The police who staked out his house to try and bag some DNA to test it against what they had said they couldn't believe that who they were watching was 70. He looked 20 years younger.
What is so bad is that he only goes to prison hospital instead of cell. He has ailments and in wheelchair. This will cost taxpayers $1,000 a day. How is this justice? He dies in 1 year of natural causes and caught 40 years after crimes

It never switched off. I assure you he just changed the target of his ire and rage. One of the things that makes Angelo unique among serial killers is the amount of control he exhibits over himself in contrast to other serial killers. He knows when to kill someone and when's the best time to do it and not get caught. One day he simply got too close to getting caught and decided it was time to do something else. He changed his behavior and targets. He didn't kill people anymore but he still didn't let go of his hatred.
The expression is: like finding a needle in a haystack, not hayloft, two different things, change one word of a saying, statement etc...get one word wrong and it's possible to change meaning entirely, preserve language

It is. Let’s not forget back then that DNA and forensics were not what they are now. But with the advancements of them it helped finally catch this creep. He got caught, was held accountable, and will spend whatever days he has left in a cell for 20 hours a day.
It happened before computerised systems, before DNA detection. You should be PROUD of your country for the relentlessness and dedication in catching him eventually.
Obviously no real justice here. And for those who somehow believe he has any remorse or is sorry like he stated, think about this, if he was actually sorry, why is he pretending to be a feeble old man sitting in a wheelchair? He's clearly not from the clips of him in his prison cell! His family loves him of course, but someday it may sink in to them that the were just pawns in his game. These sickos always have a cover family to appear normal so they blend in. My compassion is for all the victims of this monster. However I do feel sorry for his poor wife coming to terms with the fact this thing she was married to was out butchering people and then coming home to sleep with her at night. That's a pretty scary thought!
@AJP: Yeah, I cannot even comprehend how violated, hurt, appalled, ashamed, repulsed, guilty (survivor's guilt and guilt from not knowing nor reporting/stopping him), outraged, dirty, horrified, offended, resentful, angry, dishonoured & utterly betrayed she must be feeling, not to mention the amount of cognitive dissonance caused by having to learn something like THIS-just the total mindfuck it must be for her (and their children)-about someone she was intimate with, decided to settle down with, and had a family with.

This monster, he has his own room and free food.
It's hard to believe this guy was a cop. Let alone during the time he did these crimes
What? An ex cop?
I think we know that police can be as evil as the rest of society.
@@MrJerry9691 that's true, but its definitely not their forte
The district attorney of Tulare county speaks with such conviction wow. I had chills through his speech and he is absolutely right there is no space for evil! And hope is the message. What is done behind closed doors will always come to light. Rest in peace to all victims and may God bless and guide the remaining survivors. Thank you Bailey for bringing this case to my attention
Sick man...and as for his families comments...disgusting!!
What’s wrong with people
his family is a victim too, how can u not see this?
@@EmerMcLaughlin indeed
It was hard for me to listen to also. But family is family right or wrong. They don’t see him as a serial killer because he hid that part of himself so well.
@@hp2474 yes I do totally understand that...but they could have just shown a bit more remorse towards those families who have suffered so much over the years💕
Trust me, people in prison will make an example out this guy, he will not do easy time.
I doubt it. He’s a serial killer. They will look up to him, not down at him. They are mostly killers themselves.
Seriously doubt it because once a copper always a copper. Not only tht but he'll be put on protection. Away from mainstream prisoner's.
Why did they let the victims go through more torture by letting this fool make a pathetic one sentence apology, bad acting and more platform for a weak monster.
talking tough behind computer screens has never been original nancy
It's not so much making the victims go through more torture, everyone convicted, found guilty of crimes, especially felonies are allowed by law to make a statement before sentence is pronounced, it's constitutionally protected rights for every US citizen...
Always the same, never a hitman around when you need one.
XD lol
So many of these DAs look like they’re settin up to run for office
they have inflated egos at best, extreme sense of grandiosity describes most of them. They are obnoxious.
They probably are, cases like this make and break careers, especially political ones of elected officials such as DA's and judge's
I hope he lives a long time, so he can wake up each morning knowing that he will never be free
he wont care...he will have meals, entertainment,books,movies,snacks,treats,...what do his victims have?
Just imagine being married to someone would defend this POS?
