Fun fact: This video was actually uploaded on the 13th anniversary of the premiere of this iteration of My Little Pony. So nice of Nux to commemorate this most blessed day. Truly, he is God's strongest brony.
As with all fandoms, it’s only the outliers that are remembered. I just enjoyed the animation and messages the show had, but some people ruined the good image the show had.
Exactly. Some good stuff came out of the early fandom/ events, where it was an open and friendly, safe community. It became a good place to go and socialize even if you were not neurotypical, or even had more extreme social anxieties. They were known as a safe convention to attend, even if you were or were bringing someone with a disability that made it very difficult to attend similar events, as at least at the MLP cons, it didn't bother anyone, there would be no ridicule or mocking, no one would try to take advantage of someone's disabilities, and it was just... safe. People really embraced the idea of wanting everyone around them to have a good time too, and would do their best not to do anything that would stop that. They were (among or possibly the first) conventions to start using the Red/Yellow/Green social badges, to indicate at a distance to others whether you were comfortable being approached or talked to, just to help those with social anxiety feel comfortable attending, knowing they would not be forced to interact with anyone if they didn't feel comfortable or didn't want to. It began as a really beautiful thing, but then it got so popular that it of course attracted trolls, and let's be honest, a safe haven with a fat larger than average percentage of attendees who were socially uncomfortable or had disabilities is basically a barrel of fish for ableist jerks. And of course that also included the 4chan crowd, so. It was only downhill from there. It's a shame, as those first couple of years were just... something else. Genuinely nice, and full of smiles from a friendly crowd. I guess it's true what they say, though... All good things must come to an end. F those creepy guys who ruined it for us all, though. They suck. Edit : Oh! And let's not forget that almost all of the cons were charity events, and how the MLP fans raised literally millions of dollars for charities, primarily for research on children's medicine/procedures for disabilities/the disabled. Can't leave that out. The fans did a lot of good there too.
I was never into it, but my oldest daughter was, and I can appreciate that it wasn’t just some mindless kids cartoon and would occasionally give us something to talk about if I popped in and wanted to know what was going on. These days my younger kids love bluey and that’s similarly well made and wholesome as fuck. I appreciate these things because most kids themed content is mindless and I can’t stand being in the same room for too long, not that we even watch a lot of tv to begin with, but just a little bit if something like blippy was a lifetime worth of cancer inducing cringe. If I’m going to monitor what my kids watch, I appreciate it when it’s not trying to kill me in the process.
Gonna say this. Based on the law. He didn't actually do anything. which is why hes not in jail. He started too and made lude suggestions however. Nothing sold to go on because no evidence can be used in court. Because he did not continue. So you cant throw a man in jail for starting to do a crime then getting common sense an stopping.
Comment again. 47:14 into the video. If there where such an important issue with people becoming weirdos or pedos then why is it over the 10 years it was on. You only found 2 people who where like this? It isn't the show. its the people. There is nothing wrong with the show.
Unfortunately. Its only the weirdos we remember. I dont really consider myself apart of this group anymore. But I greatly enjoyed the show. It had good messages for all people, regardless of age. But like furries, we only remember the chris-chans.
Lauren Faust has a DeviantArt account, and was questioned about how she felt that "a bunch unwashed man-children" had taken an interest in MLP. Her response was that little girls would be watching the show with their fathers, and she wanted to make a show the two could share, instead of little girls just watching, and the fathers trying to suppress all their pained moans and groans. As a result, she said it didn't surprise her that the show gained a male demographic as a result. With that said, I was a part of the fandom for a while, and I was aware of that stuff like what was happening with ToonKritic was occurring, my experience with the fanbase was positive. The fanbase had its dark side, to be sure, but I encountered just as many good people, too. Though, it helped greatly that I was told repeatedly to avoid 4chan, even outside the fandom. Really, it seems like the big reason why the worst side of the fanbase became the face of it to the public was because of how much the interest in the show went against the societal grain. It made the worst aspects of the community stand out far, far more. Which is a shame, because it overshadows a lot of the more positive aspects of it.
There was a period in my early adulthood where I (female) and a couple friends (males, one of who was the one that introduced us to it) would watch it somewhat ironically while high (think I first saw it on shrooms but it was normally weed) and ended up kinda getting into the show xD I don't still watch but the show was pretty solid when I did. If you're to watch one episode for whatever reason, have it be "The Poison Joke" and you won't regret it because I think anyone would enjoy that one.
