Ok but Excalibur being #2 on this list has me wondering how strong Arthur would have become in the Soul Eater world. Excalibur was Arthur's original and one true partner and probably the only one who could stand his presence since their basically the same. Arthur himself was on the Top 10 strongest characters list and we also know that all the Fire Force characters got a power boost upon entering the Soul Eater World, so not only would he be able to bring ut Excalibur's full potential but he also wouldn't be relying on just his power.
Exactly like especially the amount of just shear luck and will power arthur has especially during his fight with dragon literally getting cut in half stabbed and still managed to cut the earth in half and fire force characters were already stronger than 99 percent of soup eater characters so I would say he could body asura and I find it funny bc hero is Arthur's descendant

Black Star is definitely number 1 at the end of the manga. Even Full Shinigami Kidd admits it
Blackstar cant beat Asura by himself and Shinigami is as strong as him.. at the end of the manga when he's floating they so say he's not that far off tho

@@kyrianyao4420 Asura isn't dead. Corona sealed him away within himself/herself and then sealed herself/himself inside the moon but it's pretty clear that the Kishin still exists and will one day return. Maka swore she would save Corona one day and BlackStar swore that he'll beat the Kishin the next time he appears on his own. Plus it would appear that the next manga the creator is working on is a sequel to Soul Eater so the big showdown might not be too far off...

Wouldn’t Kid eventually become as strong as his father though? Given how kid is still fairly young. I’m sure that doesn’t mean he’s reached the true potential of his strength? Death used a fragment of his soul to create Kidd. But they’re technically the same, both are gods..

@@keithragin89 True. But then again, we don’t if a fragment of a soul would be able to grow. The rule that there can’t be 2 god’s of death’s that exist the same time is why Kid had the lines of Sanzu which restricted his power.
If you think about, Kid and Death are the same being. Which is why Kid had OCD and was obsessed with order. It’s purely speculation anyways. The creator said that kid would be stronger if tapped into his madness of order but it’s just something that both Death and Kidd don’t bother using.
If it continues the pattern of the genre then he'll probably be stronger at some point tbh, but anything post series is technically only hypothetical so you can't really include it
But yeah, presumably with a few hundred more years under his belt kid would likely easily reach that #1 spot

Problem is that BlackStar can't mesh with Excalibur's personality. He and Kid tried to lay claim to the sword before and pretty much had it in their hands... then they promptly stuck it back in the ground and walked away regretting they ever made the journey in the first place.

i think Death the Kid has the most potential between the cast, but at the end of the manga, Black Star is the strongest.
My opinion is literally the opposite. Kid is a tiny bit stronger with madness at the end but black star has much more potential. Just based on drive.

Bro i don't trust your power scaling. Kishin Hunt is very plainly not a strong attack. it's a hax attack. It didn't damage Asura sigificantly at all, it simply gave Maka the ability to travel within his soul to remove Crona.
Also you said Black Star is only moon level which is a gross underestimation
It was a shame that Soul Eater got cut short. There was a lot of loose ends that needed to be tied up. Never got to see Makas mom, still needed to learn about the other gods, there was still one Gorgan sister left, etc.
I would at least have kilik as an honorable mention

never read the manga, only watched the anime, though I have looked up some manga stuff, so am aware of some stuff (albiet quite rusty with Soul Eater knowledge/memory), but that's a far cry from actually reading the entire manga, of course
does the manga ever get into maka's mother? if it does, how powerful is she?
a bit more with Maka (maybe this is anime only stuff though):
she does have her 'exorcism' powers too, from her mother I think, which did initially (the first time) completely expel the Black Blood, along with any evil/taint/spell on her or others, if remember right, and ya, she also has kishin/genie hunter, and also, she is both meister and weapon (due to her union between her parents, her father Spirit being a weapon), and she does really well against kishin asura, though obviously had a big weakness with it, that kishin asura quickly recognized and exploited, but in terms of physically/performance/combat wise, it was nearly on par with Asura, not quite, but close, and then we got the Black Blood too, that enhances her, and again, maybe its anime only, but she has the courage/bravery to overcome and overpower fear, which could very well be the most powerful weapon of all against all of the madness ruling over the world and its most powerful characters (the shinigami / old ones), and not to mention that very brief moment of "Black Blood Maka the Mad", against Crona... that was hella creepy-scary
not saying any of this makes her the most powerful, but it could be having the potential to become the most powerful... eventually... if she can keep growing stronger...
don't know too much about the other shinigami / old ones, and/or Lord Death's squad way back in the past, but aren't they the most powerful in world, with runners up being misquito, black star, and death the kid
also, didn't lord death himself say that excalibur was even stronger than him, should excalibur ever truly fully actually engage and with all of his power (and especially if he were to find a meister that can "handle" him, laughs), or is my mind just playing tricks... meh
I thought Excalibur is just a comedic thing put into the show with all the stories about him and the so many excuses of requirements you must have in order to use him is quite ridiculous also that fight with Kid and Black star wasn't at their peak of strength kid didn't complete the lines of Sanzu and Black star was not even fighting seriously tho we did get to see the Excalibur in action once in the whole anime but we didn't see Excalibur fighting against the kishin and madness because he has so many excuses

Putting Maka on the list is a big stretch, she only could go toe to toe with Asura because of Soul’s black blood, basically most of her powers comes from Soul while all the other characters in the list are independent from their weapons, they can fight alone or with other weapons if needed

The anime and manga are both very different the anime continued after the manga I think went on a break and they caught up and instead of waiting they did an anime only thing so that’s why a lot of characters look different if you want to read the manga where the anime changes from its starts at chapter 39

another honourable mention should be mabaa. its hard to know how strong she really is or maybe even was when she had both her eyes.
Of course the Meisters get all the attention with the exception of Excaliber & Justin Law. Maka + Soul together are stronger than Black Star or Kid Alone just from the nature of the series. Power of Teamwork was a huge aspect of what made the series what it was. Of course with the Anime canon Maka herself is powerful on her own as seen by her defeating Asura in the final episode. Yes Stein is insanely powerful, although having a Death Scythe partner (Spirit Albarn & Marie) makes him that much better. The Main 7 Protagonists working together with Soul's Music make them literally a team of gods. Is it really fair to say Black Star is strongest when Soul is amplifying him just as Maka Amplifies Soul alongside the Black Blood?

But, shinigamis soul only covered the DWMA early in the series. Covering the moon means that Kid's is far larger.
That was when he was at rest. Shinigami wasn't fighting like Kid was. Plus, the soul is also bound to death city, limiting how far it can spread to concentrate it and keep Asura contained.

Won't lie, I admit that I haven't gotten around to seeing the series yet, but I kind of thought that Shinra would have taken first place. Even though technically he isn't present in the series, existing quite a while ago in it's history. He's basically god? since he recreated the entire universe and revived the human race and everything or is the number, or did the fire force characters not count? Or are the soul eater characters that powerful that shinra isn't even on the list? If he was on he list would he take first place?
Bro shinra was never mentioned in the series because Fure Force was written AFTER Soul Eater was. Fire force is of course the prequel but he has absolutely no presence in the fire force series. He is stronger than everyone here but he is not a part of the soul eater series. For all we could assume he sealed away his powers because he didn't immediately defeat all the monsters in the new world which he could have easily done with his powers. He might actually be dead in the soul eater timeline