@@kathleensnowden6328 he's been doing what he wants for nearly 45 years..
he wont be bothered to rot in jail for all he cares :(. instead he would get free health and care free meal
@EyesWideOpen 111: you need your eyes wide open for sure - read before making a comment. The victim of Joe D’Angelo stated: Kris Pedretti, who was attacked by DeAngelo in 1976 told the judge: "I was a normal 15-year-old kid. I loved going to school, having sleepovers and going to church.
What's the point of giving this guy a life sentence? He's pretty close to dead just from the look of him anyways.
-the Troll
Why is this courtroom in a high school gymnasium?
I hope he suffers a lot in whatever time he has left.
He’s actually chillin on our tax dime $$$$ . He’s at the Protective housing unit, at CSP CORCORAN. He beat the system and isn’t on the death row , didn’t say anything about the crimes and is going to take it to the grave.
Imagine all the inmates that are beating him up right now
He's in protective custody -- and will remain so -- for the rest of his life.
You.. you honestly believe with everything he has done he will be mixing with other inmates.. he is for sure being protected
@@AshleyTutss one can dream lol
I BLOODY HOPE SO, sorry for swearing.
@@AshleyTutss Oh, so we're giving him special treatment now?
Was this held at a courtroom or convention center
I feel like these life sentences aren't punishment enough. How long does this guy really have left in prison? He got away with these rapes and murders for the majority of his life.
A bonfire would be my sentence.
YodaEconomics. Death by a thousand ants. On TV.
Life in the hole is worse than any torture.
@@amp4105 good.
It’s about (finally) holding him accountable and making sure he never experiences freedom again.
This man waa a monster, yet you'd think you were at a pre-Oscar nominations event. Beyond strange.
They used this venue because of covid.
And this was solved by basically a single person who asked the questions which needed to be asked and did the research without any law enforcement training instead of relying on the government who couldn't figure it out and we're supposed to trust them or rely on them?... Imagine what we as a society could do without the limitations and bickering of the children who run the nation.
Well the culprit himself was law enforcement too one more reason not to trust cops then the other ones don't do their job to protect people either.
Heavy on the limitations of the children running things...
He has 74 ... there is no consolation or justice in such a short sentence.
none.you are right. some people who smoked a joint had to spend more years in jail.
He got held accountable, better late than never
Pure evil
the killer's family always try to make him or her sound like an angel
They're still in denial. If that was my husband or father, I would never ever have anything to do with him. Their whole relationship with him has been a total lie
This guy was one of worst. Brutal.
I can imagine the pain the families of the victims felt as the demonically inhabited man was being praised by his family. I understand this is the family’s right, but out of respect for the families and victims, silence would of been appropriate. There will be no justice on earth that can fix this. God, in His infinite wisdom, sovereignty, and omnipresence, will send him to a place of eternal torment that none can imagine. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, pure outer darkness, and the personification of evil tormenting him endlessly. He has no soul. Romans 1:24:28 (NIV) is his judgment. God has given him over entirely to his wickedness. The only comfort he will have is his agonizing cries. He does not feel any remorse for what he did. When he stands in front of Christ, Joseph D’Angelo will indeed tremble in fear for eternity!
How do you know what happens after death , such a fu@king ego ,
Wow reading your comment scared me and I'm asking myself " where am I going"?
If you accept Jesus Christ, you will spend eternity in heaven with me. He is the LORD, and there is hope and love with him. Without God, we perish!
@@thesaintsovercomepodcastwi6922 I have accepted Jesus February 22 1993 but I haven't been living for him. My life is a mess.
@@nicolegillespie4704 It is ok. The fact that you realize it is very important. I do not know your story, but there is hope. I will make a message on my podcast and my TH-cam channel for you by Monday. I hope it gives you hope and comfort to know that God loves you and he can restore you no matter what situation you’re in. Thank you for being open and honest.
someone that does all this and sits on it for 40 years and portrays this wonderful helping loving person then says he is sorry for it all. her is just sorry he ever got caught. you don't commit sand repeat and taunt for over 10 year span. and gets to live a care free life with no worries of getting caught. justice has not been served. young people got lives taken his is over at 70 some years old. but he got found out finally before he died.
wow Jenifer is very intelligent emotionally, i like the way she explained that he could not have actually loved his family to commit all those crimes, and that he must have felt something (lacking) in his families love. I think this is very true,
sarah smith was looking for your comment, I was thinking the same thing 🌻 she has a beautiful spirit
Actually in jail lights are really annoying and its normal to cover lights.
Here we go ! The Actor is controlling the crowd
What is the point of spending millions of $ on this trial when the dude will die in 6 months anyway ????