Honestly I've been a part of the fandom since season 3, and I didn't reslly let the bad psrts of the fandom bother me. I mostly remember watching the show, the reviews! The theories! The dozens of fan animstions, and HUNDREDS of fan songs! The fanganes, the discussion threads, the creator collabs! Honestly the brony fandom is still the best fandom I've ever been a part of. I know about the REALLY weird stuff, but it was always so far away from my corner of the jnternet, I have nothjng but fjnd memories about the community and the content
Other than watching TH-cam content I never really delved much deeper into the fandom myself. Only saw snippets of the deep end which I did my level best to avoid. Of course pretty much none of us could fully avoid Cupcakes and Fall of Equestria considering how pervasive they became. These days I'm more or less out completely as I watched a lot of the old community just turn sour as G5 didn't go the way they hoped. Personally I think it's fine. It's not up to FiM's standard but it's still cute and fun to watch.
Agree with the great takes overall here, no regrets! It was so much fun, we created so much cool shiii Astounding the creativity there was in the fandom, still a part of me and always will be! Brony forever.
Recently 2 prominent Brony TH-camrs got ousted by the fandom as well Wubcake being one of them and Sawtooth as well Hope Turkey Tom makes a part 2 theres a lot to go over
Soooo, story time. I’ve been in the brony fandom for roughly 10 years. Seen a lot of creative stuff, discovered creators I really liked, heck, was even inspired by one of them to do my own TH-cam channel doing primarily reactions, which led to me being recognized by people I was a fan of at the one BronyCon I got to go to. So to me the positives will always outweigh the negatives, though the bad shit like grooming definitely needs to be called out when it occurs. Also no, before anyone asks, I don’t have a jar -_-
I loved MLP: FiM, I've seen so much love and passion from both the showrunners AND the fandom (specifically Joshscorcher, he's a real one), and even found comfort in the show while dealing with some of the darkest points in my life. Hell, to this day I even find myself rewatching a small handful of episodes because of their strong writing. But while it hurts me to hear so many immediately judge Bronies or anything MLP-related with scorn, I cannot deny the fact that this fandom has CONTRIBUTED to the whole mess. Pedophilia, gatekeeping, elitism, deceit, that shooting incident, unadulterated cringe; these are all at the forefront of the fandom's image. For all the good the fans have accomplished, it's always eclipsed by all the horrendous stuff they've committed. It breaks my heart, but we deserve the stigma...
I wouldn't say we deserve the stigma, but we definitely deserve the constructive criticism, just not the destructive one and I don't like the marginalisation due to bad apples.
As a younger man I wasn't into the show because It wasn't considered appropriate. Then I turn 26 and decided to finally watch it and finish it. It was an alright show. It has very good lessons kids can learn from.
Nux: *I have seen R34, I have done the Cringe, I have seen shit that I was NEVER suppose to see. I can endure anything* Pony community: *Allow me to introduce ourselves*
The Lord (take your pick of which) gave the hardest job to the best soldier for sure. I'm grateful to be two layers removed from direct research on the topic. Thanks Nux!
Bronies: The punching bags of the world of fandoms. Everyone focuses on the negative side of the fandom and ignores all the good parts. Guess what? EVERY fandom has THOSE types of people who give the whole fandom a bad name. People just like to focus on the smaller parts of some fandoms that represent the negative aspects. Most Bronies are just everyday people who enjoy MLP and don't want to be harassed because of it
It always bothers me. You see shit just as bad if not worse from, for example, the Pokemon fandom, but people just gloss over it or ignore it, or just treat it like a bad joke before moving on and you hardly ever see anyone painting the entire Pokemon fandom as degenerates for it. Yet bronies as a whole get treated as though they are all on the same level as the worst of the fandom, or are viewed as being more bad than good despite being the same as any other large fandom.
@@bountyhunter628I think it has to do with the source material and the worst aspects of the fandom being such a severe tone shift. That to go from point A, to point B to is thought of as sacrilege or unbelievable by those on the outside looking in. Like if Barney or something more geared toward young boys had a huge following from adult women. And then add an incredible amount of depraved shit from said women, despite being a small part of the fandom to begin with. Its like culture shock, or something close to it.
