Vai, Mark Knopler and so on so then are we talking right things. That was not the disappointment when guitar was random and lousy amp. This has nothing to do with studio or gigs but he played so broad minded, lots of mistakes with timings, legatos, bendings of course (thick strings).It´ s a big relief that we are able to play same way with mistakes sometimes like he did.