Joe's nieces need to find a new "hero"!
In the words of Bailey Sarian get better idols!!
@@Gothiccc1996 I love her! I watch her channel!
It’s like rain on your wedding day.
I just read some articles about how this “person” who is sitting in a wheelchair and acting feeble is actually athletic stronger than he looks and does calisthenics in his cell this “person” is just the worst
The police who staked out his house to try and bag some DNA to test it against what they had said they couldn't believe that who they were watching was 70. He looked 20 years younger.
Chase Nielson. Perfect model of psychopath.
"Life! With a minimum of seven years." I must have misheard.
How can letting him see how much damage he did be a positive thing? . He is the sort that would get off on the knowledge he hurt so many
No, he tried to hide behind being a “hero” ( cop) so hAving everyone know who he REALLY is humiliates a sociopathic narcissist like him.
In my point of view I would want him too see who he was also. Make him realise what he did.
The trial of Satan.
Notice the slowly increased social distancing of his lawyers
Wow. How many people did this guy kill?.
Calling up his victims several years later. Spooky
What is so bad is that he only goes to prison hospital instead of cell. He has ailments and in wheelchair. This will cost taxpayers $1,000 a day. How is this justice? He dies in 1 year of natural causes and caught 40 years after crimes
So taxpayers now have to pay big money for the time he has left in prison 😐 how that justice 😬
They would anyway, death row inmates are usually alive for another 20 30 years. They just don't like pulling the trigger
I would pay to keep people like him in jail or prison than to not pay anything and him be out there still
Why not also sentence him to being legally barred from wearing a mask. Just wait and see what happens.
This human shaped thing is pure evil.
I absolutely love psychology and this case and his mindset and how it changed almost overnight is so interesting to me! Like what turn this switch on that caused such hatred for women but I especially wanna know what switch that off and made him stop almost overnight!! I really hope someone is able to study him!!
To the survivors I pray for y’all and am so glad justice was finally served
And to the victims and I pray you’re looking down and finally feel peace knowing so many worked so hard to finally get you all the justice you deserve!! 😔💔
Congratulations to those who caught him by following the DNA linkages of relatives, This should be a pain staking search of the needle in the hayloft.
(Not to diminish what they did but they only caught him because of DNA banks, they didnt single headedly find his DNA lol)
The expression is: like finding a needle in a haystack, not hayloft, two different things, change one word of a saying, statement etc...get one word wrong and it's possible to change meaning entirely, preserve language
Those letters coming from that monster’s family showed the TWO faces of Joseph d’angelo……….. The face of an “angel he portrayed to some of his family members, & the face of evil he portrayed to the general public., & also, there are folks who unfortunately have dealt with unpleasant lows from parent/parents, & go on to live VERY DECENT & PROJECTIVE lives., SO, PLEASE spare EVERYONE the POOR EXCUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What irks me is the people that pretend he only had women victims. His male victims are ignored
Too bad they couldn’t impose hard labor for his life sentences at least with his hands.
Did... that district attorney in pink just list out the men who had to witness, and who were victims, and completely skip over Vic???
He’s wearing a mask.... for his health lol.
Does this judge not know that there’s no such thing as an “AIDS” test?
Yes there is, blood test
..and they call this justice.😖😠👎
It is.
Let’s not forget back then that DNA and forensics were not what they are now. But with the advancements of them it helped finally catch this creep.
He got caught, was held accountable, and will spend whatever days he has left in a cell for 20 hours a day.
I think everyone should do an Ancestry DNA swab so we can help catch a psychopathic killer too!!
With all due respect I think that's a bad idea.
so whats hes release date?
Only took 40+ years to catch this freak, great job to our justice system
It happened before computerised systems, before DNA detection. You should be PROUD of your country for the relentlessness and dedication in catching him eventually.
Ya, too bad Sniffy Biden and his crew like Pelosi and AOC will defund the police who catch demons like this....
TO MATTHEW, YOU SOUND AS THOUGH YOU COULD’VE DONE BETTER. WHY DIDN’T YOU BIG BAD JOHN?
@@Peewee0413 he was the police!
@@sashabr56 yes, we know........
Soooooo no death sentence???? Why???
California doesn’t have one.

DeAngelo claimed an inner personality, "Jerry" was the true killer. I've not seen a mental health profile, but wonder if that was a curve he was throwing?
Where were the proecutors from Santa Clara County? DA Jeff Rosen has led a toxic culture in the county that protects bad policing and public corruption at the expense of crime victims and taxpayers