@@bountyhunter628 It's a numbers game. A Fandom of 10,000 members of which 1,000 are sickos will be worse then a Fandom of 100,000 with only 6,000 sickos because while it's less seckos in the smaller fandom, it's a greater chance of encountering a sicko.
All these years later, and people still talk about the most disgusting and ridiculous parts of the community. You never see anybody making videos about the school we built in Uganda, or the kid that we paid years of cancer treatment for, or the 3 documentaries that were made.
Another example not mentioned in the video is PurpleTinker, the founder of Bronycon. Recently he got a woman fired from her job for being conservative, while he's gone on record advocating for pedophilia to be normasiled. There are bad eggs in every fandom, and ultimately it comes down to the real fans to weed them out and gatekeep them.
True we've reached peak TDS when someone thinks that a person is worthy of cancellation and financial ruin because they dared to not toe the "correct" political/ ideological line whilst openly advocating for the worst crime imaginable and no one does a thing about it. But seeing the plethora of unhinged unpleasant persons who think voting for Trump is a far greater crime deserving of death than that has left me with little hope ( as has the reaction to the sound of freedom) and has made me feel p@&dos are more common than we would think and little will be done about it by fandoms or otherwise
Holy I remember that whole ToonCriticY2K scandal, the leaked call, and everything. I even remember when someone stole his hat at a convention and put it in a toilet a year before he got exposed
I was and still do consider myself somewhat of a brony. I don't care at all for the Rule 34 brony stuff or Rule 34 of anything since I am Aroace. What I really truly love about the fandom is the creativity, the camaraderie, and the passion so many bronies share. A lot of bronies, myself included, have gone through depression, mourning, anxiety, etc, and the show has been a beacon of light in the darkness. I am probably still alive solely because this show got me through some of the worst depression I have ever faced. So many people coming together to enjoy a children's show (ironically, unironically, wholesomely, or otherwise) really is a phenomenon that has created so much more good in the world than bad.
I wish that these kind of videos showing the WORST of different fandoms would at least end by showing one REALLY good person well known from said fandom. The only one he vaguely mentioned was “The Living Tombstone” who still makes music and is still successful and basically got out of all of that stuff when he got popular from the original FNAF song.
This was a great trip down memory lane, I remember a lot of this stuff. But I'm surprised it didn't go further: the Cupcakes fanfiction, Princess M*lestia, the .MOV series, .... the Banned From Equestria game, the figurine in the Jar meme, etc. I'm surprised how much degeneracy I was able to remember.
Lauren Faust is a legitimately good cartoon creator. I was lucky enough to meet her at comic con one year, and she was a genuine nice person. She talked to me and my friend for quite a long time, and it makes me sad her show Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls never saw that light of day. She's the main reason why the show was so successful, because she's just good at her job. Unfortunately with any fandom (Undertale and Steven Universe and yeah MLP) there's always weirdos who get "famous" on the internet and that's all the public remembers the fans for. There's also extremely positive and well made things that come out of every fandom and it's a shame none of those things get remembered at all.
We are still here. I also forgot about Bronies couple years, but I got reminded and now I'm here and became one. (For nostalgic reasons as well though.)
Fandoms can be such a crazy trip. I also can't imagine the creators initial reaction to finding out how people use her show/character in their lives omg. 0.0
While I didn't find the show engaging enough to sit and watch, what I did find fascinating was how the community of these bronies took threads from the show, expanded upon them immensely and how some of these ideas ended up becoming canon apparently. I'd never even heard of another TV show doing this before.
As much as I loved Friendship is Magic, I’m sometimes grateful that the 5th generation of My Little Pony hasn’t taken off in the same way as its predecessor.
Look I know a lot of bronies are cringe but I have to tell the truth here one the best roommates I ever had was a furry and a brony and they were by far the politest, most caring and kind roommate I ever had. They always paid their part of the bills on time without fail and they were extremely dependable.
Kinda shocked he didn't go into some of the fanfic stuff, both GrimDark and ClopFic, such as Molestia, Lunaughty, and Twilight Spankle, along with Cupcakes and Rainbow Factory.
