Y'all do know that long before Beyonce and the manufactured hype of single handedly smashing the last bastion of white racism, commonly referred to as country music. What y'all don't know is that blacks and country music go together like hand in glove. Blues is a combination of country music. We lived together, slept together, ate the same soul food together. And died together. We even created together our own musical instrument. The banjo is African. AND GUESS WHO WROTE MANY OF YOUR COUNTRY AND WESTERN HITS BACK IN THE DAY? Us black folks. Remember the hit song JUST WALKING IN THE RAIN? That was written by my band mates. The Tennessee Prisonaires. As a band member I can tell you that this black prison band wrote hundreds of popular and classic country and western songs and we only got a couple dollars and no recording credits. Except for JUST WALKING IN THE RAIN. And by the way. Everyone from Elvis Presley to Merle haggard used to come to the prison and sign us out and take us to SUN Records where we had jam sessions. Yep. If it were not for black bluesmen there would not have been a Sun Records. Because we were there all the time. Singing together and playing together and living and loving together and no racism. So Beyonce you are no trailblazer in country music. Blacks have been there since day one.
Nobody watched the Grammy's, it's become the wrong kind of spectacle. It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion. 😱