The root cause is Lauren's type of humor is not understandable to little girls. Like Power Puff Girls, the humor is geared to adults who watch the show with children, and that appeals to college-aged males.
Then your wrong, at least for the OG series. PPG is chick full of references and jokes that only adults would even notice. Try rewatching it as an adult and you will see what we mean.
My younger sister was a huge fan of MLP FiM and I watched it with her sometimes, but whenever I asked her about it she never understood any of the lessons it tries to portray. She just liked how it looked
As someone who grew up with PPG and checked out every now and then MLP when it came out (I was more invested in the creative fan art) I would never call them similar in aim. PPG is so much more geared to all genders and parents/ siblings/ relatives who are willing to watch the show than MLP is. You can sense some DNA replication but to me these two shows are not so closely related
I currently work at the Fedex building that went through the shooting. A coworker of mine knew him and had left the building just before the shooting started. Shits crazy man
Goodness, MLP was a big part of my teenage years... I cannot express how huge the cringe waves are while reminding those times, but "Discord" is still awesome song lol
42:28 The canon of like, the first season refutes this. There was an episode where the ponies met a zebra with a vastly different culture, and the whole lesson was about not being fearful of other cultures just because their practices look odd to you. She was a fan-favorite and recurring character too, iirc.
For the most part the degen bronies made up a very small precent of that community but they stood out the most. But that goes with all fandoms. Most bronies I knew where pretty normal. I think back then people came for the show but stayed for the community. I think most bronies now went on to other fandom communities like helluva boss or the owlhouse for example.
My boyfriend's brother was into it (NOT in a weird way), said bf and I should watch it (so we did), I ended up joining the My Little Pony Arena. Got back into vintage ponies for about four years. Was extremely active in their swap community, both for ponies and for other toys and collectibles. It was a great time. Alas, the cost to ship stuff has become insane so its not as practical now. It allowed me to make great friends for years and have a lot of fun, though. That said, I've heard all the craziness that happened at the 'other end' of this pool and yikes, lmfao.
Zack's attitude towards being held accountable for interacting with minors out of context is like he's apologizing for breaking something while trying to rearrange it or some other minimal thing. He committed a crime, even if he's talking to someone overseas. And this happened because well his fame put him in a place where he wasn't being held accountable for doing stupid shit.
God dang it. Look, I'm not saying it's not important to learn this type of stuff from the fandom. These are very real concerns, it did happen and it sucked, but obviously it doesn't represent the fandom as a whole. Kinda true for every fandom but Bronies always got a bad rep. Been apart of it since 2014, went to conventions, it's where I genuinely met a ton of my good friends. So I'm biased towards the community at large being good because I got to see a lot of it's good sides.
I like what I like, not going to be ashamed, not gonna apologize. Part of growing up is accepting what you like; the opinion of other people, especially people you don't even know, is of very, very little value.
I am lucky I have never had any bad experiences while I was in the fandom when I was younger. In fact it got me started in a lot of hobbies I still have… But especially all the creepypasta stuff, as much as i loved it, probably shouldn’t have been accessible to me.
You never wanna be part of the group of fans of whatever you really like. It has 100% chance of ruining it for you. It happened to me with many of my favorite games, I'm so happy before I even try to type the name on the internet, and then I may end up hating it. There's no such thing as a "good/chill fandom". They will always argue about everything and be mad, and make роrn of it, and be obnoxious and embarrasing to the point that you will not want to be seen as a part of that
As a young girl I remember some of my friends telling me about the guys who liked this show and it kind of creeped me out and turned me away from ever watching the show
The only thing MLP related I like is Smile, because I'm psychotic and watching the pink one kill everyone else is soothing. More so, now knowing how much more fucked the Bronies are, than I had assumed.
Nux is wildin' about them keeping it in the DL... But only half-way. If someone did something fucked up and you want to ruin his life, You 100% have to make sure everyone who knows him knows what he's done before HE knows. No stone unturned, make sure he can't turn to ANYONE. Then you get him to admit it, THEN YOU CALL THE COPS. They forgot they could look up the cops in his area and call them
I was into MLP and the brony stuff circling around it. I never adopted it as a major part of my personality in the way I would say furries have that as their central aspect. I liked a lot of the analysis community, often finding their notes on animation or storytelling more interesting than the episode in question. All of that to say i fell out of the community years ago, like 2018. I didn't have any clue digibro started transitioning, or that they were making any public content. But i recall them taking a quieter role in the communities even before i wandered off.
I'm an Ex-Brony. No longer care about MLP all that much. I might check on the Brony Music covers by "Prince Whatever" or even make some sprite animations as tribute to way-back-when. However, I was introduced to MLP not by the show but by a fan-made animation called "Smile HD" It was only after that- That I gave the show a chance. The show's Okay...Has a few Adult Jokes hidden in there that you have to be careful about (Still can't believe they explicitly tell these jokes to little kids) But that's a rabbit hole I'm not about to drag anyone down. Used to go to my cousin's ranch way out in Bastrop. One day, We went Horseback Riding (My cousin led the horse and let me try riding one like those old western TV shows/Movies.) But I never imagined any interpretation of the word "ride" as lewd at the time. I thought it was more of a platonic notion for simply sitting down on an animal's back and saddling up. While I'm glad I gave MLP a chance, A LOT has changed with it and I just don't care that much for it anymore. There are even some "Fandom Mix-ups" being supported now between the MLP community and other communities. Meanwhile, Bronies also made games like "Fighting is Magic" but it got cancelled. For me, It's kind of "Start and Stop" as too many grown men that actually like the show are being labeled as Pedophiles...WAY WORSE than a "Degenerate" so, really REALLY could care less about the fandom. I like the characters...To an extent. But that's it. It's not really serious enough for me to take it too seriously.
@@daraghokane4236but... they do make dark and adult stuff very wholesome, an Example being the Fear and Hunger community, or the Breaking Bad community, and etc
Which is pretty unfortunate since it overshadows the good parts of the fandom, such as the animators who actually made art like lullaby for a princess,
i watched frindship is magic as a grown man I got into it at maybe like 24 or so kept seeing posts of eather screen shots or comics and I wondered where it was from thinking it a webcomic or something found out it was a tv show and so I gave it a watch cause my younger sister used to watch the old show from the 80/90s so I thought id see what its about and maybe tell her and gave it a watch myself and I enjoyed the show never really joined into the fandom cause thats some dark place
Being a brony is basically being a furry but being in denail. Like this comment section if you have be like hey we arent all pedos just some of us then maybe ask yourself who really cares. Bronies really out here thinking they are fighting against oppression.
Mlp was a big fandom, it took over the internet for a time. the bigger the net of a fandom the larger quantity of asshole, given the nature of the show also opportunities for very very disgusting behavior, But I grew up in the fandom and the vast majority of people I have talked to just enjoyed the show and in my circles fanfictions that turn it into a darker story, often War or Apocalyptic, love Fallout Equestria. what remains of the fandom now that the hype is long long gone is certainly devoid of such people, as there is no trend to it, just a few fanfics and an inferior new generation.
Broooooooo, sigh... on the one hand i hope people who see this use it to recognize the signs and learn how to take better action within their own fandoms because the sad truth is that this can happen to anyone, in any online space. Nux no, don't even get us started on Lily Orchard.
As someone who was a kid when I first started watching the show, yeah, some of the fandom, especially in the early days, was bad. Some of it was, and still is to this day, amazing. The positivity and creativity can sometimes still astound me to this day. It's why I'm still active on FimFiction and still watch pony related content. That should not be forgotten just because of the awful parts. Said awful parts can also be found in the anime community, the Star Wars fandom, the metal and punk communities, it's in just about every large fan base, so don't think your communities are better than bronies.
my story is... i always thought it's for little girls and then when i was 17 i started watching it in og language and i was shocked how good it is i became a full on brony in every aspect possible i'm sad i only became one for half a season left of the show. but what can you do when your still young? i didn't understand english before, and watching it in polish was just... painful it's completely diffrent experience
I wanna say that during that one Skype call, the pedo guy said “you guys know me” with one of them responding with “we did” which is such a raw line ngl
As an old brony, I have this to say about /mlpol/ : The 4chan spirit was always a key part of the community. What is the 4chan spirit exactly? I guess you could boil it down to "the entire world is nothing but a gigantic April Fool's joke, nothing is real, nothing matters, everything's fucked and we can't do anything about it, so let's have laugh about it." In this optic, Nazi ponies and nazi furries is just the most logical thing in the world: it's absurd, it doesn't make sense, it doesn't work, so it's funny and we're gonna dedicate time and effort to promote that concept as hard as we can. For the lulz. That's just what 4chan is, what 4chan does. And it's fine most of the time. Except eventually, an actual psycho comes along, fails to see the absurd humor and starts thinking "holy shit, this makes so much sense!" and terrible things happen after that...
Exactly. Like tidepods. Everyone was having a grand old time joking about "the forbidden snacks" and why they had to make them look so tasty, and then some dumbass comes along and actually takes it seriously. Like, Aryanne is objectively hilarious. A great example of absurdist humor. The tribulations of a Nazi pony repeatedly trying and failing to spread her message in the land of friendship and rainbows. But then the actual shit for brains Nazis have to come in, take it seriously, and ruin it for everyone.
I was OBSESSED with this show for years, when I was younger. And because of that.. I was one of the unfortunate souls who stumbled upon the horrific animations of the characters brutally murdering each other. My childhood innocence was completely obliterated after that-
Ah, one of the many victims of Mister Dave Davey's magnum opus, Smile HD, huh? Amongst others!.. Or the litanies of pony-creepypasta vids/fan-fics "Cupcakes" and "Sweet-Apple-Massacre" come to mind.
Pfft, my generation grew up with "Nightmare on Elm Street", "Friday the 13th", "Phantasm", "Hellraiser" and "The Howling". 80's kids were NEVER innocent.
yes and i cant be the only one whos sick of people blaming the parernts like no you uploaded it and children saw it. so yes i do blame the people who made it %100 and not the parents.
I have a younger brother who got me hooked because he was watching the Equestrian Girls movie and Demon Sunset Shimmer was interesting. He would watch any show that grabbed his attention no matter if it was targeted towards boys or girls. Dang,he alone back then could have been a kids show test audience
Yeah, shit was wild. I escaped mostly unscathed, only interacting with the gross shit on accident (gross, explicit fics and games) the one that is BURNED into my mind, and I unfortunately remember it at random times a few times a year. Banned from Equestria is truly a game that exists for any unfortunate child to stumble on it
The problem is the community has gotten completely out of hand to the point of grouping bronies that aren't creeps alongside bronies that became revealed as creeps. Everyone ended up paying the price for the sins of others, causing several people that genuinely loved the show to just drop out altogether because of all the drama surrounding these incidents. Despite the brony community still having relevance, it's slowly died down after the finale of FiM. It's no longer as massive or crazy as it was during FiM, but the damage was done.
It's astounding how this is apparently all about the degeneracy of Bronies, while the comment fill up with rampant blind hate, slurs, spite, and trolls. It's wonderful how being irrationally angry at people who did nothing to you personally brings out the worst in people. I was a Brony back when I was still a teen/young adult, and while I grew out of that whole phase, I look back on it fondly. I may not have ever openly engaged in the fandom that much - socially awkward teen years were shockingly awkward - but the show and its community helped shape me into a better person. Before it, I was a needlessly edgy anarchic teen who was slowly slipping into the dangerous world of Anonymous. But then, I got sucked into /b/ and the early Bront fandom, and everything just kinda shifted. Not all bronies are bad. Even among the ones that like the R34 stuff, I bet you they aren't much worse than your average furry.
The main issue here is that there was no gatekeeping so weirdos got in. Then more weirder weirdos followed, and more weirder weirdos followed till you get some of the most vile of creatures out there that move to seats of power and lord their new found abilities over others. Then gate keeping starts up to keep away anyone who'd take down the weirdos. Happens with almost every fandom, but MLP was one of the fastest it happened to once it became popular. And now it is moving to stuff like Dungeons and Dragons, like how we get BG3 with bear sex scene. Its in Warhammer 40k or whatever its called. Its in starwars, its in lord of the rings, its in disney, its everywhere. And its getting worse. Think about it for a moment, all these weirdos of the brony community who have no ability to discern the time and place to do things at no longer have as much of a community anymore. They'll go somewhere else.
Honestly. I remember when this show first launched. I was bored watching TV one day and had literally nothing else to watch. All my other shows were on hiatus and i gave the first episode a chance... Best worst thing i've ever done lol. Something about the lore inside it and in general the entire characters and their development. I dunno, it just dragged me in kicking and screaming sat me in front of colourful pastel ponies and kept me there until the end of the series.
Being a casual fan, watching what happened in the main community from time to time was sometimes good, sometimes not, I was mostly here for the fan stuff like comics and narrations
Yo i was never a broney but i was really into Hetalia. I remember getting kicked out of a rp group for being mean when i was like 17 because i adamantly refused to rp with a literal child. She was from another country, and apparently, her being legal in her country was validation for everyone else in that group despite her not being legal in the states where we all lived.
Fun fact: This video was actually uploaded on the 13th anniversary of the premiere of this iteration of My Little Pony.
So nice of Nux to commemorate this most blessed day. Truly, he is God's strongest brony.
Love to see it yeah😆

not really
Beautiful.
I would say the bad parts of the fandom didn't really hurt the show's rep and there is all the good that has been done like all the charity events.
That's why gatekeeping is important
Unless you're Tom. Excellent content, but his generalizations about the Fandom were a bit much.
Heres an interesting fact. The way bronies handled Zach motivated LioConvoy to start predator hunting. Good guy. Good channel.
I remember he was on Josh's d&d series Bronie D&D: they basically kicked out once they found out.

Yea

I try to write legitimately good MLP fanfiction to spite the cringe.
I will never apologize for that.

1:15 That nux quote legit made me go "aww, come on man!" irl
Considering Raven, Tara Strong must have some kind of mutant charm powers.
In fact it got me started in a lot of hobbies I still have… But especially all the creepypasta stuff, as much as i loved it, probably shouldn’t have been accessible to me.
i was about 9yrs old when this show came out. im very thankful that i didn't discover fandoms until i was literally a senior in high school lmao

Watched it to laugh, liked it, became a brony, found out about the disgusting fans, jumped ship so fast.

I'm an Ex-Brony. No longer care about MLP all that much.
I might check on the Brony Music covers by "Prince Whatever"
or even make some sprite animations as tribute to
way-back-when. However, I was introduced to MLP not by
the show but by a fan-made animation called "Smile HD"
It was only after that- That I gave the show a chance.
The show's Okay...Has a few Adult Jokes hidden in there that you have to be careful
about (Still can't believe they explicitly tell these jokes to little kids) But that's a rabbit hole I'm not about to drag anyone down.
Used to go to my cousin's ranch way out in Bastrop. One day, We went Horseback Riding (My cousin led the horse and let me try riding one like those old western TV shows/Movies.)
But I never imagined any interpretation of the word "ride" as lewd at the time.

I guess you could boil it down to "the entire world is nothing but a gigantic April Fool's joke, nothing is real, nothing matters, everything's fucked and we can't do anything about it, so let's have laugh about it."
In this optic, Nazi ponies and nazi furries is just the most logical thing in the world: it's absurd, it doesn't make sense, it doesn't work, so it's funny and we're gonna dedicate time and effort to promote that concept as hard as we can.

I escaped mostly unscathed, only interacting with the gross shit on accident (gross, explicit fics and games) the one that is BURNED into my mind, and I unfortunately remember it at random times a few times a year. Banned from Equestria is truly a game that exists for any unfortunate child to stumble on it
Not all bronies are bad
nice another chomo spotted
No one is saying they are though?
You sure about that?
I love Nux more than I hate Turkey Tom, so I'll put myself through watching lol
I never got this Fandom man. Never have, probably never will.
wise man once said, "I HAVE A BELT AND I'M NOT AFRAID TO HANG MYSLEF"
Now that the infection AU is back I think nux reacting to "How bronies traumatised a whole generation" Anyone remember cupcakes?
Being a casual fan, watching what happened in the main community from time to time was sometimes good, sometimes not, I was mostly here for the fan stuff like comics and narrations
I'm so happy MandoPony was brought up in his video.
I was there when they came... when /b was brought low by pastel ponies. When Ren Hoek and Vash the Stampede were there... and had poiny ocs made.
As a mentally scarred former member of that community, I distinctly remember when the Toonz drama was happening live.
My fandom has been disenfranchised and flagrantized by the bronies, I have been deeply offended
Friendship is magic, and magic is HERESY!!!!!!
